Over the edge

Delilah: Cameron, are you okay?

His eyes fluttered as the blackness faded into reality once again. He had passed out after his control was throttled by the firefight between Ava and Viper, and had missed the final blow altogether!

"What the FUCK?! I always miss the good stuff!"

He slowly began to stir as his senses were jumpstarted thanks to the screams of Delilah as she joined Sharon in cradling the body of Alycia, who was seemingly...DEAD.

Getting up to his feet, he watched as Sharon and Delilah exchanged words. He didn't interrupt. This was the last thing they needed right now. If Alycia were truly dead, she wouldn't want this.

Sharon: She wasn't even acting on her own free will.. and somehow we MISSED that until it was TOO LATE.

He sighed heavily. Cameron KNEW there was something wrong with Alycia. HE knew this wasn't the real her, as well as some of the others, mainly Delilah, but with everything else going on. With Viper and the virus, and Sheena Island, all of this seem to fall upon deaf ears.

From the corner of his eyes he saw Malice begin to wake up, and he cringed a little. She had been a great help in this caper, but it was for her own selfish needs. In FACT, had Malice not been WHO she was, much of this might not have happened. His anger for her was still there, and part of him greatly wished that Diana be the dead one in this situation, NOT Alycia.

Malice: But undoubtedly you will be inconsolable if I don't do you a FAVOR and tell you that...I don't think the "woman" in your arms is REALLY Alycia.

"Not really Alycia? Malice what the hell are you getting at?"

Malice: a LIFE MODEL DECOY.

"What the FUCK!?!"

Malice coldly walks over and presses down on the button in Alycia's back, watching as she disenigrates into a melted mass, then dissappears into a cloud of dust.

"This is unreal..."

Taking one last jab at Ava, Malice asks Isis to teleport the group to GREECE. MINERVA'S MANSION. His mind went to Alison. Would he get to see her? After this caper, after seeing the perversions one is capable of creating in their own family, he couldn't help but draw parallels from Marcus to his own mother. Alison and Cameron had survived, in their own way, and damnit, sometimes he just needed to see his sister, to make.. to make everything okay with him.

"Yes..let's get the hell out of this place."

The tumult in Delilah's mind eased, and she stopped crying. She sat there on the ground, pulled her knees up to her chest and hugged them to her. She didn't look at Malice - or anyone else, for that matter - as Diana spoke to them. Her blank and emotionless face just stared out across the island, but that wasn't what she was seeing.

She glanced over just as "Alycia's" body crumbled to dust. But it didn't matter. Whether she was real or not, she had still lost Alycia due to her failure. And Haleigh was still a zombie. And sooner or later, everyone else she cared about would be lost too...

...GREECE. MINERVA'S MANSION.

Delilah's eyes went wide and panic shot through her despite Malice's influence. No...she couldn't go there. Alison would be there...probably Morgan would be too as soon as she heard...she couldn't face them.

No.

She didn't move from where she sat. She wouldn't go. She just wouldn't.

He looked over at Delilah, who seemed far worse for the weather as she sat down on the ground, knees up to her chest, cradling them in her arms. This battle had been hard won for her, feeling that no matter what, she had failed her team. These feelings had REALLY been eating Delilah up lately, and if she didn't start trying to deal with things, she was going to go down a VERY dark and lonely path.

Cameron detected that Malice had taken the liberty of calming her mind, but Cameron wouldn't do anything further like that. Delilah's mind was off limits to him, and he had only entered her dream because he was pulled there by her. Because she needed help, and he was there for her. With Alison gone, and Haleigh with Zach and Nicolas and just about anybody else BUT him, Delilah was the closest person he had in The Six, and she was beginning to feel almost like a big sister.

He walked over to her, sat down, cradling himself around her and hugged her with all of his might, not just for comfort, but also for the actual pressure. Large amounts of pressure placed across the body calm the central nervous system, it destresses the body, and while her demons were her own, and wouldn't go away until Delilah was ready for them to, he hoped he could get in her the state of mind to be able to go and possibly face Morgan and Alison. He kissed the side of her head, before whispering in her ear.

"Dee...while I find this insane sense of resonsibility you seem have for EVERYONE oddly endearing, you gotta snap out of it. You just fought your ASS off here today. We all just stopped a virus from destroying the world! You and Ava beat the SHIT out of someone who from all exterior view seemed unbeatable. But we're here. We made it. Malice is going to fix Haleigh, and Alycia is SAFE with the Amazons. You did the team proud today. Nobody else is going to say otherwise. You CAN'T keep living in the past. You have to live in the present. And PRESENTLY, we need to get the hell out of here. I'm not going without you and will you honestly deprive me of a chance to see my sister?"

He squeezed her in his arms before getting back up on his feet, limping for a moment as he extended his hand down to her.

"Come on Dee. Let's get out of here? Please?"

She was so tired. All she wanted to do was put her head down and go to sleep. Cameron put his arms around her, and she wanted to tell him to go away, but she just didn't have the energy. So she just sat there as he hugged her.

"...I'm not going without you and will you honestly deprive me of a chance to see my sister?"

No, she supposed not. And she knew Cameron really would stand there until he wore her down. And might as well get it over with.

She looked up at Cameron's outstretched hand. And with sad eyes, she reached out and took it.

<< for a while now, the six had to get along without a healer or a precog and magick user and they learned without even realizing it that they werent as dependant on those as they might have thought. but now, in a moment where they should be happy to be returning to a "safe place" where they would find comfort, help for Haleigh and more, several of the Six seemed hesitant to go.>>

<< Perhaps Malice knew this and that was why she picked Minerva's mansion as well as it being convenient "drop off" point on the way from Sheena Island back to the United States. Or perhaps some of the not so flattering but ultimnately REVEALING things Malice had said about Delilah and others of the Six touched a nerve more than they would have liked to let on. >>

<< Even when Malice upheld her end of the bargain and left, the Six would have to deal with the loss of Sharon, who was now unwavering in her decision to leave the team and that would be rather difficult to explain to Morgan, not to mention Nicolas' more than slight leaning toward living with Dominique in NYC. And of course there was Ava, whom Malice had outed for her homicidal hatred toward Alycia, and now Ava was left to grapple with feelings that were completely misplaced, since Alycia HERSELF had never been there after all. >>

<< The IMMEDIATE danger to them, and the world was over but inner turmoil that had been there before, still remained and Viper just added her own brutal salt to those wounds. She may be dead, but she managed to do damage as only a deranged child of James Marcus could.>>

<< still, they had no dead to bury, and the world was not irrevocably altered, so there were more than a few small blessings to be counted. it was now time to leave Sheena Island, which now was Malice and the Hellfire Club's holding as per the agreement between the Six & Sisterhood, and return to slightly more familiar, safe ground for the Six...Minerva's Mansion, a sprawling cliff side villa in Greece that overlooks the ocean itself.>>

<< Isis weaves a teleporting spell, and away they go. >>
