So I went another mad comic reading binge and read issues 1-61 of 100 Bullets in two days and absolutely loved it. Before I get started on actually reviewing the series though I'd like to make it clear that this is an ADULT comic. There are some very graphic death scenes, harsh language, and nudity so keep the kiddies away from this one. If you are an adult though, please give this series a chance. The art isn't spectacular butit's not horrible either and much like the way I feel about Maleeve and Mignola fits the atmosphere well.

Imagine that you are at a terrible point in your life. Now imagine that a stranger mysteriously shows up at your door step and hands you a brief case that contains undeniable proof that x person is responsible for your current situation. Also in the brief case is an untracable gun as well as 100 untracable bullets. He then goes on to tell you that not only do you have the brief case but there will be no federal involvement to stop you. No police, no fbi, NOTHING. A 100% get out of jail free card for revenge. He doesn't say you HAVE to kill anyone or do anything, he simply gives you the means and walks away.

That is the basic premise of the book and for the first couple of arcs this is what happens. Agent Graves giving seemingly random people brief cases and the stories of how they deal with it. But as the issues keep coming we find out more and more about Agent Graves, the people he works with, and WHY many of the people picked were DEFINATELY not picked at random.

There are a ton of consipiracy theories, back stabbings, and plot twists. It's just an absolutely great book. Not to forget the great concept.

Stand out issues for me were #27 with it's JFK and Marilyn Monroe references as well as #50 with it's Roanoke Island reference.
