A step forward

After a nice long shower, Ava emerged from her room now fully ready. Wearing a daring Nina Ricci dress that hugged her perfectly toned body like a glove, she dared ANYONE to say she had a baby bump. :p Completing the outfit with some simple black Loudboutin pumps and a black diamond bangle bracelet, she decided less accessories were definitely more when it came to this outfit. Her long ebony locks were bone straight and parted to one side, and her makeup was dark and flawless--smokey black outlined eyes and a peachy nude lip. Making her way into the foyer, her healed shoes clicked against the mahogany wood flooring as she approached the small decorative table that sat next to the front door. Picking up the black clutch that sat upon the table, she placed her cell phone, room key, lipstick, and lip gloss inside.

It was still a little early, but she figured she would at least run into Haleigh while waiting for the others to arrive. Plus, a stiff drink sounded fabulous. Exiting her suite, Ava headed down the hallway to the private elevator and hit the respective button for the floor that club Ambrosia was on. After a few moments, the elevator doors opened revealing the clubs lobby. Stepping off, she immediately spotted Dominique and her sister in what looked to be a rather deep conversation. Walking across the lobby, she approached the two, greeting them both with a small smile.

"Good evening...I hope i'm not interrupting anything?"

the Parthenon -- Ambrosia

Isis: Good evening...Although my NAME is Dominique...unless I missed some very critical information recently and we're supposed to be fighting again? Or do YOU PREFER the comfort and distance offered by using codenames, Black Widow?

Haleigh chuckled lightly as Dominique pointed out a seemingly standoffish habit of hers.

"Forgive me, Dominique. I try to remain professional if possible, I wasn't sure you'd be comfortable with being on a first name basis and didn't want to take the liberty and offend you in some way. I can be respectful, despite what you may have heard."

Isis: To know Diana is to chase a mirage. The closer one appears to get, the further away she actually is.

"Perhaps.... but the wind does not pass through the web without gaining intimate knowledge of its lacework and the spider that resides there."

The first verbal indication that Haleigh might have gleaned something from her time with Malice, which was probably a fair trade considering her entire soul had filtered through Diana's mind so much water through a sieve. Haleigh still hadn't told anyone, not even Zach, about the memories of Diana that she'd seen.

Isis:. But one thing is easily understood about her, Malice does not leave room for her..."work" to be questioned. What she did for you...it was as much about HER as it was about the truce. She wanted to show that nothing...not even Mystech or any of it's GHOSTS could out maneuver her.

"Ah, and indeed she did."

Haleigh DID BELIEVE that nothing could out maneuver Malice...... and the thought made her want to try it herself. It was almost.... unfortunate.... this truce. It was beneficial, to be sure, but it kept Haleigh from actively engaging the one person on earth that she thought to be a worthy adversary.

Isis: Speaking of your sister...I'm sure you are aware of the latest...tabloid gossip circulating regarding her and a rather.... ORDINARY looking boy named .....SIMON PRATT?

What ever happened to James? Haleigh had actually liked that one of Ava's boyfriends. But then.... you couldn't put too much stock in the tabloids. It was just as likely that Ava didn't even know the man, and that they had been photo-shopped together at some point.

Isis: of course we both know that these rags churn out lies as easily you or I breathe.

"Yes, I wouldn't count on the paparazzi as a credible investigative reporter. (After Isis mentioned Delilah) I'm sure Delilah just needs time to recover from the trauma of the ordeal and the LOSS of her newborn. I'm starting to think that too many people are relying on logic this time around.... and all the while disregarding the emotional mess. In Delilah's mind, she basically went through a MISCARRIAGE that killed her... TWICE. And everybody is asking her to look at it rationally and agree that it was for the best. And it WAS! But to be honest... I don't think that's fair to Delilah.... I don't think we can expect her to be rational right now. I think we should allow her to be wildly irrational and totally illogical and insanely emotional. Because that's how she feels and bottling that up will only make things worse."

After saying it out loud, she could hardly believe herself. How had she ever reached a place where logic was not the answer?? It was enough to make her head spin.... but the more she thought about it, the truer it rang.

Isis: Moreover...somethings are simply BEYOND good and evil. I think we ALL learned that with Set...

"SOME of us learned harder than others."

She replied with a steely tone, reliving the memory as an almost out of body experience. Malice had put Haleigh on full display after that one, with the purpose of creating fallout... and it worked, of course. The Six had been hit with an emotional nuclear warhead there. They were ALL irradiated. No one escaped exposure. Isis talked about the Blue Moon incident, lending another perspective to an out-of-focus picture for Haleigh. But then:

Isis: Cameron King was among the FIRST of your team to try to alleviate my suffering. He prooved to be...most impressive with his efforts.

The sultry tone of Dominique's voice, her body language seemed to grow.... pornographic for a few moments.... and Haleigh had the passing desire to say something but no..... it wasn't her business. She hadn't even heard from him in months. What-- and Who-- he did was not for Haleigh's judgement or approval, and she needed to keep that in mind.

And then, speak of the devil! A text message from the one and only Cameron King, scrolling across the bottom of her heads-up display.

Cameron>> Well, well, WELL Davidoff...I haven't even seen you yet but i've heard you have caused quite a COMMOTION...Glad to have you back...Your sister is joining the gang for drinks and debauchery at the Parthenon later..and your ass BETTER be there. Love, Stud.

Wouldn't miss it for the world.....

She sent back mentally, without even losing focus of Dominique.

Isis: So you see...even BEYOND the truce between our "teams"...I think about MYSELF and I realize and ACCEPT that there are many curious and unusual ties between your team and I that, for better or worse, BIND.

"True, that. Some connections transcend the Bullshit."

Ava: Good evening...I hope i'm not interrupting anything?

Haleigh turned to see her sister, killing fabulous as always. Haleigh realized she wasn't dressed for the club scene, as she was still wearing the clothes she'd been traveling in, dark tinted, tight fitting blue jeans, a black Guns'n'Roses vintage tee and a well worn leather jacket. Really tough, she wouldn't bother with a change. It wasn't worth the hassle and she had the self confidence to know she looked good in anything.

"No, you aren't interrupting at all! Sorry I missed our 'play date' this afternoon. A lot more time passed here than at Minerva's, I guess. I'm only just know getting back and I've run into Dominique. We were just chatting."

"Don't worry about it. I managed to pass the time."

And by pass the time she meant get swept up in the newest and hottest gossip story on the internet.

Haleigh: I'm only just know getting back and I've run into Dominique. We were just chatting.

Looking over at Dominique, Ava nodded to her politely.

"It's good to see you again, Dominique."

Dominique and Ava had a cordial relationship despite their 'opposing' sides. And she respected the woman, especially after Dominique helped her contact her mother. So there was no ill will felt towards the woman.

"Will you two be joining the festivities tonight? I hear Cameron has gone all out....which means i'm sure someone will end up topless or on fire."

She quipped with a laugh.

...

:: Dominique thought for a moment, remember her own darkest hours. Set ravaging her village, attacking and raping her sister, with she herself being powerless to stop him, though she did try. Then the wound was opened to a whole deeper level when Nicolas was born. His birth extinguished her light...forever. She tried to kill him, only to find he was PROTECTED by his unholy father's heritage. Grief, rage, an endless sense of loss and INSANITY drove her away from her village, away from any support system she might have had and into the unforgiving embrace of the hot, wind/sand storm driven, violent desert, where she lay...WILLING herself to die.::

:: She had empathy for Delilah indeed.::

Perhaps...

:: She said in a more somber tone::

the logic of it all is the ONLY thing that keeps most of your team functional at this moment, Haleigh.

:: she gestures toward the picture once again, specifically to MORGAN VICTORIA.::

One of your number is missing. absent. from you, your team, this WORLD.

Spellbinder is many things...but a COWARD is not one of them.

I was there that night, Haleigh. I watched everything unfold.

Your team's collective SHOCK was ONLY MATCHED by the sense of LOSS, HELPLESSNESS. The sense that they FAILED Delilah.

In those moments after Harbinger revealed what she had done, it made EVERYTHING they...WE had endured in our desperate battle against Circe seem almost...INCONSEQUENTIAL.

Spellbinder...she tired her best to SHIELD everyone, including Harbinger, from MorningStar's wrath and in doing so, she may have over extended herself as she attempted to IGNORE her own very real feelings of GRIEF and HELPLESSNESS over what was a hopeless situation. Spellbinder is a woman who thrives on success. The only thing worse than failure, is when that failure comes at the expense of a loved one.

LOGIC is no comfort in something like this. I should know. My own situation is not exactly the same as Delilah's but it is similar enough. Sometimes...it can be the ONLY beacon in a fog that not only surrounds you but OVERWHELMS you. It gives you ONE THING to hold on to until such time that there is a the smallest CHANCE to begin reforming...after being blown apart.

From my observation and the conversations I have had with Nicolas in the passing weeks...your team has suffered a tremendous trauma collectively. The sense of FAILURE and HELPLESSNESS has afflicted them more than you may know. For them, holding on to the "logic" of what happened may be the only thing that allows most of them to function. But for others...

:: again looking at Morgan's image and then back to Haleigh, as they were BOTH thinking of Delilah as well::

It may not be enough.

:: She paused...::

But just as I was revived when I had given up all hope, I do believe the same will occurr for Delilah. A woman of courage such as she will not go through life without reaping the REWARD of her valor. ISIS has prooven that to be so and I'm sure Ororo will do the same.

:: at that moment...::

Good evening, Ava.

:: Dominique nods with a pleasant tone and facial expression. Her interactions with Ava were never dull and thier relationship/association transcended The Six, as evidenced during the Blue Moon. ::

:: When asked if she would be joining them...::

I had heard from Cameron and Nicolas....SEVERAL times today...

:: she said with a rather annoyed tone::

...asking me to participate in this gathering...

:: Ava knew Dominique well enough to know how SHE felt about being around too many members of the Six at once. It was evident during the huge media event at the parthenon several months ago. She waited in the OPPOSITE wing of the stage from the others; During the "after party" she made only a BRIEF appearence before leaving.::

They asked me perform song for Firebird...Blaze.

My FIRST response was to DECLINE.

However...

After MUCH persuasion from both Nicolas and Cameron...I've decided that there won't be any harm in it...

:: taking note of Ava's quip...::

But then again,

:: with a bit of a sigh::

I've had the misfortune of being wrong before...

:: and as Ava laughed a bit, Dominique rolled her eyes up to the ceiling. She'd DEFINITELY come a long way with Nicolas in their personal relationship as aunt and nephew and CAMERON, he certainly had succeeded in getting her to loosen up, JUST a bit, from her persona of the cold, aloof, ball busting BLACK QUEEN of the Hellfire Club. But BOTH of them knew there was only SO FAR they could go with her before she would reprimand Nicolas or SLAP Cameron across the face! ;) ::

:: So there they were...Isis, Black Widow and Persephone; 1/3rd of the Sisterhood and 2/3rds of the Six, standing together, discussing spending the EVENING together! The times, they certainly WERE changing!::

Speaking of later, I was just on my way to prepare my song selection for the evening.

Nice to see you again, Ava.

:: Giving her a once over, noting her oufit::

I'm relieved to know the tabloids are once again wrong [about the pregnancy].

:: in a RARE display of familiarity with a member of the Six, Dominique gives Ava a knowing wink. Ava couldn't help but remember a few days ago, when Dominique utterly dismissed Simon and bumped him out of the way for a meeting with Cameron at Zenith. It would be INTERESTING to see how Dominique would react to seeing him again...on HER arm! ::

Haleigh, it was a nice...interesting conversation we had.

If you'll both excuse me....

:: She turns on her high heel and takes a few steps away, before stopping and turning back to look at them. Since she'd be seeing them again later...::

Ciao...for now.

:: and with that, she departs, walking toward the elevator and disappearing inside of it as it dings and the doors close::

So the next outfit was panned as well. Well, fuck it. He wore what Cameron told him to. It was worse than a well-appointed suit (he usually wore a suit to breakfast unless he was naked...he was EUROPEAN in upbringing by Jove!) but it seemed to make Lush 1 and 2 happy...so there. He wore it and walked with the others down to the waiting car. At the last second, Mike showed up, apparently having gotten the memo about dressing down. Nic and Mike exchanged pounds and he got some news.

Mike: Yeah...saw Hales. She and Ali were exchanging shittalking but I think they hugged it out. Haleigh is gonna try to help Dee; you should talk to her about your-

Nicolas shook him off as he interrupted him. He did not want whatever he did to become public. It was by him and for who he was trying to help.

All good man. I will be sure to say hey when I see her. I figured I would give her some time to settle in but her time is about up.

Nicolas shot a short text to Haleigh that was as loaded with meaning as it was brief.

I missed you.

He settled into the car and opened the liquor cooler. No need to waste it just because they were rolling. Nicolas passed the Jack Daniels to Mike and mixed himself a strong screwdriver, pausing to toast the lady of the evening.

To Blaze...the hottest piece of ass to be found anywhere!!

Laughing uproariously, Nicolas clinks glasses and downs his first drink of many.

Lot behind Melrose Place parking garage

Couldn’t she even leave without a federal case being made of it? Delilah was so itching to get away from Melrose Place she nearly LEAPT into the shimmering plane. But Alycia was going to invite a conversation just now, unfortunately, so she stood there, shuffling her feet.

Cassandra said:
“The Blue Moon…I FAILED you, and please don’t give me the bullshit platitude of telling me that it’s okay because we both know it wasn’t and it isn’t."

And then the girl started to cry.

“Jesus, no wonder they call you Baby.”

She resisted the urge to hand the girl a kleenex.

Cassandra said:
“I don’t blame you for wanting to leave. I probably would too, if I were in your shoes. But I just wanted to apologize for failing you that horrible night. It has been weighing on me for a long time. I’m not sure if you forgive me, and I certainly won’t blame you if you don’t, but I needed to apologize just the same.”

Delilah crossed her arms and smirked.

“Well, I’ll certainly sleep better knowing YOU won’t blame ME.”

Cassandra said:
“I really do hope you find whatever it is you’re looking for in New York.” *whispers*: “You deserve all the happiness in the world, Delilah. Good luck.”

Oh for chrissake…

She was to the point and matter of fact. It wasn't up to her to coddle the girl and make her feel better. Not anymore.

“Look. It wasn’t your responsibility. Your job that night was to protect me from anything that might have breached the perimeter. You did that. Your conscience is clear.”

She turned to walk towards the plane, then had a thought and turned back.

“Do NOT take the blame for things that they do. That is not your job on this team and don’t let them make it that. They knew what they were doing. Just make sure you aren’t on my end of things the next time.”

And with that she finished her walk to the plane, and stood next to it waiting for Alycia to let her inside.

Delilah...

:: Alycia interjected::

Don't be mean to her...

::SIGH!::

Well, Barnett, allowing THIS conversation to happen certainly wasn't the best idea. BUT...no one's perfect!

OH-KAY then.

:: Alycia said quickly as she took hold of Cass.::

Don't take it personal, kid.

Delilah is in a very bad way...and there's nothing you can say or do that will change that for her. But at least you did what you thought was right.

Just leave things where they are for now.

:: Turning Cass around, Alycia squeezes her shoulder. The boarding steps of Dome lower for Delilah to ascend and the craft powers up at Alycia's mental command.::

Have a good time with Cameron, Nicolas, Blaze and Sally. We'll see each other soon enough.

:: Alycia smiled as the winds picked up around Dome and her hair began to flow.::

:: As she watched Cass return to Melrose Avenue, she saw the headlights from the long, sleek black limo picking up the others. She quickly made her way to and inside of Dome and took her place at the helm::

And here we go!

:: She says as she briefly looks back to Delilah and the shimmering, crystaline craft lifts off the ground , does a 180 degree turn and begins to climb further up into the air picking up speed. Finally when reaching a dizzying high altitude, they TAKE OFF at full speed!::

:: After Alycia is certain that Delilah has adjusted to the changes of being inside Dome and now flying at high speed/altitude...::

We'll be out of California's airspace in a few moments!

Isn't this view from up there amazing?

....Are you feeling any better now?

Melrose Parking Garage

:: Delilah would have none of what she was saying. She even MOCKED her nickname at After Dark. But at least she didn’t throw Cass through the wall of the building behind her. That had to count for SOMETHING, right? But then Delilah said something interesting. ::

MorningStar said:

What? It wasn’t my responsibility? Huh?

*confused*: "Wha--?"

:: Alycia tried to smooth things over and came over to put an arm around her. ::

*sadly*: “I DID do what I thought was right…but you're right as well.” *softly*: "But I DID fail her, Alycia..."

:: Alycia turned her around and squeezed her shoulder. ::

Alycia said:

"I certainly will!"

:: She grinned at Alycia. The Amazon beauty turned and made her way into Dome as well. Cass waved on the off chance that they could see her as Dome took flight. She turned and made her way back to Melrose Avenue where she heard Cameron LOUD and clear. ::

Cameron said:
"CASSANDRA! Darling! We're leaving! So get your ass in the Limo in the next 90 seconds or you'll have to drive yourself...and this is LA...NOBODY passes up the chance to NOT DRIVE!"

:: Cass chuckled softly as she made her way back around to the parking garages. She pulled out her phone and texted Cameron. ::

Text to Cameron King said:
"NYAH! I have a new style I’m trying out tonight and I sure as hell don’t want to share my grand entrance with the likes of YOU! :p Oh, and FYI, I’m not your darling!! :haha:"

:: She was in sight of her car now. She pressed the unlock button on her car keys and quickly hopped to to her vehicle and settled in the driver’s seat, tossing her stellar heels on the passenger seat. She turned the engine on, and Black Beauty purred to life. She made her way out of the garage and drove past the limo waiting at Melrose Place, tooting her horn as she went by. She rolled down her window. ::

*yells* “Later, BITCHES!”

:: She rolled the window back up, laughing. She was in a feisty mood now, thanks to Cameron, and there was no way of knowing how this night would go!! ::

Dome

Alycia said:
Delilah...Don't be mean to her...

Delilah turned to Alycia with a “what the hell” expression. Mean? Mean would have been telling her that even with a bra that outfit would still make her look like the street corner special. She hadn't come CLOSE to "mean".

Someone she barely knew was weeping into her Jimmy Choos over something dead and gone. This girl would never make it in The Six if she didn’t toughen up. Hell, Delilah had mellowed and she could still eat her for breakfast. Morgan would boil her alive.

The bitch.

Delilah gave the girl a warning, so she’d at least have a chance, then boarded Dome with Alycia.

In minutes they were taking off, and then Alycia was doing tricks out of a Midwest airshow. Delilah gripped the armrests of her seat tightly. Thank god she hadn’t eaten in a few hours.

“Oh Jesus take the wheel.”

Gulping, she turned to look over at Alycia at the controls.

“No need to show off for ME – save it for Cameron girl.”

Delilah winked. She may have been preoccupied lately, but she wasn’t BLIND.

Alycia said:
We'll be out of California's airspace in a few moments! Isn't this view from up there amazing

Delilah exhaled slowly and nodded. It was beautiful, in an “Oh my god oh my god we’re all gonna die” sort of way. And anywhere was better than that rat’s maze of a city.

“I wouldn’t mind it if the hull wasn’t so…transparent…”

Alycia said:
....Are you feeling any better now?

She was getting used to the high speed and altitude, and began to relax into her seat.

“To tell you the truth, Alycia, it’s as if a giant weight has been lifted from my shoulders and getting lighter by the second. I am ready to go home again – and kick ass and take names. That’s what we do best, right?”

She looked out over the expanse of country below her, and smiled.

And so

<< Delilah enjoys a ride and view few will ever experience as Alycia carries her from one side of the country to the other in Dome. Just that journey has done wonders for Delilah's mindset as she anticipates going HOME again. Pity that she doesnt remember the old adage from Thomas Wolfe, "You can't go home again." Not even returning to NYC can truly fix what has been broken, she aims to try and that will be most interesting to see unfold.>>

<< Meanwhile Cameron, Nicolas and Blaze, all looking quite beautiful, head to the airport, where they are met by Cass and Sally Spectra. Cameron's private jet is fully prepped and stocked with all their needs and comforts as they too prepare for a luxurious (but not nearly as fast or at as high an altitude as Alycia and Delilah) sky ride to NYC.>>

<< Everything is feeling new and fresh to Blaze and if there's one thing she remembers about her own native time line, it's that as hard as the Six worked, they also PLAYED as hard. Would the all be able to last through the night & into the next day/evening? Would they even REMEMBER where they were when they woke up?>>

<< We shall see.>>

------------------------------------------------

<< And finally, at the destination for everyone, Ava, Haleigh and Dominique are already present, though Dominique has just taken her leave to prepare for events later in the evening, leaving Haleigh and Ava a few moments to talk amongst themselves. >>

<< Karen and Michael have also arrived in town, as they too will be apart of the tommorow's events for Blaze.>>

<< Several hours pass, with Alycia and Delilah arriving first and getting settle at the Parthenon in their respective suites. Alycia advises Delilah she will see her later, as she has something to take care of [with Michael and Karen]. Karen and Michael have already settled in their large diamond suite when Alycia arrives, knocking on their door.>>

<< Delilah, feeling more relieved (& not yet aware that the very people she was trying to distance herself from are ALL on their way here) with the chance to take a tour of sorts around the Parthenon after it's recent changes. She soon finds herself looking at the Spectra Boutiques, which are exclusive to V.I.P guests (of which she is considered). If she's going to be in town kicking ass, she'll need to LOOK the part and whatever she may feel about Morgan, she knows that designs from Sally Spectra will MORE than make her LOOK the part.>>

<< She may even find something ELSE she wasn't expecting, while there at the boutique.>>

------------------------------

<< Cameron's jet arrives and the group are soon transported to The Parthenon. Upon hearing that Sally Spectra was in the building, the staff of the boutique go into a FRENZY to prepare for her arrival and inspection of the store. Cameron ensures that everyone's quarters are prepared and everyone gets settled in. >>

<< Even as they all revel in the excitement of the evening and what lies ahead, the absence of some others is still noticed. Still there's nothing to do now but go FORWARD. It's what Blaze needs and deserves and Cameron and Nicolas intend to make sure that happens.>>

<< Into the night they go...>>

Here, There, and Everywhere

:: Now the time of feistiness had come to an end. As Cass pulled into her usual spot behind After Dark near the staff entrances, her good mood vanished, and nerves showed up. She was on her way to the airport, and she was running behind, but Bryan had INSISTED she come and show him her outfit. Then he was going to drive her to the airport. Cass slowly opened her door and pulled off her flats and put her heels on. She shut the door and locked it, heading for the employee only door. Pushing it open, she was instantly bombarded by Bryan Ross, the newest assistant manager. He looked amazing as always, though she’d never quite understand his fashion sense. What he wore would normally look insanely ridiculous on anyone else but on him…it worked. ::

Bryan: “Wow, Babes, you look SMASHING as always. I definitely have an eye for fashion, if I do say so myself. I mean, look at you: it definitely shows off your assets, emphasis on the ‘ASS’.”

*uncertain*: “You think so? Maybe I’ve gone about this all wrong…?”

Bryan: “No…no! Do NOT make a switcheroo with anything in that closet of yours in your office. Yes, I know you have one; I peeked. You look hot, and you will take New York City by storm.”

:: Cass looked beyond Bryan at her closed office door. ::

*weakly*: “Maybe I should…maybe I should just stay?”

:: Bryan shook his head and pulled the beauty into HIS office. ::

Bryan: “Babes, if I were single AND heterosexual, I’d throw you over my desk right now and have my way with you. Now, why don’t you tell me what’s REALLY going on?”

:: Cass fiddled with Bryan’s pens in the holder on the desk. The truth was that she wanted to start dating again. She stared at Bryan. ::

*small voice*: “Bryan…am I pretty?”

:: Bryan sighed. He KNEW this was coming. He went to Cass and took her by the hand and led her to the couch that was in his office. He set her down and sat down beside her. ::

Bryan: “Cassie, it’s been a few years since your relationship ended, am I right?”

:: Though Bryan knew about Cass’ past, he didn’t KNOW the full scale of it. Oh, he knew she was a succubus and that she had had a relationship that had gone sour, but he didn’t know about the Holocaust or the fact her ex was a crazy person working for MysTech…if he was even still alive. Cass blinked back tears and nodded. ::

Bryan: “YOU are drop dead gorgeous, Babes. It’s time to let others know about it now. It’s time to move on, and find somebody worth YOUR attention. Have you finally decided to start dating again?”

:: Cass didn’t speak for fear of bawling so she just nodded. She swallowed. ::

*whispers*: “Yes.”

:: Bryan smiled softly and hugged Cass. ::

Bryan: *fondly*: “I’m so happy for you, Cassie.”

:: He got up and pulled Cass up with him. Cass’ phone beeped, and it was Cameron wondering where the hell she was. :p Bryan placed a hand on her lower back, protectively, and escorted her to the door. Just before Cass opened the door, he stopped her. ::

Bryan: “I know that you have a certain image to uphold, but I have to say, I think of you as a sister. I truly do. I love you, Cassandra Johnson.”

:: He kissed her on the forehead and gently wiped her eyes as tears starting making their escape. Bryan was all she had to some sort of family, she truly knew that NOW, and she really appreciated his words. ::

*hoarsely*: “THANK YOU. I love you too.”

:: They both went outside. Bryan turned too Cass and placed both hands on her shoulders. ::

Bryan: *sternly*: “Now, NO MORE tears. This is a BIG night for you and I want you to have fun, okay? Don’t worry about AD. I have it ALL handled, all right?”

:: Cass grinned. Bryan always was there for her. He was pretty much the only person, with Ella being the possible exception, she could count on. ::

“Aye, aye, Captain!”

:: They both got in the car and made their way to the airport in record time, with Bryan throwing his opinions on Cameron King in the mix. Cass’ eyes widened as he made shockingly explicit descriptions of what he wanted to do to New York’s Golden Boy if given the chance. Cass just shook her head. Bryan already was in a committed relationship, but he made NO apologies for lusting after various men. ::

*amused*: “I’ll make sure that you stay FAR AWAY from Cameron!”

:: They both got out of the car and made their way to Cameron and his band of merry men [and women!]. Bryan grabbed Cass and turned her around. ::

Bryan: “Doesn’t Miss Johnson look insanely beautiful tonight?! And just LOOK at her dress! It accentuates her deliciously perfect ass beautifully!”

*relieved*: “Okay, first of all, these guys are taken—“

:: Cass was a BIT embarrassed by Bryan’s fuss but before she could finish, BLAZE interrupted!! ::

Blaze: *wickedly*: “I’m not!”

:: And before Cass could do anything, the fire elemental GRABBED her butt and squeezed! Cass’ eyes widened in shock. ::

*mortified*: “BLAZE!!

:: The group bursted into laughter. Cass was MORTIFIED. ::

“Okay, you fools! You’ve had your fun! Now let’s get to New York!”

:: With that she headed for the plane and boarded. ::

<<some time later…>>

:: The partying spirit continued on in the air. Cass felt herself relax more and more. She didn’t say much herself, but she WAS glad she was here with her new friends and also that she was here FOR Blaze as well. Soon enough the plane touched down and they all piled off the plane and into the waiting limo waiting to take them to The Parthenon. Cass received helped getting out of the limo from the waiting bellhop. ::

Bellhop: “Welcome back to The Parthenon, Miss Johnson! I trust you find your quarters to your liking.”

“Thank you.”

:: She followed everybody inside. ::

“NOW what?”

:: She turned to Blaze. ::

"How the hell will I ever choose what to do first? I mean, look at this place! It's amazing!"

:: Just like when she was transported along with everyone else to Morgan's fashion show a few months back, Cass was still in awe of the hotel and all that it offered. Hell, she even got herself lost once or twice when she visited the underground Danger Room for her training with Cameron. ;) ::

Dominique: Speaking of later, I was just on my way to prepare my song selection for the evening. Nice to see you again, Ava.

"You as well, Dominique."

Dominique: I'm relieved to know the tabloids are once again wrong [about the pregnancy].

Ava rolled her eyes and shook her head.

"HA, yeah, thanks."

She deadpanned before giving the goddess a small smile as she departed. Looking over to Haleigh, she KNEW her sister was chomping at the bit to find out what the hell happened to cause this media uproar. Waving her hand dismissively.

"DON'T even ask. I have no idea how our brunch turned into me knocked up and engaged to him. But, hopefully I proved ONE of those rumors false."

She stated with a smirk as she ran her hands down her skin tight dress. She decidedly chose not to explain that the engagement rumor came from Simon actually LOOKING like he was proposing to Ava during their lunch. It was far too ridiculous to even try and explain how that came about.

"Want to grab a drink?"

That was like asking a fish liked to swim. Smiling as Haleigh began to lead the way into Ambrosia, she took a seat at the bar and placed her clutch on the bartop.

"Jack on the rocks--actually make it a double."

The bartender nodded before looking at Haleigh. He placed a small white beverage napkin in front of both sisters as Haleigh gave her drink order.

"How was your talk with Alison?"

If Haleigh missed a danger room session because her encounter with Alison went longer than expect, Ava KNEW something real interesting went down between the two. She just hoped Minerva's Mansion was still in one piece.

LAX to NYC

The limo ride to the airport was one filled with laughs and champagne and many fun photographs. Everybody was in good spirits though they were still painfully aware of the missing parts of their family. Cameron had indavertanly become the leader of the team out of necessity and right now he was focusing his efforts on things he KNEW he could fix. Cameron and Nicolas had worked very well together to ensure Blaze's permanence in this timeline and he hoped tonight that she would get everything she felt like she was missing and maybe more.

As the limo arrived at the airport, everybody was ushered into Cameron's jet and soon Cassandra showed up with a very odd and sassy co-worker. Shaking his head for a moment he welcomed Cassandra into the jet with open arms and before long they were in the air and on their way to New York City...

<< Some Time Later...>>

Ah. The smell of garbage, urine and the sound of thousands of angry voices yelling at each other all at once. He was most definitely home. Cameron wasn't sure when it had happened but somewhere along the way he had lost the affinity he had for Los Angeles and had become convinced that Manhattan was truly where he belonged. This was where he found his family, this was where he became what he was today. Before long the town cars had arrived at The Parthenon and everybody was given their rooms and essentials. In their penthouses they would find somewhat of an itinerary, alerting them to what time they were to arrive at Club Envy for the evening and things of that nature...but for now, they had some time that was theirs.

Cameron walked down the hall passed Reception Desk and pressed the button for the private elevators that The Six and their allies only had access to. Once inside he pressed the button for the 95th floor, the highest floor in the Parthenon and the one that housed his home. It was larger than the rest of the Penthouses as it took up the entire floor, but being as Cameron was somebody who worked non-stop, it only made sense that his permanent residence be on top of the hotel he had created. Not to mention that his residency allowed him to be close to all of the wonders the hotel had to offer. It was a win-win situation for him. As the doors opened right into his Penthouse, he took a few moments to go over some personal business, checking his mail, listening to messages on his phone and responding to some e-mails. Great success did not come without great work and though Cameron usually found enough time to enjoy a rather great personal life, he often found work pervading into much of his time. Once some small business had been done he went over to his desk and picked up the occupancy reports for the day. They were sitting at 98% which was fantastic and nearly every VIP booth of the lower floors clubs were booked for the evening. This meant a LOT of people and a LOT of noise. Cameron was an incredibly social person but even HE sometimes liked to step out of the doors of his penthouse and not be recognized. He decided to grab a drink and maybe an appetizer from The Parthenon's EXCLUSIVE VIP Clubhouse.

The Clubhouse was on the 92nd Floor and it was only accessible to those who maintained actual residency at The Parthenon, all of whom resided on floors 80-92, stopping just below the floors for the allies of the Six on Floor 93 where people like Dominique Devereaux maintained residency. The Clubhouse had monthly dues but decadent accomodations like a Private Bar, Billiards, Booths and Table Service, but perhaps it's most enjoyable feature was the large and expansive outside Patio area complete with fire pits, gorgeous flora and fauna and a far cozier more relaxed atmosphere than many of the entertainment spaces outside of The Starlight Lounge. He didn't want to go alone so he shot a message to Cassandra.

Hey Cassandra! Welcome back to The Parthenon! I thought i'd have a drink and an appetizer at The Clubhouse. Floor 92! Care to join me? I'll be there in just a few moments!"

Cameron had not really gotten to know Cassandra outside of a rigorous Danger Room session he had put her through a few weeks back, and that wasn't the most comfortable setting to open up and laugh with each other. He was intrigued by her. She was getting her baring in the group and struggling to find her way, and Cameron definitely remembered those times for him in The Six, when half of his team members wanted to kill him for simply being "alive" and in a time of great uncertainty amongst teammates, the more positive relationships created, the better.

Taking leave of his house, he soon found his way down to the VIP Clubhouse where the Host smiled and welcomed him with open arms, taking him out to the Patio where his permanent VIP booth was. A nice and comfy spot with large sofas and a large fire pit in the center...not to mention an INCREDIBLE view of the City around him. He ordered a Dirty Martini and Bruschetta...he would wait until Cassandra arrived to order anything else.

The Parthenon - Lobby / Clubhouse

:: As Cass continued to look around, her phone beeped again...and then again. She pulled out her phone from her bag. Two texts. One from Bryan wishing her luck tonight and the other was from Cameron. He wanted her to join him in the clubhouse for a drink. She shrugged. ::

What the hell

:: She texted him back. ::

Text to Cameron King said:
As if this night hasn't been filled with alcohol already, why the hell not? Be there shortly...I hope! :p

:: She snickered at the inside joke of her getting lost on her way to the Danger Room. She turned to Blaze. ::

*apologetically*: "Apparently Mr. King wants to have a drink in the clubhouse with me." *laughs*: "I'm sensing a theme with him. Catch up with YOU later, Blazing Hot Victory!"

:: She headed for the elevator she THOUGHT 'belonged' to the Six....and it turned out she was right. ::

Yes! Everything's coming up, Milhouse!!

:: She pressed the button for the ninety-second floor and the elevator was on its way. ::

Even the ELEVATORS are drop dead gorgeous. Nothing was left to chance.

:: Cameron really was good for The Parthenon, Cass had to admit. He did an outstanding job with everything. The elevator door opened and Cass was stunned. There was NO WAY she could get lost up here, as the Clubhouse was most definitely 'in your face'. Though Cass was pretty much a multi-millionaire, thanks to her lawyers and financial consultant, along with her wise investment of her family's money she had found buried on her familial estate after the war, she didn't act like it due to her shortened upbringing in Poland. Her parents instilled in both her and her brother that status didn't mean much if you weren't kind and compassionate, helpful to your neighbour and all that. Cass was grateful she never lost that attitude after everything she went through. She appraoched the entrance but before she opened her mouth, the host spoke. ::

Clubhouse Host: "Welcome to the Clubhouse, Miss Johnson! Mr. King is already waiting for you outside on the patio. Is there anything I can get for you this evening?"

"Um, I'll just have an apple martini?"

Clubhouse Host: "EXCELLENT choice, Miss Johnson. I'll have one of the servers bring it by shortly."

:: Cass nodded and peered inside. She admired the decor and the variety of the booths. The booths looked soft and inviting. She wrinkled her nose slightly at the fire pit. She had lost too many people she loved in the crematoriums during the Holocaust and though she used to love fires as a child, now she couldn't stand the sight of it. CANDLES were the exception. She headed inside, taking in the inviting atmosphere. She resisted the urge to run a hand on the soft plush of the booths as she walked by. There was hardly anybody inside. A few people glanced in her direction, but nobody called the cops on her so she felt okay. ;) She walked through the doorway to the patio....and was instantly taken by surprise the SPECTACULAR view of New York Landmarks including the always beautiful Central Park. Cass spotted Cameron and walked to his table, sitting down on the other side of it. ::

"Well, Cameron King, this is a really nice place you've got going on here. REALLY nice. This view...it's impressive."

:: A server brought her martini to her. Cass nodded her thanks and took a sip. ::

The Parthenon

Delilah and Alycia parted ways once they arrived at Parthenon, Delilah dropping her things in her suite on the 94th floor. She’d spent too much time sitting in her room, and her apartment at Melrose Place, to stay cooped up now that she was back in town. It was so nice to be on her own without all the eyes on her.

She headed downstairs, dressed in black leather pants and an embellished top, stopping on her way out to browse in Sally Spectra’s boutique on the second floor.

No thanks to Morgan, she was sure, Sally certainly had some nice stuff. Delilah decided to flip through the displays. She was desperately in need of a new wardrobe, and this was as good a place to start as any. She picked up a short metallic gold colored dress and held it up to herself in the mirror.

A commotion caught her eye behind her, and Delilah turned to see Sally Spectra waltzing into the shop like a tornado.

Cam does it first class. Nice to see. THIS was what Nicolas was used to before he teleported everywhere. Party at 5 miles up, beautiful women and alcohol. Nicolas did his share of flirting and drinking and, even with HIS constitution, he felt SLIGHTLY tipsy by the time they landed. He enjoyed the ride in as he shook it all off and, before he went to his suite, he had a stop to make.

So he knocked at Dominique Devereaux's door with 8 of her favorite flowers in an arrangement. 8 represented Isis' station as a healer as it symbolizes the twin cobras of the caduceus.

As the avatar opened the door, he presented the flowers with a huge smile.

Flowers almost as beautiful as you Auntie D.

By now their relationship had progressed quite a bit. Se would yell at times, but Nic knew also how to make her smile. He hugged her and kissed her cheek as he was let in.

I wanted to thank you for doing this for us. Hearing you sing makes me happy. Maybe one day I- never mind. I just wanted to say thanks SO much. How have you been Dominique?

Nicolas almost spilled a personal wish, but he was hesitant to ask and changed the subject. He leaned back and smiled, trying to forget he had almost done that.

Parthenon - VIP Clubhouse

Cameron was just taking a sip of his martini as he saw Cassandra enter the Patio area, looking far more scandalous than usual. He winked at her as she sat down and the server brought her martini along with the bruschetta that Cameron had ordered when he first arrived.

Cassandra: Well, Cameron King, this is a really nice place you've got going on here. REALLY nice. This view...it's impressive.

The telepath nodded as he took another sip of his dirty martini and smiled.

"Well, thank you! I'm sure you can see why I prefer The Parthenon to Los Angeles. I'm like a kid in a candy store here...Speaking of candy..."

He grabbed Cassandra's hand and motioned her to stand up for a moment.

"Damn, Johnson! You are just looking for trouble in that dress tonight! Bravo!"

Letting go of her hand, he returned to his seated position and slinked back into the booth in a far more relaxed space.

"This is one of my favorite places in The Parthenon, it's one of the few places I can go in the city without being hounded in some kind of way. There IS something to be said for exclusivity. Anybody who can afford a membership to this place PAYS for privacy.."

[taking a bite of the delicious food]

"I sure hope you enjoy Club Envy tonight. It's one of the most popular clubs in the city and filled a big void for citizens after we unfortunately let Foxfire's club slip out of our hands...I've never been to After Dark, but I've heard really great things about it from the others, must be a fun place to manage...."

Cameron nodded to one of the servers who looked like he was waiting on pins and needles for further instructions, and in fact he WAS. Anytime Cameron was in a venue of The Parthenon, the employees seemed to be nervously on high alert. His nod meant to go ahead and prepare another round of drinks for the two of them.

"I'm also glad you are getting to see a little bit more of this place outside of The Danger Room...you realize that being a part of this group means you now have exclusive access to The Parthenon that very few people get! And from the looks of that dress, I can see you are more than ready to enjoy THAT!"

"Tell me, Cassandra. How are you doing? We don't have to get very deep, I know you've kind of been trying to navigate through our group..it's not easy for sure...I mean, there was a time when I wasn't even allowed in the same BUILDING as Morgan and Alison...You seem a little more relaxed and jovial today...which is a good thing..."

[thinking for a moment]

"I've got an idea...why don't we play a game? I'm your guide to The Six tonight, Cassandra! What are some things you've always wanted to know about us, but felt too shy or uncomfortable asking? Let's turn the heat up a little shall we?"

He smiled as he awaited Cassandra's response.

Spectra Boutique

:: Sally Spectra arrived, clapping her hands loudly::

Good evening boys and girls!

:: everyone rushing about and quickly lining up, with the store manager at the front of the line::

I'm glad to see that things are busy around here...

:: The store manager is about to present Sally with sales totals for the last quarter when she holds up her hand::

My dear, I am NOT some cookie cutter retailer like MACY'S. I don't live by numbers...QUALITY speaks for itself, which is why we don't rely on generic media outlets for advertising.

We cater to the upscale client who has discerning taste and values quality and service. We DAZZLE them with our unique designs and we build relationships that LAST...

:: Her eye is drawn to the sight of a slender blonde in the shop, just a few feet away::

speaking of relationships....

Well, WELL....

:: Walking over to Delilah Trelevan who, for a BRIEF moment, looked like a deer caught in the headlights as Sally Spectra zeroed in on her::

Hello there, pretty lady! I didn't expect to see a familiar, friendly face here tonight! But that makes it all the more better.

How ya doing, honey...

:: Sally asked in a concerned tone...::

Pshhh...go on now, I'll take the five and dime tour shortly, Right now I wanna talk to my friend here! give us some privacy will ya!

::as she waved the staff that had been following her away and back to their posts, leaving the two alone ::

Sally started to take that pitying tone, but Delilah cut her off quickly.

“Fabulous. You’ve really outdone yourself this season, Sally.”

Delilah turned back to the full length mirror as Sally shooed her minions away, leaving them alone.

“What do you think of this? I’m in the mood for a new look.”

the Parthenon -- Ground Floor Lobby

Isis: Perhaps...the logic of it all is the ONLY thing that keeps most of your team functional at this moment, Haleigh. :: she gestures toward the picture once again, specifically to MORGAN VICTORIA.:: One of your number is missing. absent. from you, your team, this WORLD. Spellbinder is many things...but a COWARD is not one of them. I was there that night, Haleigh. I watched everything unfold. Your team's collective SHOCK was ONLY MATCHED by the sense of LOSS, HELPLESSNESS. The sense that they FAILED Delilah.

"Yes, I was telling Alison.... it sounds like it was hard ALL AROUND. Delilah fails to acknowledge that Morgan and Alison had to make one of the world's most difficult decisions.... but at the same time, Alison and Morgan weren't prepared to truly accept Delilah's rage and grief. Until each woman can concede that the other wasn't wrong --or at least that they did the best they were capable of at the time-- they won't be able to reconcile."

Haleigh listened as Dominique continued, discussing the efforts Spellbinder made to bear the brunt of the responsibility. That may explain why she was absent now. Morgan did an honorable thing taking the blame.... but she wasn't really equipped to deal with that.... that was something that would have been a 'Haleigh's thing to do....and it wouldn't have fazed her. Haleigh had made some tough calls in her life, and faced the fallout unflinching. It wasn't that she didn't care, just that she could separate the emotions from the decisions.... and she could literally justify ANYTHING to herself, which was all she needed.

Isis: From my observation and the conversations I have had with Nicolas in the passing weeks...your team has suffered a tremendous trauma collectively. The sense of FAILURE and HELPLESSNESS has afflicted them more than you may know. For them, holding on to the "logic" of what happened may be the only thing that allows most of them to function. But for others... :: again looking at Morgan's image and then back to Haleigh, as they were BOTH thinking of Delilah as well:: It may not be enough.

"Well, I understand ALL TOO WELL the need to cling to logic. I just don't think that's serving them well in interpersonal relations."

The more they talked, the more they agreed, which was scary to think about. One on one, Haleigh got along great with the leadership of the Hellfire Club. Even her and MALICE could be cordial and casual. The ease with which she interacted with Dominique reminded her of Diana's invitation for her to JOIN the Hellfire group.... as White Princess. She had declined, of course. Haleigh was destined to be part the Six, that much she accepted. Her initiation into the Inner Circle would throw off the balance of good and evil. But was it as simple as heroes and villains? Isis seemed less villainess every day, and after learning of Diana's childhood travesty, even HER behavior didn't seem so crazy. And their motto... "Power without Consequence"...... Haleigh could hardly admit to HERSELF that it sounded appealing, let alone say it out loud to her family.

Ava: Will you two be joining the festivities tonight? I hear Cameron has gone all out....which means i'm sure someone will end up topless or on fire.

"Likely BOTH, knowing Cameron."

She replied with amusement. Isis mentioned that the boys had finally talked her into performing, which would be a welcome entertainment. She excused herself to prepare. Haleigh said her polite goodbyes and turned to her sister with an expressive brow.

Ava: DON'T even ask. I have no idea how our brunch turned into me knocked up and engaged to him. But, hopefully I proved ONE of those rumors false.

"Well, it'll blow over by tomorrow, believe me."

They headed back to the bar, and a new bartender came over and introduced himself, getting Ava's drink order before turning back to Haleigh.

"She will have a Gentleman Jack double on the rocks. God, can't take her ANYWHERE."

She amended playfully, elbowing her sister lightly and winking at the bartender before continuing.

"Trust me, it's much better. Smoother, and more palatable flavors. I'll have a Glenfidditch Rob Roy."

Bartender: Sweet or Dry?

"Sweet."

Bartender: Glenfidditch 12 year, or 15?

"15, thank you."

Ava: How was your talk with Alison?

"Oh you know, we're all still alive."

She said dryly, showing off the knuckles on her left hand, which were healing faster than normal, but still marred by new looking scars.

"I talked to Mike, Karen AND Sharon, also. The more people I talk to, the harder it is to define the right and the wrong if it all. I just wish I had been here......"
