Hiya huns ;)

It's coming around to that time of year again.. all the holidays are knocking at our door...

Do you have special plans this year? do you even celebrate the holidays and if you do (or don't) how do you usually spend them?

Well, Thanksgiving is always with my big, huge, gigantical (lolz) family. 3 aunts, all their kids, their husbands, some of their husbands family, and other extended family. Lots of cuban food. Rice and Beans, Yuca, ect are main dishes along with Turkey and other things.

Noche Buena (Christmas Eve) is pretty much the same thing...but w/ Chicken, ham, and a lot more liquor! lolz. New Years Eve, I have no idea wat Im doing this year.

But i'm not really looking forward to Christmas this year. Last year I was, because I now realize I just wanted a distraction from my mother's death. This year, it's just...blah. I don't really even want presents. Weird, huh? I know I need to be thankful for what I have and know that others have less. I don't think of it for presents. I use it to celebrate the birth of Christ.

Don't do anything for thanksgiving and i'm the only one in my family that celebrates Christmas lol. I have to put up the tree and all the stupid decorations and do this and that, then my mom makes the food, and it's really just us and them my brother's family.

I usually spend Yule alone but since i started my group, i've been spending it with other pagans in the area, quite fun :)

Just an interesting idea, how would a Secret Santa work out in MOE? Like anyone interested could sign up with whoever plans it and then they could buy a weapon/jewelry/something for the person. Be kinda neat :)

Ooo...I like that, Amy! The Secret Santa I mean. That would be fun. The DW's would assign everyone who signs up someone different!

by now, the "holiday season" has become a bit of a chore for me lol.....traveling, shopping for gifts...getting the house decorated...getting my "winter outfits" for the social occasions sorted...and fretting about counting calories after dinners lol.

its all become tedious....but what helps me is knowing that its definately an excuse to spend more time with my mother and close friends....though we should enjoy them ALL YEAR ROUND...its good to get into the festive spirit of things.

Well with the baby almost due I'm not sure how my holidays will look this year, we don't celebrate Thanks Giving over here (US thingie) so it comes down to X-mas and new years..

Probably be spending christmas at home with the hubby and the new baby, btw Netherlands is one of the few countries that celebrates 2 days of chirstmas, the 25th and the 26th of december.. don't ask me why but that's the way we do it...

Then for new years.. well I live on the 4th floor (top floor) of an appartment complex and I have a great view of the city I live in from here.. and since those crazy Dutch people set of a so much fire works I think I'll be just inside having some nice champagne and who ever wants to come around is welcome ;)

You will never catch a husband being so skeeeny! Eat! Eat!

Sorry, my inner grandmother escaped for a moment.

As for the Holidays, I really don't get excited about Thanksgiving and have no time at all for Christmas/Yule. Other than I try to say a prayer of Thanks at Yule and pray for the suns return like a good little pagan boy.

I'm already having my holidays, and actually it's pretty boring, since I have a holiday job as well.

Awww that sounds so nice Ri :) Love the apartment, i'd probably spend all my time up there watching the city :) lol. Here we have Christmas Eve on the 24 and Christmas Day on the 25 lol, kinda weird and odd but it works lol.

Good little pagan boy lmao, that's cute. I'm probably going to be going down to Las Vegas to live with my brother for christmas :) yay lol.

I really looks forward to holidays, especially Christmas because it is really a special day for us...Her in my country,(Philippines) peolle are really preparing and celebrating Christmas, this is the time of the year when the whole family will gather to celebrate and it was much fun, especially the gift-giving part..lol:D

:: slaps her again for good measure ::

well i cant wait cause this T-giving ill be cooking deserts and other little appetizers which i love to do and ill get to see family and on christmas i love shopping and getting gifts as well as ill get to see my sis after a few months of her being in Michigan :D

  you slap happy whore! you enjoyed posting that just a bit too much i think lol:p

rest assured......i LOVE shopping ..i simply dont care for the droves of idiots that seem to come out to the shopping centers ONLY during the holidays.....and they always bring their screaming, bratty and brainless children who get in your way as they wander about with no sense of discipline.

I LOVE the holidays. I love going shopping for my closest friends and family! (Even thought I get nearly flat broke by the end of the year :p)

I just love the idea of having family over and since I hardly ever see my family since mine lives so far away from the rest of my family, I actually enjoy the brainless children and screaming of my cousins. It reminds me of the old days, before I moved so far away from them! :D:D

For all you people out there who live in the US region and celebrate Thanks Giving..

HAPPY THANKS GIVING !!! :D : grinyes

Hey all, when you get the chance, hope on over to my new little thread here. We're going to be starting Secret Santas, so everyone hop on board!

OOOo shopping, shopping is good and getting gifts is even better :D

*runs around all excited*

Shopping is a sport, I do not care what anyone says and it is the best sport of all :p, though I see your point Farrah about it becoming arduous when idiots are there. AND how about how its always the slow check out clerks hierd and working during the holidays? Gawd would make one go insane :p

I can't post in the secret santa thread :'( I keep getting a bulletin message that says totally nothing :'(

anyway about my holidays ofcourse first buying presents and stuff and then on th first christmas day we will spend the day at home and the second day the family get's together at my grandmoms house :D. but first here in holland we will have sinterklaas :D:D (a holiday that is much like cristmas only it's on december the 5th and it's not santa but a other guy that brings presents, altho he looks much like santa ;))

i had that two Jen, you may need to add a few more words to the post ;)

Haha, i get that too sometimes.

I hate going christmas shopping...not like i ever do because my parents dont let me get a job and they dont give me allowance...so basically my mom buys all the gifts for everyone :) lmao. But then she drags me with her, and i swear to god, i want to clobber all those damn check clerks...no one takes that long to ring you up!!! x.x I'd pull them out and ring up all the crap myself and be out in like 5 minutes.
