I've been going through my paper comics and really seeing what I have and what I have digital. And I really want to recommend this app. It is terrific! (I'm not getting anything for saying this lol - I wish I was!)

I NEVER pay for apps. Like NEVER. But I did shell out the $14.99 for this one and the $3 for the barcode scanner and it worked so well. You can just scan all your comics and it puts it into the app with all the info and the right cover and all that. I went through all my comics in a couple hours. And now I can tell what I have when I go to buy. (I do recommend using the barcode scanner rather than trying to use the camera on your device, because it went much faster and was more accurate.)

I also bought the computer software (after doing the free trial) and I like the combination, but you don't have to have both. having the computer version lets you add fields more easily and mass edit.

There's also ones by the same company for music & movies, and books I think. If you need a catalog, it's worth the money.

Could see myself using the movie version. Don't have that many comics but I do have a "few" VHS and DVD's.

Already have them stored in a database that I created myself many, many years ago though.
But it really is ancient and a pain to work with so I have a tendency too cheat and don't update it properly.

I am the same. But I feel like I'm not out and browsing movies often and I can generally remember what I have, so I don't know that I need it for that myself.

Yeah, it's not so much having access to the database in the phone that is interesting.
These days I only buy stuff online. (Which is kinda sad, I bought much more odd movies and stuff before when I visited a local DVD store almost weekly. But that's another thread...).

What I really like is the idea of just scanning a barcode and the movie is added.
Wonder though if that will work on movies bought here in Sweden. Are these barcodes global?

What I don't like is to store my data on their servers.
I would prefer to have it on my own server.

Hmm...well I don't think you would have to upload it. The program for you computer I know you can export the file, so you could probably keep that on your own server.
