Convergence Discussion (Spoilers for Current Title)

Okay, folks, let's start up an ongoing discussion of Convergence.

Issue #0 came out today. Pretty good - a more interesting setup than I thought it was going to be. I'm not usually a Brainiac kind of person, but the concept of different realities competing for survival is intriguing. Though I'm worried about what's going to come out of all this in the end.

Any thoughts?

So, Convergence #1.

It started off very confusing. They need to put something explaining which timeline the group you are reading is from. It ended very strong - but when I see Thomas Wayne as Batman that makes me think Flashpoint, but it wasn't Flashpoint continuity. So instead of reading what's going on, I'm trying to make sense of who's who and that's no good. At first I wasn't sure if the survivors dumped on Telos were from the same Earth that we saw in the beginning or not. And I guess I'm still not sure about that, because there would have been two Supermans then. See, confusing.

Granted, I gave up on reading the Earth 2 stuff. BUT if they want new readers coming in, it's going to be even worse for them than it was for me.

Convergence is one of those crossovers that already I like the tie ins way more then the actual main series, it also doesn't help that each time i think Marvel and Dc made the same event this year I burst out laughing but hey.

Main series aside though the Convergence: Question title made all this worth it just to get a continuation/epilogue to the Renee Montoya/Question storylines that I love by Greg Ruska (the original writer) same for Convergence Nightwing/Oracle (written by Gail Simone) and Convergence Superboy (can't remember the writer but I just miss that version of Superboy)

I LOVED the Batmans meeting, and though I don't usually read Grayson, I like him in this. I like that there is a distinct "Batman" thread running through this thing. It feels like every event centers on Superman, or maybe the Flash lol

Also really liked what they did with Kandor (other than the fact that now it doesn't exist).

As for the tie-ins I actually think I'm liking Batman and the Outsiders, because that is the Batman voice I know lol, and Shadow of the Bat - two which I wouldn't have guessed.

Don't like the boring Stephanie Brown stuff - they should have made CC the focus of the Batgirl title. Maybe next issue we'll get that. I could also leave Green Arrow, Teen Titans and Suicide Squad - but they might have set stuff up to be better in the next issue.

That ending of Nightwing/Oracle #1 was great!

Okay, so just finished #8. Still a little confused but this one was much better I thought. I feel like I need to go back and reread everything to really understand it.

So what are we left with? A Multiverse that is similar to but not completely the same as we had post Crisis? And all the Earth 2 refugees are now heading to the "new" Earth 2?

I feel like there were too many ideas in this thing...
