As they run through the gate, there is a moment of disorientation and a feeling of falling, almost as if the ground had dropped away from underneath them. Most start to stumble as the reach the other side, but manage to recover before falling. They can only wonder at what might be happening to their friend who had chosen to remain with Gossamer on the other side. Toby's last sight of Sydney was of her lashing out at the monsters with her enchanted weapon and taking to the air. He knew that if Sydney managed to make it into the air, They would never be able to reach her and she and Gossmer would be safe.

Once on the other side of the gate, everyone starts feeling strange. Where in the forest, they had felt drained, now it seemed that they were extremely energized. They have no chance to explore this feeling or to even find out what it might mean to each of them as they are suddenly faced with one of the creatures from the forest who has followed them through the gate. The creature slowly at first then with more speed, begins to grow, becoming the size of a full grown horse, then that of a car. It continues to grow and hisses loudly at the group.
 
The creature continues to grow and threaten the group. Its fangs drip some sort of venom or ichor on the ground and by this time, its grown large enough that the vile stuff is eating away at the ground itself rather than simply withering grass. It turns its baleful eyes upon the group and starts to advance towards them...
 
:: Kurama falls through the barrier a bit disoriented. His body is like jumping inside. He feels extremely energized and hyper. Before he can find the source. He hears a hissing and sees one of Them there and growing bigger and bigger. In a normal reaction of firght he throws his hands up, which if he had powers would blow up one of the creatures legs. He waits to see what would happen ::
 
Rama's magical attack blows up an area around the creature, far more of an area than Rama was attempting to blow up, but the thing seemingly absorbs the portion directed at it, almost as if eating it. The thing experiences a growth spurt of sorts after digesting the engergies Rama has thrown at it. It quickly reaches the size of a bus. An almost joyful expression comes over its face, it wants more!!
 
:: Euthalia fell through the gateway, she held her head wondering what this new feeling was. She looked up and saw all of the 8 ugly beasts in front of the group. For a minute she stood still and saw what Rama had done and the beast's reaction. ::

"Do they absorb our powers when we use them against them?"

:: She quickly threw her dagger into an area of 1 of the beasts. ::
 
:: Maia too fell through the gateway, feeling a bit jumpy and disoriented. She looked up, from the ground, glaring at the beasts. She looked over at Rama and Euthalia seeing if their attacks worked on the beasts. They were huge... ::

:: Maia removed her sais and threw them directly at the beasts chest ::
 
(OOC note: There is only the one beast on your side of the gate, guys. All the rest are keeping Syd and Gossamer busy in the forest dimension. It is huge and growing bigger though)
 
:: Experiencing one moment of disorientation as they moved through the gateway, Sati looked up, watching as Rama attacked the creature - and it grew. Frowning slightly, she raised her hand, conjuring two throwing discs. Finally able to move with her true, unparallelled speed again, she hurled them both at the creatures midsection, intending to curve them around within the beast if they connected - damaging it as badly as possible, hoping that the creature's bodily fluids would not simply eat through their weapons ::
 
Euthalia's dagger simply bounces off the creature scaley hide, causing a minor scratch at best, the weapon being too small in comparison to the thing's size to do more than that. Maia's sais fly through the air, one cutting the creature and the other sticking partways into its chest. As Sati throws her discs at it, she misses with the first as she seems to be having trouble controlling her speed and reactions, the second slices across the thing's snout, drawing a foul green blood.

The thing paws at its chest trying to remove the sai that is still stuck there when the disc slices across its face. Its hisses in pain causing venom to fall to the floor of the small crater Rama had blasted. It's head swivels around trying to find the cause of its pain even as it grows again, still larger yet.
 
"It's wounded!"

:: Maia raised her hands, and in a blink, her Assasin's blade appeared in her hands. The Assasin blade was a family traditional weapon, passed down to her from her grandfather, Baba. If it struck anything/anyone, a poison would spread, flowling through their blood stream. She didnt know if the poison would work, but she gave it a try. It wasn't Maia's style to strike when her enemy was down, but this obviously was an exception. She doupleflipped into the air, landing on the beast's back, grabbing onto it's hairs, riding it like a horse. She raised her free arm, holding the Assassin blade, before digging it directly into it's back, before ripping it free from the Creature's body ::
 
:: Kurama was exceddingly wide eyed as he saw the animal absorb his energy. However he was glad to know his powers now worked but not to well on him. ::

"Guys it seems energy based attacks don't work too well. However physical weapon strikes seem to work fine. But what about non energy attacks? Do you think a hydro blast or mystic flame blast would work? I don't want to try one before ya'll tell me your thought"

:: However Rama held out his hand and in it a throwing star was conjured amid smokey rose petals. He threw it straight at the monsters eyes ::
 
*She fell through the gate, her body began to vibrate with a tickling sensation. Not a moment sooner, she sees one of the cursed things come running after them through the gate as well. Watching the others attack, she takes out her blade shape in the form of an s and hurls it the monster. The blade's edges are hard as diamonds and sharp as heck, as it follows the beast's every move as it wiggles on the ground. She stands up with her hand out, waiting for the blade to make it's way to the beast, attack it, and circle back to her.*

"Anythings worth a shot Rama...just give us a heads up first."
 
:: Euthalia frowned as her dagger bounced off the creature. ::

"Well guess thats it for that. I think those might work especially because there wouldn't really be anything for the beast to absorb, what about claws, you know scratching?"

:: She asked optimistically. Watching the rest of the group battle the creature and thinking of her next move. ::
 
Maia's backflip nearly carries her completely over the creature. Where she would have landed neatly once, she now nearly falls before regaining her balance. Stabbing the creature causes it to react violently. Maia is thrown from its back, having nothing to grab ahold of when the thing starts to thrash about. She lands nimbly on the ground, and looks up to see a huge foot stamping down at her. She doesn't have time to move out ofthe way as the paw descends....

From across the clearing, Sati sees the creature about to crush Maia and for her, everything appears to begin to move in slow motion. She rushes to help her friend with a speed that leaves an after image hanging in the air behind her and the wind of her wake blows through the clearing tearing leaves from nearby shrubs.

Everyone is looking in horror as the paw descends towards Maia and suddenly she is standing back beside them, her face ashen and feeling motion sick. Sati drops to her knees panting. Never has she run so fast.

Rama's stars and Amarisy's blade are blown off course by the wind of Sati' passing. Rama's stars hit the thing in the mouth severing a fang. Amy's blade strikes the things foreleg, driving it to one knee.

Whatever is going on here, it is definately affecting their reactions. Most of them are feeling like their skin is too tight. Highly energized as if their powers had been enhanced far beyond their present level of control.

The creature continues to grow but there is a subtle change about it. It starts to look almost transluscent. Whatever is affecting them appears to be working in an even greater amount upon the creature.
 
:: Tobias seems to have taken the disorientation a lot worse than the others and he drops to the floor as the world seemed to be spinning wildly around him. He pukes and then afterwards he regains his strength...and then his strength doubled as if he was being enflated and finally his powers returned vying impatiently to be used. ::

"Woah..."

:: He sees that everyone else has started to attack the beast that had followed them through the gate. He swings round and sends a consecutive attack of a firball, energy ball and a fire blast at the beast's underbelly. ::
 
:: She dropped to her knees on the ground before the others, Maia beside her. Feeling a wild laugh threatening to build within her from the exhilerating run, she shook her head as if to clear it, breathing heavily but still feeling somehow energised. Still, she struggled to keep her currently extraordinary speed down to a minimum, to keep herself moving and talking at the same speed as the others. She had grown into her previous level of high speed... but this was a new, rapid, and hard to control leap. Standing, she smiled slightly at Euthalia as she mentioned claws. Both of her fingernails lengthened into silver, pin point sharp claws, extending some distance from her hands in front of her; the metal near indestructible, razor sharp - and hers ::

"I wondered when we were going to get to that. Physical fighting happens to be my speciality."

:: She winks slightly at Rama, thankful that he had allowed her to obtain the adamantium skeleton herself. ::

"Give me, oh, a second or two to give this a try, and then let loose."

:: She was fully aware that the metal may react violently upon contact with the creature's blood, but she was fully willing to heal herself if need be. Pushing herself to her current unrecognised limit of speed, but all the time being as careful as she could be to judge distance properly, she raced at the creature, leaping into the air before it. Claws outstretched towards the creature, she spun, the ten blades aimed at all parts of its body as she spins rapidly through the air and down - eyes, face, body, anything that was in range, she attempted to slash, hoping that it could bring the creature down, as she dropped nimbly to the ground, ready to move out of the way for Rama's attack ::
 
Sati's launches herself against the creature intending on cutting it to ribbons. She attempts to tear into the beast and finds herself unable to much more than cosmetic damage as Tobias' magickal attack has forced yet another growth spurt upon the thing and its body is becoming more diffused with each passing moment. Everyone is now able to see the surrounding trees through the body of the beast. It howls its confusion as it lunges to bite Sati and passes completely through her, causing her no more in discomfort than enduring the foul stench of its breath.

The creatures body has now exceeded the size of a small house and continues to grow. It becomes more aggitated as it tries to continue to attack the party. Its immaterial body begins to show cracks in it that dark red light shines from. Everyone is taken aback as suddenly the thing explodes showering the area in a flash of light.
 
:: She flinched as the creature tried to bite her, but realised, slightly surprised, that it passed completely passed through her, leaving behind the foul stench of its breath. It continued to grow, and moments later, exploded, and Sati closed her eyes briefly. Opening her eyes again moments later, she squinted, the bright lights coating and distorting her vision even after the flash had dissipated. Waiting for her real vision to return, she turned back to the others, slightly concerned ::

"Did it just... self destruct?"

:: She moved back to the groups, her claws retracting ::

"Not to worry you, but... do you think that could happen to us? I mean, none of us are growing, yet, but our powers... they're out of control. Just like its growing."
 
:: Being thrown off, the Siren didn't know what would happen to her if the creature had been able to smash her. Moments later, as if it seemed to have slowed down by a temporal rift, Maia found herself gasping seeing Sati by her side. She instantly knew Sati was responsible for her safety and her vital reason for being. As she watched Sati attack the beast, she widened her eyes at the largeness of the beast. Moments later, the creature shattered into pieces of light. She couldn't believe it. Was Sati responsible for that too? ::

"Is it experience or is this world... making our powers grow uncontrollably that we can't handle it anymore?"
 
"I take it my attack didn't help much..."

:: Kinda feels embarrassed but kinda relieved that the creature 'self-destructed.' Then realises that Sati may be right. ::

To Sati: "If you're right, we must get out of this realm as quickly as possible."
