First "Fear the Walking Dead" Teaser Trailer

Interesting. The look on his face is utter terror & he's running for his life. Definitely makes me want to see more.

I've read some reports that said its a strong possibility a character or two from the 1st season of The Walking Dead would be appearing in this prequel.

It's interesting that they changed Kim's character's name from Nancy to Madison. I wonder what the reason behind that was.

I'm definitely curious about this spin off/prequel series & will be watching. I just hope it doesnt fall flat. Even the main show is running the risk of losing steam @ this point.

"Even the main show is running the risk of losing steam @ this point."

I think the main show faces a big quandary. It wants to be more than just that 'zombie show' and focus and characters and all, but it was much easier at the start to do that. Alot of it seems repetitive now, actually. But I have hopes in Lennie James maybe changing things around. I have waited since the first season for him to be a 'regular' and it looks like this is finally the season.

I felt that in season 4 & especially 5, the writer got a little carried away w/ all the character kill offs. in one episode, 3 well recognized characters w/ fan following died. I understand that given the nature of the show's premise, no one is truly safe, but I think if the show is going to be character focused (which also means that the audience will grow attached to the characters), killing them, sometimes in rapid succession doesnt help.

What happens when the entire "core group" is gone? As it is now, only Rick, Carl, Glen, Darryl & Carol are left from the ORIGINAL ATL group. Carol is the last surviving female of the group (& she's MY absolute fav character on the show :D)

many of the newer characters just havent been as well developed & usually end up dying quickly. many of the newer ones are also extremely unlikeable. I can't believe Noah died, while that wretched coward Gabriel is still alive!

I'm not sure about Morgan. I wonder if he'll be too far gone to be a character ppl will want to emotionally invest in. I have a hard time tolerating Rick most of the time these days.

But as for the new show, I hope that it will creatively answer what CAUSED the outbreak.

TWD is focused almost solely on showing cool zombie makeup and effects rather than actual storytelling. Definitely jumped the shark back in season 3. If this was ten/fifteen years ago before watching a zombie show was considered "cool", the show would be off the air.

They had a real opportunity in the last season to say something about what people would become in a situation like this and squandered it. A rift in the group - the idea that Rick and his crew would become the bad guys, while Daryl became the good guy was actually interesting. But then they just dropped that and swung back to Rick as the savior. Pfft.

I really don't even want to watch the spinoff, truthfully. The only reason I would is to see if that Carl's little girl friend from the main show shows up on there and we see how she got to Alexandria.

I do agree with this.
