Heath Ledger is the Joker

I'm going to put my faith in the director's, Christopher Nolan, choice. While I admittedly thought immediately "WTF, after careful thought I think he may have found a ringer. He's got a big toothy grin when he wants to, is a far better actor than many people give him credit for and is the right age to play the Joker opposite Christian Bale.
I'm disappointed in this choice. I would of hoped for a comedian in that role, like Jim Carey's portrayal of The Riddler.

Wasn't Adrien Brody interested in this? Not only his is a better actor he's PHYSICALLY far more suited to play the joker. Long face, skinny, lighter skin.....
Yes, Brody stated publicly that he would like to play The Joker. I'm not quite sure if he ever got a call from Nolan, however.
Batman Begins was very well casted, I think. With the exception of Katie Holmes (though I may have only disliked her because the character was very two dimensional) I thought every actor did a bangup job. Cillian Murphy was so damn creepy as The Scarecrow and Liam Neeson was excellent as always. Even with this being an odd choice, I still think it'll pan out well.
