I just got back from seeing MI3, and let me just say, this movie was flippin' amazing. Although Tom Cruise is pretty lame as of lately in my opinion, I've always loved the Mission Impossible movies. The previews for this movie looked amazing, so I hade high expectations for this film, and they were definitely met!

The minute the film started, it was immediate, on the edge of your seat scenes. Throughout the film it was non-stop action, crazy ass effects, nifty technology, and amazing twists that I didn't even see coming. Tom Cruise did a fantastic job reprising the role of Ethan Hunt, and boy did he look yummy. (lol, even though the man is annoying as hell, he is still fine as hell!) Phillip Seymore Hoffman was the perfect villian for this film (I mean he was damn good!!) and Lawrence Fishborn was great at being the dick head honcho LOL (although he wasn't on nearly as much as I thought he would be). The rest of the cast was great as well (some new faces...but really well acted).

As a whole, this movie was brilliant. And any action loving, suspense junkie would fall in love with it. It totally surpassed the second Mission Impossible by a mile...actually I think I enjoyed this one as much as the first one. I highly recommend it!

Damnit...I might actually go see this now, which would totally go against my recent Tom Cruise boycott.

Are there any sword fights? I can never resist a movie with good sword fights.

Yeah, I'll have to check this film out too. I was disappointed with the second film. I LOVED the first film, but I think the third probably relates more to the original. I hated Tom's longer hair in the second film, he lost his sex appeal lol.

I'm a huge action junkie, so I'm dying to see this one now lol.

I saw it last night and thought it was great. For ONCE, for friggen once, they had a credible hard ass bad guy. He did not budge the whole movie and didn't make any of the stupid mistakes they usually have bad guys make so that the good guy can win.

Exactly!!! Phillip Seymore Hoffman was freakin' amazing as a bad guy. He was relentless! I loved it. :)

No sword fights Mat. :( Sorry. There was a scene with Ethan training Keri Russell's character with these stick things...but that's it.

I was wondering about this movie. I never saw any of the MI movies, and was actually considering this. Would I have to see the others to get better context?

No nothing in the new movie has any relation to either of the sequels. So if you don't want to watch the others (I thought the other 2 were good also but MI III takes the cake) then you don't have to.

agreed! I enjoyed it very much. I admit you have to suspend your belief a little.

It has tom cruise in it!!That's enough to make me cry and not in the good way.My goodness that man is a pain.Poor Katie whatshername and the poor poor child. Then again i'm sure he's a great father *cough apart from scientology*
Anyway film wasn't as bad as I thought it would be,but it's actually been a big flop over here.I liked that he snorts bombs in this film-talk about hardcore drugs.

Well, in my opinion, I absolutely hated the last two MI movies. A lot. The first one though, wasn't as bad as the second one. But I still didn't like it. But since I saw the first two in theaters, I guess I feel obliged to see this in theaters as well. I have to admit the commercials look pretty interesting. I remember when I saw the second one in theaters, I actually walked out of the movie and walked into another movie. That is how much I hate MI movies...

I was really surprised how much I liked this film. I can't agree and say it was really good, but it was definitely entertaining. And like someone said, it felt a like a long Alias episode.. except Tom Cruise instead of Jennifer Garner.. hm that sounded really bad but yeah, it wasn't..
