Barbara Minerva's Estate...what's left of it

Nicolas stood transfixed with Haleigh as he saw Guardian save Persephone from what seemed to be utter defeat. They appeared before them and Alison screamed to get downstairs as Circe put forward her blast. Nicolas thought feverishly as he was forced to retreat from her blast.

I have never seen such...power. Got to do something. But what???

As they entered the area of the Panic Room, the shock wave could be felt as the mansion above was obliterated. A HUGE shock wave that was enveloping them as well!!!! What to do??!! Nicolas sees Alison exclaim as she is covered and grabs her arm, lifting away the debris quickly. he pulls them onto the room closer to the others and he tries the only thing he can think of.

The deal with magic is quite far beyond his regular understanding at this point, but he knows that any concentration of destructive energy SHOULD theoretically have a finite amount of mass it will obliterate. So he feeds the wave mass. Lots of it. As much rock and gravel and worms and equipment as he can as he lowers the part of the room where the Six and Barbara Minerva are, layering the rock on top of their position as a shield of sorts, constantly feeding it in the hopes that it will at least eat up some of that energy before they feel its final impact.

the agony

<< Morgan convulsed as MorningStar tried to hold her arms and keep her from tearing her clothes off. as she screamed, rays of energy came from her mouth and her wide opened eyes...she was in PAIN as her body became a LIVING CONDUCTOR for the dark magick that Circe was drawing from EVERYWHERE around the area..including MORGAN!>>

<< the chimes sounded off as the forcefull blast and explosive violence rained down upon them. Guardian ushered the remainder of the team down, having saved Persephone from a violent death but was it enough? the house was being DESTROYED ...OBLITERATED...the shockwave of the blast slammed through and crushed/obliterated everything as the magick itself irradiated what was left, setting it ablaze. Guardian tried to seal off the entrance to the underground lair..but the force and power coupled with Morgan's BODY...her very being now becoming apart of the attack against them (very much against her will) prooved to be too much as Guardian was knocked down and blinded.>>

<< Rampage pulled Guardian to safety and attempted to shield them as best he could...there was so much noise, it sounded as if they'd be crushed, buried or burned alive..... and Morgan was now looking more catatonic than anything else.>>

the destruction of her lair

[ Barbara stood up with worry as Persephone became trapped by Circe, but even as it seemed the goddess would be destroyed, Guardian once again prooved why she was the best at what she did. The remainder of The Six rushed through the mansion making their way to the spiral stair case that lead to the underground lair. Barbara turned]

HURRY!! its COMING!!

[ they didnt need any further proof that things were about to go critical as Morgan began to scream with pain as her body, her powers...they were all being FORCED into the service of Circe as the crone began to channel ALL the dark magick around the area...and Morgan, being that she was of Hecate's bloodline was swept up in that. Delilah tried her best to help Morgan but she knew there was nothing any of them could do. Alison was her only hope but things quickly escalated as the first shockwave rocked them to their core. Barbara fell as well but rolled with her fall. ]

Spellbinder's been forced to become a living conductor for Circe's assault. THAT is how Circe is able to unleash this upon us! she's tapping into Morgan's power...adding it to her own....its ALL through Hecate's bloodline!

[which basically meant that Circe was now adding Morgan's power and very essence to her own assault against them! the explosions were so loud..so FORCEFULL...the force of the assault and the heat from the blast...it was all SO MUCH!]

[ Rampage tried to get the group TOGETHER as he attempted to fortify the control room and provide a buffer. but as the assault climaxed, Barbara was thrown away from the group. landing on her side a few feet away her red hair falls in front of her face...she hit her head against a chair and is not moving...not moving at all.]

"Barbara!"

[ Delilah saw her fall. She looked down at Morgan writhing on the floor. But there was nothing she could do. She began to crawl for Barbara, slowly as the earth shook and impeded her progress. As she moved, she called for Guardian. ]

"Alison! You need to-can you cut off Morgan's power somehow? Get into her mind?! Anything?! We've got to shut her power down before she kills us all!"

Barbara Minerva's Estate...what's left of it

Nicolas gambit was helping, but it was hard to say how much as the waves kept coming.

"Damn!!"

Nicolas saw Barbara fall and he finally spied Morgan in her distress. He went over to Morgan as Delilah made her way to Barbara. He tried to hold Morgan still so she would not hurt herself when she heard Delilah's suggestion to Alison. He yelled back at the Seer over the din as he continued to try to lay a rock buffer down over the team.

"If you can help me navigate Morgan's psi-screen I can put her safely down for the count, Alison! I don't know how long we can hold out otherwise.

crashing down around them

:: As Nicolas pulled her into the control room and reinforced the buffer around them, a distressed and visibly injured Alison fell to her knees, crying out with the disorientation of being blinded. BUT even as she did so, her powers of precognition kicked into over drive, allowing her to "see" without her physical eyes. THIS sensation began to calm the seer who was emotionally overwhelmed by the waves of magick that swept through and around her.::

:: she braced her forehead with her gloved hand as she was unable to stand up right away. badly shaken and feeling faint...the forcefull destruction that rained down upon them was horrendous. had she NOT sealed the door between the above ground estate and the underground bunker ..they all wouldve been less than ash by now.::

:: she'd done her job..but was it going to be ENOUGH!? they had to find a way to escape...to SURVIVE and what was worse was that a major portion of this assault was being sustained by MORGAN. she knew what was happening even as they came down the stairs. she had a spell prepared but so many things happened after that moment of planning.::

:: she wanted to pass out, and just let the destruction claim her but as she struggled, MorningStar and Rampage called out to her. she HAD to do something before they were all destroyed!::

i have lost my physical vision, but i need no eyes to truly see....

:: her voice was shakey and weak...she crawled , even being stumbled by the force of the waves again to reach Nicolas and Morgan. Morgan was in AGONY...she was about to fragment in her psyche as she was essentially being raped of her magicks her soul.::

Spellbinder's power is being RIPPED from her...it's as Barbara described. Circe KNOWS what she's doing too...she doesnt CARE that she could KILL Morgan..and she knows that WE will not survive if Morgan reaches critical mass.

:: the din of destruction seemed to purposefully intensify as Alison tried to marshall herself.::

:: Delilah went to Barbara's side and now Alison was kneeling infront of Morgan who was being held by Nicolas. the agony she was in broadcast to Alison in full force....Morgan didnt want this...she was HELPLESS against this riptide of power being perpetuated by Circe and Morgan cried out in agony....::

Ororo...Karen.....please lend me your STRENGTH..your WISDOM to do this

:: Rampage was eager to assist Guardian but she shook her head::

just....just hold her.

:: she hold her gloved hands forward.::

guardians of magick, lend me your might!
I call upon your protection for Spellbinder!
Release her from this forced servitude and end her painfull plight!

:: a mournfull bell tolls in the air against the din of destruction as ancient mystical symobls flow forth, sparkling with a glowing blue/black hue. the flickering image of a WOMAN...it could be Ororo, it couldbe Karen..it could be HECATE...can be seen as the mystical images form a circular perimeter around Morgan and begin to SHIELD her and SEVER her connection to the riptide...the FEEDBACK causes a painfull jolt for Nicolas but as Alison strains to physically seperate Morgan from Circe's spell she seems to be making progress..::

goddess...give me STRENGTH!

:: Sprinting like hell to the panic room, the entire foundation shook causing Persephone to stumble into the wall. Regaining her ground, she continued to run, finally entering the panic room. Morgan was screaming on the floor and Minerva was passed out afar. The ground began to shake even more violently making it hard for Persephone to move forward without stumbling. Finally reaching Minerva's side, she fell to her knees next to Delilah. ::

"What happened?!"

:: Persephone's shouted over the chaos. Pulling Minerva up over her knees, she brushed the red looks away from her face. Looking to Morgan, Nicolas was holding onto her as Alison tried to stop Circe's powers from being channeled through her. ::

"We need to get out of here, NOW!"

:: The chaos around them was too loud, Persephone didn't even know if the group could hear her. Keeping her grip firm on Minerva, the goddess winced and ducked her head, feeling items fall from the shelves and tables onto her. The tremors were getting more intense, and the situation was becoming even more grave. ::

[ Delilah reached Barbara as Persephone arrived. She reached up and felt for Minerva's pulse, which was there - but barely. Delilah let out a sigh of relief. ]

"She's alive."

Persephone said:
"We need to get out of here, NOW!"

[ She gave Ava a look. ]

"Oh, you think?"

[ Despite the trembling ground, she managed to get to her knees and close enough that Persephone could hear her. ]

"Circe is using Morgan's power to FUEL the destruction. Unless Guardian can sever the link..."

[ She couldn't finish. She looked around at the destruction raining down upon them. She raised a shield around Barbara and Persephone to keep the debris from falling on her and further injuring her. After several tries she managed to get to her feet. ]

"I've got to get to the infirmary!"

[ She ran a few steps then was thrown violently to the ground. She staggered to her feet and tried again. But it was such slow going...and could she get there before they were sealed off? But she couldn't do nothing, couldn't bear to just sit there and wonder if Morgan was going to live. If any of them were going to live. ]

Alison crawls over to Morgan and Nicolas. She cannot utilize his help otherwise but she gives him a task he CAN accomplish, to hold on to Morgan. Hold Morgan he does as Alison unleashes a powerful spell. The feedback alone sends another wave of pain through him, but he holds on, praying that whatever she has done is enough..

making the effort

:: the BACKLASH hammered Guardian, but she used her own powers to shield herself as best she could. a normal woman would've been incinerated by now. She counted on Nicolas' exceptional durability and other related abilities to protect him as well.::

It...HURTS!!

:: she gritted her teeth and kept her eyes shut as she continued to hold her hands out over Spellbinder, trying to BLOCK the connection between her and Circe.::

she's fighting me....Circe...she's ANGRY.......it's like...trying to DROWN AN OCEAN!!

:: Alison began to tremble as she looked up and continued to try to BREAK the connection::

WHAT WAS I THINKING!?

one last pass

WHAT INDEED!

{{ a jagged bolt of violet hued energy SLAMS into Alison. its roar of power eclipses her scream as she is blasted and battered before being left to slump over in a seemingly lifeless heap.}}

I'm TIRED of your meddling, your interfering in the affairs of your SUPERIORS!

{{ Circe appeared in a swirling vortex of dark magick standing before them ALL in the midst of the destruction.}}

Spellbinder's unique heritage, her power, made her the most EXCELLENT source of additional power to ensure that YOU ALL would be destroyed. Your deaths would have been swift and painless...a mercy that i grant FEW. but NOW..i will ensure that your souls know the pain of Hecate's hellfire...for ETERNITY![/i]

{{ Circe gestures before directing her hands at the group, she unleashes a terrible blast. there's no time to escape!}}

Fatal climax/Sudden change

<< The Six have faced death before to varying degrees. Some have managed to escape her when she came calling, and some have been granted a repieve from her but there were t hose individuals who did NOT manage to escape her at all.>>

<< as Circe retaliated against Guardian, she all but sealed the fate of the Six and their ally. she was intent on making SURE they died a violent and PAINFULL death.>>

<< the entire estate above ground had been destroyed, the grounds scorched and damaged far down below and the panic room, with the help of Nicolas and Delilah was barely holding together and now it was OVER. the hour of their death was upon them.>>

<< as Circe sought to cut the Six loose from life, the medallion that Barbara had given Persephone began to pulsate and GLOW...it was DEMANDING attention from its temporary holder. and as it manifested before Persephone, she knew it was time to lay her hands on it...and wish as hard as she could for another time and place.>>

<< destruction, fire, chaos...a terrifying symphony of power that was now climaxing to its ultimate , FATAL finale'>>

<< the hour of their death was upon them.>>

<< the MOMENT of their salvation was at hand!! as the stinging fire of the massive blast hit them...as their bodies began to tear apart and their space around them began to explode...they were bathed in a swirling haze of warm white light and SILENCE. it happened so fast..so SUDDENLY that it was disorienting.>>

<< the Six were no longer in Greece, at least not the time of Greece that they knew of.>>

[ Delilah fell yet again as she fought to get help for Barbara. She tried to push herself up with her arms but could not. She raised her head as she heard Alison scream and saw Circe appear in blinding violet light.

Delilah let out a terrible blood-curdling scream as the blast came for her, ripping her body apart seemingly from inside out. There was no time to think, no time to retaliate, no time to pray. The heat, the noise.

And then silence. ]

:: Circe appeared, unleashing a massive jolt against Alison. She collapsed in a heap, seemingly lifeless. Everything was behind destoryed around. Pulling Minerva back against the wall, Persephone sheilded her eyes from the brightness of Circe's attack. Everything was so loud, so bright. The chaos was unbelieveable. Circe was on the verge of killing them all with one last attack when Persephone grabbed her chest feeling a pulsating pain on her skin. Reaching beneath her top where the medallion rested against her bust, it began to glow brilliantly. Looking up at Circe, Delilah began to scream, falling to the floor. ::

"NOOOOOO!!!"

:: The goddess voice rose above all other noises, as white lights began to wash over the entire scene. All the chaos began to fade, and only Persephone's voice could be heard echoing until everything fell silent. ::

--

:: Laying on her side unconcious, raven locks shielded Persephone's face. The soft breeze danced through her hair, moving strands along her face. The soft tickle slowly began to wake the goddess. Shutting her eyes tightly, her head was pounding and her body ached badly. Between fighting Circe and the overall massive attack from the crone, Persephone had taken a bit of a beating. Ribs broken, cuts and gashes along her exposed skin, and visible brusing. ::

:: Rolling from her side onto her back, a groan escaped her lips. Well she was alive....that was a given. The pain she felt was enough proof. Opening her eyes to the bright white moon above, the entire nights sky was filled with thousands of vibrant stars. Blurry stars, but stars nontheless. Coughing, Persephone slowly pushed her torso up, putting all her weight on her elbow/forearm. That's when she caught a glimpse of the team, all laying motionless around her. Seeing Delilah was closest to her, Persephone managed to push herself to her knees, letting out a soft yelp of pain. ::

"De-Delilah.."

:: Crawling over to the blonde, dirt covered her black leather battle suit and skin. Pushing Delilah's hair away from her face, she placed her fingers on the mutant's neck, feeling for a pulse. Faint, but there. Looking around, everything was gone....Minerva's house, everything. In fact, the entire area surrounding them was flat with nothing but land for what seemed like miles. A puzzeled look was on Persephone's face...where was Circe? What exactly had happened? How did they survive the attack? ::

:: Pushing herself to her feet, Persephone held onto her ribs/stomach as she painfully made her way over to Haleigh. ::

"Hales, wake up. Come on. Morgan...Alison."

:: Her voice became louder, now looking in the direction of Morgan and Alison. Seeing Rampage laying near Morgan, the entire six was accounted for....but where was Minerva. Turning around, Persephone couldn't spot her....no, she didn't--she couldn't of died. ::

"Barbara! BARBARA!"

:: The goddess' English accent became horse and panicked. Her eyes expressing the same panic. ::

[ Delilah blinked. Nothing was in focus. She groaned. She felt as if every inch of her body was covered in bruises. She blinked again. That was a little better. She tried to move, but only managed to lift her head. Her mouth was so dry. She thought she heard Ava's voice, but wasn't sure. Dazed, her voice came out in a croak. ]

"Wha-what happened?"

:: Hearing Delilah's voice, Persephone turned to see her laying concious on the ground. Her eyes were glazed over with tears at the thought of Barbara not making it. She was no where in sight. She hadn't answered Persephone's calls. If she lost the one connection to her old life....no, she wouldn't think of the worst case scenerio. She needed to stay focused. ::

"I don't know. Just, lay still."

:: Lifting the back of her hand to her mouth, Persephone let out a few heavy coughs. The yelling and moving made it even more painful for her to breathe. Looking down at her hand, bits of blood were spattered on her skin where she had just coughed. ::

:: Pushing herself up to her feet again, Persephone stumbled to Alison's side, falling to her knees. ::

"Alison....Alison..."

:: Moving her head gently, her blue/black hair fell from her face. Looking up to where Morgan and Nicolas were. ::

"Morgan, can you hear me? It's Persephone.."

:: Looking back down at Alison, she placed her hand on on Alison's shoulder, collar bone, moving her fingers to her neck to feel for a pulse. ::

"Come on, wake up."

Where in the hell???!!!

Rampage held Morgan as Alison worked on her. he had no time to see what was happening until Alison was hit by Circe's jagged bolt.

"ALISON!!!"

Nicolas turned in time to see Circe strike at them, pulling Morgan and the seemingly inert Alison behind him in a futile attempt to shield them. The heat was excruciating as he was being torn apart then...nothing. All was white. Was this heaven?

Nicolas looked around for his father and...there he was!!! Tall and strong as he remembered him. With tears, Nicolas went to his side and they embraced.

"Father, I failed them!! I tried but I wasn't good enough to-"

"SSSHHHH!!! You are doing your best, son. Do not despair. This is not the end and, although it is good to see you, there is still work left for you to do there."

With that, Gustav Magnusson stepped away from his son and wished him farewell with a proud nod. He sat bolt upright in the field with the others, tears falling from his eyes.

"Father!"

Nicolas looked around, the pain in his joints and skin telling him that he was indeed with his team. Wiping his face, he stood up and stretched, allowing his bones to reset and align, then he went over to Morgan and Alison who were nearby, He checked them both over, scared of what he may find... they were alive, as a was Persephone and Delilah , who were both conscious. Nicolas shook them gently to get them up...
