Ah!! Gotcha. I was a bit confused there...I thought that we were moved forward more than that. Thanks for the clarity.
 
This is what Jill said in the shoutbox, which is what I was going on:

"im going to have to turn a couple pages in the six right now, so unfortunately we'll have to skip the appeareance of the goddesses so that Nic and Dominique are back w/ the others & also Morgan, Mike & Karen. The only two ppl not present YET are Bishop & Alison."
 
I'm assuming I don't need to have Bishop respond to Alison, I can just have him respond to her when she re-appears and have him follow her into the room where everyone is? Is that right?

I don't think that's what happened. I think it was her birth that did a one-time release of the energy that killed the staff members.

Also only 2 of the medical staff died.

I did not name a number but it seems like more than two. And the child's power and energy stem from her draining her mother at birth correct?
 
Jill can say what the number is, I don't know.

As for the baby's power that's not what she had discussed with me. She had told me that there was an initial burst of dark energy as the baby is born but that would not be an ongoing thing. That's why Bishop could be around her and hold her even after she drained Delilah the second time.

I had actually questioned Jill about this when she posted it because I did not like villainizing the child in this way, and her reply was that it was a one-time thing.

She can let us know how to play it going forward though. I just need to know before Delilah has to respond.
 
Yeah, because I need to know how to fix my post. Knowing what her powers do it a part of Nic's powers. I was trying to flex that power for the first time in continuity and give a reasoned explanation why those alternatives would not work. Otherwise Alison is just an ogre and the point was that there really is no other way.
 
She can at least be a reasonable one.

If there is a glaring way that would work that goes unexplained then the premise collapses.

And yes...yes he can.

I'm just trying to make sure it makes sense. And I was curious about your power and how it works. (And did I need to retcon to say Nicolas visited the baby.) I tried to find more information in Nicolas' bio before I asked and I didn't see it in there yet since its new.

The point is that the baby was only a danger to Delilah. This is the same thing I said to Jill. When the baby becomes a threat, then that cheapens it because it makes it more logical that the baby couldn't be around people.

The only problem I had with your post was the few words that said "then vents the energy off, reducing anyone not pretty damned invulnerable to ash and vapor" because I don't think it's accurate. If Jill says it is accurate, then it's fine.
 
Then it doesn't make much sense to me the way it is written. The energy released is clearly the baby's. The energy drained is clearly Delilah's. The child is clearly actively metahuman and not in control of itself and in a process of converting its mother's energy into itself.

The child's power cannot simply be that she is deadly to her mother and no one else. It has to have a power set of some sort and no matter what it is, especially if it is energy manipulating and draining, that child is potentially deadly to others and already has been responsible for multiple deaths. It can clearly vaporize people with energy as has been shown.
 
Of course she has a power. But she is not inherently deadly by simply being in the same room as she is with Delilah.

But I'll undelete your post and we'll go with it as is.

Which is why I had asked Jill to edit that out when she did it. Which is also why I explained to you that she assured me that it was a one-time deal.

At this point, I don't care, treat the baby as a killer. She's with Ororo so it won't make a difference.
