Ororo's ghost story II: Apocolypse

[Rampage]

Nicolas, do try to remember what i told you about PRIVACY and respect of a person's physical AND mental space.

<< Karen reminded him as they walked along.>>

Haleigh, Nicolas is...a special case. He means no harm...but in less than a few hours after YEARS of close monitoring, structure and regulation of his abilities, he has now been granted full access. I had to do that in order to give him a fighting chance of escape from this place.

<< not immediately aware that Nicolas communicated to haleigh mentally that he'd been orphaned TWICE.>>

I'm afraid that his reactions to you will be a bit...extreme but its not malicious on his part. he's an inquisitive young man who is suddenly thrust into a sort of...puberty.

Nicolas was silent, still more than a bit taken aback that he'd pushed Haleigh so when he first met her. He'd lost control...too much POWER...even now he couldn't just pull away from her mind...their minds fit SO WELL.

Nicolas walked with the pair of women and his kitty, somewhat distracted by his dilemma when he heard a scream. KAREN!!

Nicolas looked up as a Neptune came up to her jaws agape. Nicolas yelled as he reached for her, he wished that he could make it in time...somehow...

...and there he was, the Neptune closing its mouth around his torso and pulling him under the water.

WHARRRRGH!!!

Nicolas yelled as he was pulled underneath the water and away from them by the enormous fish, then it was deathly silent. Haleigh and Karen would see nothing, then they would see...BLOOD. No sign yet of the young mutant or the huge shark.

 

[Persephone]

Entering the dark passageway, Ava didn't need the assistance of Delilah's light; she could see perfectly fine in the dark. However, the light seemed to put the elemental at ease. It was sort of like a security blanket--if they were in the light....nothing could touch them, right? Atleast, that's how Ava wished it worked.

Morgan began to quip about her hair and both Blaze and Mike egged her on. Rolling her eyes, Ava 'shhed' them harshly.

[in a quiet 'yell'] "Would you three shut up! If I get turned into a zombie because of the lot of you, i'll be really pissed off!"

Shaking her head, she pushed herself ahead of Mike and Blaze, now following directly behind Delilah.

Quietly mumbling to herself.

"So how did you turn into a zombie? Oh me? My friends TALKED me to death."

Suddenly, Ava heard a faint noise....a faint SCREAM. Gasping she suddenly stopped, making the group stop as well.

"Did you hear that?"

Ava had precision hearing. Like many felines she could differentiate over 100 sounds all at the same time, ignore the sounds that she recognized or sounded 'normal', and home in on the new or strange sounds. The scream was extremely faint indicating it was a fair distance away....but it definitely sounded like a woman in fear.

"It was a scream. Very far away....but she sounded terrified!"

 

[Harbinger]

the tunnel

:: with her gloved hand on the wall, Alison "saw" her way a few steps ahead...but all she was getting were flashes of the horror that had taken place only an hour earlier when the Mansion and facility went critical and flashes of what was to come...creatures of all kinds lunghing at "her" in her minds eye...twists and turns, fire...screams...::

a scream!

Gasping she suddenly stopped, making the group stop as well.

"Did you hear that?"

Ava had precision hearing. Like many felines she could differentiate over 100 sounds all at the same time, ignore the sounds that she recognized or sounded 'normal', and home in on the new or strange sounds. The scream was extremely faint indicating it was a fair distance away....but it definitely sounded like a woman in fear.

"It was a scream. Very far away....but she sounded terrified!"

:: Alison nodded slowly. She "SAW" what Ava heard, which meant that those they were coming for were still alive at this moment but she also knew Morgan would no doubt sense her mother's extreme distress too...which could cause a problem because Alison now knew that Morgan would be ready to seperate from the group and frantically try to get to her mother.::

:: but simultaneously...Alison "saw" something ELSE....::

Wait....they're coming!

:: she said as she stopped , putting her arm out to the side and halting her baby brother!::

:: Delilah's light increased just a bit at Alison's urgent request and from in FRONT of them...coming THEIR way...all on the walls, the floor and ceiling...were the large, virus infected LEECHES! screeching and slithering along at a steady speed.::

we can't let them touch us!

:: Alison screamed::

Blaze: but we're HEMMED IN! how are we going to...

Alison: I DON'T KNOW!

:: Alison yelled in an exasperated tone. Though she WAS a precog...she didnt relish being ANYONE'S leader. she didnt want the responsibility! she wanted to go her own way and do as she pleased just like always!::

:: having power, more than even she might have known in the bigger picture, did not mean she enjoyed being faced with fearfull, frightfull images in rapid fire both BEFORE the fact AND During. Precognition was a rare gift among witches and those who HAD it also had the inate strength to handle it but everyone has their limits..::

:: Alison was moving back...urging the others to do the same, but she knew the couldnt run back all the way out, not after they've come this far. they needed to do something!::

 

[Arsenal]

Wait....they're coming!

:: she said as she stopped , putting her arm out to the side and halting her baby brother!::

Mike saw the leeches even as Alison screamed. The way back was no option at all and the ladies seemed to be panicking. Mike stopped his retreat, allowing some of them to come behind him as he came up with a plan on the fly. He shot the ones at the front, spattering them as he went. His voice came out in a way that Delilah would recognize, a voice of AUTHORITY. His aim was to jar them into immediate action.

BLAZE!! Fill this hall with flame going forward about 20 feet past us!! Alison or Morgan, can either of you conjure a thick layer of salt in a ring around the entire passageway behind that?! Ava you and D are in reserve...this is concrete so feel free to let loose with lightning and photons if need be. Keep retreating... Cameron, we are all gonna be JUUUUUST fine.

A signal to the telepath to calm who he could. Mike was as worried about panic in this situation as anything else...

 

[Persephone]

Alison: Wait....they're coming!

"Who's com--"

Ava's eyes widened in horror seeing the huge leeches start to slither toward them.

[in a high pitched voice] "Nevermind!"

Air got caught in her throat as she tried to gasp in at the sheer disgust of the creatures. Quickly back peddling she instinctively grabbed for someone's hand--ANYONE'S--out of fear....and that person happened to be DELILAH.

Mike: Ava you and D are in reserve...this is concrete so feel free to let loose with lightning and photons if need be.

Hearing Mike's voice loud and clear, Ava looked over at Delilah realizing that SHE was the person whom she grabbed. Go figure...they met on bad terms, now she was holding onto her like a scared child. Quickly letting go of her hand, Ava gestured to her right.

"I'll take the ones on the right. You get the left."

Using her lightning, Ava began to pick off any stray leeches that happened to survive Blaze, Morgan, or Alison's attacks.

 

[Spellbinder]

through the passage

<< Morgan shoots a lofty, disdainfull GLARE at Mike as he presumes to pick with her.>>

HMPH! Put your tongue BACK in your mouth...before i PULL IT OUT!

<< Her own brand of humour could be a bit violent as Cameron could attest to during their many sexually charged banter sessions.>>

Delilah rolled her eyes.

"Careful, Mike, she bites."

<< Morgan smirked wickedly. Cameron knew how THOROUGH she could be in rebuffing a man >>

<< Ava quietly yelled for them to shut up...she had no interest in being turned into a zombie. Neither did Morgan for that matter. they all moved along until Alison halted them them and warned that something was coming.>>

What is it?

<< As Alison shrieked that they couldnt let them touch them...Morgan gasped and then her face contorted with disgust as the LEECHES were coming!>>

GAH!!

<< She held on to Blaze as she backed up, felling the urgent need to RETREAT. at that moment she FELT something else! a RUSH of FEAR and PANIC. Not HER OWN...but...>>

Mother!?

Blaze: You sense her here!? omigawd where IS SHE?

<< she said even as the group was recoiling from the coming attack of the leeches and Mike stepped up to try to keep the going. Morgan began to freak out...>>

She's TERRIFIED!!!

<< as the sisters both began to get even MORE upset, it seemed like Morgan might BOLT via stepping disc, taking Blaze with her...straight to their mother.>>

BLAZE!! Fill this hall with flame going forward about 20 feet past us!! Alison or Morgan, can either of you conjure a thick layer of salt in a ring around the entire passageway behind that?! BLaze: But our mother....

Delilah: Blaze, honey FOCUS! If we DON'T survive THIS here? WE won't be around to worry about much less RESCUE your mother.

<< Moving away from Morgan's grasp, Blaze nodded as she once again dug deep to find the strength she needed.>>

Blaze: Oh...KAY!

<< Blaze shuts her eyes and lifts her hands...clasping them in a gun pose as she thrusts her clasped hands forward and attacks, unleashing a powerfull blast of fire that corkscrews down the passage and ravages the leeches.>>

<< Morgan, still very upset manages to step forward. those leeches that escaped Blaze's attack are being hit by Ava's lightning and Delilah's photons. Morgan lifts her hands and gestures, a chime sounds off as she ignites magick.>>

<< casting a conjuring spell, a sparkling trail of dark magick flows out and around in a simlar pattern to Blaze's fire corkscrew effect before expanding to cover the circumfrance of the passage and soon...a large ring of SEA SALT manifests>>

I hope this works...

<< the salt is thick and as pure as it comes...and soon, it DOES seem to work as leeches that go for it (being ravenous as they are) are shriveling/burning up!>>

Ick..GROSS!


Alison: ...don't worry...i'll keep them from falling on us with a shield above our heads...

<< Morgan breathed in...then out slowly.>>

but what about my mother!? she's HERE...somewhere! i can feel it!

Alison: You can't leave, Morgan. The death glow is so strong...i can hardly SEE anything else! if you leave ...you could be lost here! we'll stay together...and find both your mother and haleigh. It's our only..

<< Morgan grimaces as Alison deflects a falling leech with her TK>>

Alison: Not much....

<< hearing a dreadfull groaning>>

[Black Widow]

Aqua Ring

Nicolas abruptly apologized and paid Haleigh a sincere compliment, then turned the tables on himself and let her see HIS mind, and his past. Haleigh softened a bit towards him, realizing that he was inexperienced in regards to women and matters of the heart. Karen seemed to take note, because she chastised Nicolas gently and then explained to Haleigh that there was a lot that was new to Nicolas, including the full scope of his powers.

Karen: "I'm afraid that his reactions to you will be a bit…extreme but its not malicious on his part. He's an inquisitive young man who is suddenly thrust into a sort of…puberty."

[smiling gently] "That explains a lot."

They moved on. Nicolas remained quiet, in speech and in Haleigh's mind. Karen made observations about the state of the Aqua Ring. Haleigh waded on, wondering how her life had gotten more complicated than she ever would have expected. Behind her, the water suddenly shifted and whirled and Karen let out a bloodcurdling scream. Haleigh pivoted back around quickly to see what was going on, just in time to catch a fleeting glimpse of an extremely LARGE neptune. Without hesistation, Haleigh opened fire into the beast, which didn't reach Karen but did manage to drag NICOLAS under water. Haleigh moved closer to Karen, searching the sloshing water for Nicolas or the mutated shark. The dim light and murky waters were not a problem for her eyes; she had x-ray vision. Neither Nicolas nor the Neptune were underfoot, they must have swam away, further into the Aqua Ring. As she searched, Haleigh felt a pang of worry that Nicolas might be hurt. She had NOT shot him, that much she knew. Her aim was impeccable, she never missed and she never accidentally shot the wrong target. But what if the Neptune had gotten a piece of him? There was blood in the water, but that could easily be the Neptune's. Where WERE they??

 

[Shadow Weaver]

the Aqua Ring

<< Karen was sure she was finished a violent end to a life frought with problems and heartache. she hardly had time to think but somehow, she was STILL ALIVE!? she heard gun shots and then Nicolas' pained cry. By now she was SOAKED with the sudden crest of water that had flooded over her. she coughed and sputtered as Haleigh drew near. gasping as she blinked her opal blue eyes and gripped the rail before her, she looked around, seeing Haleigh, but not...>>

NICOLAS!?

<< her voice echoes across the dark, watery labyrinth.>>

<< Haleigh seemed to be craining her neck, intently looking into the murky water. the doctor looked at her ally.>>

....anything!?

<< she looked as well but she couldnt see just what Haleigh was seeing. there were some other shapes...two more neptunes....and blood.>>

oh my stars....you dont think....

NICOLAS!!!

<< she leaned over a bit more, another younger neptune LUNGES out of the water at her, almost TAKING OFF her torso. she gasps as Haleigh quickly pulls her away and they fall back.>>

they...they're EVERYWHERE!

<< the grim possibility now seems to be more awful reality...as Karen looks grief stricken.>>

I told him...

<< she says trying to catch her breath.>>

I told him to LEAVE...to ESCAPE and just LEAVE me here! He didnt know what was going on...he didnt know how this place could BE! but he didnt listen! He came here totally innocent. He was a...a good boy!

<< the doctor says as she covers her face >>

and now...he's GONE! another loss...due in part...to what i've done!

<< the doctor had been through so much tonight...on TOP of all that had lead to it but if she and Haleigh were all that was left of the group...they were going to have to continue on, TOGETHER. Haleigh was accustomed to losing someone in the field...Karen was a doctor and a mother, she was older and while she had power and wisdom, this kind of nightmare would test ANYONE'S resilience.>>

<< the two women were on the metal walk way...stuck in the middle...as they both struggled with what seemed to be the apparent death of Nicolas and the fact they were now alone.>>

 

[Rampage]

Down and away Nicolas went as the large shark pulled him under. He felt a pain as the teeth dug into his flesh, although they made not NEARLY as much headway as he'd feared.

Invulnerable as well?

Nicolas grasped the jaws of the leviathan as he held his breath, then concentrated...

...teleporting out of the sharks jaws as he kept his hands by its mouth, then tore out and up, clouding the water with its blood. Nicolas looked out and then teleported back, his aim rather bad as he unexpectedly appeared BEHIND the pair.

I told him to LEAVE...to ESCAPE and just LEAVE me here! He didnt know what was going on...he didnt know how this place could BE! but he didnt listen! He came here totally innocent. He was a...a good boy!

<< the doctor says as she covers her face >>

and now...he's GONE! another loss...due in part...to what i've done!

It...apparently takes more than that to get rid of me, Ma. I'll be fine.

As the pair turned to face him, they would find him pulling teeth from his chest and stomach as he shook water from his upper body and face...

 

[Black Widow]

Aqua Ring

Karen: "….anything!?"

"No, the blood seems to have attracted a lot of attention."

Haleigh's calm, composed tone was in direct contrast to the frantic concern in Karen's every word. She wasn't allowing herself to jump to the conclusions that Karen was, and Haleigh had more experience with this sort of thing. It wouldn't do any good to panic. She remained calm, her expression blank, the only outward sign of strain was her white-knuckled grip on the rail as she searched the waters. Something was happening now…. It looked like a feeding frenzy.

Karen: "Oh my stars… you don't think…. NICOLAS!!!"

Karen saw it too, but she couldn't see the details that Haleigh saw. There was no human skeleton in the water below. The sharks were feeding on a dead Neptune… and each other. Haleigh was about to reassure Karen when one of the beasts lunges out of the water and towards them. Karen gasps, and Haleigh grabs a hold of the collar of her shirt and pulls the doctor back, out of the way. Karen doesn't even hardly REACT to the Neptune trying to take her out, instead she immediately plunges into despair over what she assumes has happened to Nicolas.

"Karen…."

Haleigh starts, but it's hard to explain exactly how she intuitively knows Nicolas isn't dead and gone. It was kind of like a sixth sense…. She just FELT like he was still nearby. She wondered if it had to do with having been in his mind before. And then, before she could make sense of it to explain to Karen, Nicolas' voice boomed out behind them and they both turned to see him pulling teeth from his chest.

"You're injured."

Haleigh stated with concern. She couldn't stop herself from noticing the way his wet shirt clung to his torso, but she DID instantly stop her mind from wandering any further. She looked away, down the walkway towards the control room.

"There should be a fully stocked first aid kit in the Control Room. You'll want to make sure you treat the wounds for infection and communicable disease. Let's go now… I've had quite enough of standing out here in the open like sitting ducks."

 

[Delilah Trelaven]

"Did you hear that? It was a scream. Very far away....but she sounded terrified!"

Delilah stopped walking as her ears went to the sound. Her eyes peered into the darkness. She listened intently, but heard nothing more from the woman...but there was another sound, something…

Wait....they're coming!

Delilah backed up with the others, her body exploding into light to allow everyone to see their new attackers well. The light rippled through her body as if she had caught fire. Ava grabbed her hand, and she gave it a reassuring squeeze.

Mike took charge, and Delilah and Ava set out to hold off the leeches from the others so the plan could be put into place. She clenched her right fist, and leveled her arm straight out from her body, the photon blasts blowing the disgusting creatures apart. Blaze burned the hell out of the leeches, and Morgan finished them off with salt.

Safe again for the moment, Delilah lowered her luminosity to the dim level it had been before.

Not much further everyone...

Delilah fell back next to Morgan and Blaze.

“We’ll find her.”

She gave them a confident smile. She knew they were worried, but Karen was a survivor. She wasn’t sure they would all make it out together, but she was certain they would make it to Karen.

 

[Seer]

deeper in

<< Karen, who by now was shivering, stood up and noted Nicolas' injuries. James Marcus had documented the mutants durability and healing ability. He wanted to harness that part of his genetic template for future virus experimentation, still surviving the jaws of a NEPTUNE was much, even for Nicolas. Haleigh cautioned him to be carefull until they reached the control room, but Karen informed them both that she was not without her own resources. Using her magick, she heals Nicolas' wounds and Haleigh offer's Karen her own jacket, suggesting she remove her now soaked lab coat.>>

<< the trio move on once more, avoiding a few snapping jaws of neptunes and out running other bizarre creatures that were lurking in the shadows or charging up from the water.>>

<< after working their way around the wide center of the aqua ring, they the found the control room. the top hatch of the dome to the control room was accessible to Haleigh and as Nicolas held the water back around them, they quickly entered inside and sealed themselves in.>>

<< they were now INSIDE the "brain" of the aqua ring...completely submerged. it was a bizarre looking "otherwise" they now had a view of from the omni directional windows and the control counsel was still working. there was water on the floor of the control room and and in one of the seats was a slumped over body. dead...or perhaps undead...it couldnt be determined yet.>>

<< this place was connected to a smaller pod room by an enclosed walkway...where the emergency control lever for the water flow of the aqua ring was located. the walkway had leeches...seeming to lay in wate and there was no telling WHAT was in the pod room.>>

meanwhile


<< the rest of the group moves together, close together...cautiously. for Alison, being a precog makes this no easier. If anything she's having a HARD time controlling her emotions after what she "sees" in any possible time threads relating to this situation...some more probable than others.>>

<< as they reach the apparent end.....they all feel themselves slipping forward and DOWN. the passage suddenly SLOPES down and they are FALLING. their own screams echo up and down as they fall out of the passage and into a dark labyrinth like place...massive in its expanse.>>

<< all come falling out...Morgan and Blaze manage to become airborn. Morgan catches Delilah's hand while Alison uses her TK to cushion her, Mike, Ava and Cameron's fall.>>

<< the land on a metal precipice over looking what appeared to be a flowing water way and several feet ahead...the sound and sight of an engineered waterfall.>>

<< there were definately undergound now, in a well designed, highly industrial place...and water was the dominating sound around them, for now.>>

Arklay Research Facility

Delilah fell back next to Morgan and Blaze.

“We’ll find her.”

She gave them a confident smile. She knew they were worried, but Karen was a survivor. She wasn’t sure they would all make it out together, but she was certain they would make it to Karen.

I hope so, Dee.

<< she said in a worried tone as she looked at her best friend.>>



<< she felt Mike bumping into her from behind as he was slipping forward.>>

Do you MIND!?

<< she said in a diva tone...>>

Blaze: Morg...I'm SLIPPING bad!

<< it wasnt just Mike...it was all of them.>>

Oh hell...hold on to me....

<< and just like that...they were FALLING. it was so sudden and disorienting at first. Morgan shut her eyes. for a moment she wanted to just let go, hoping that right before she hit the ground she'd wake up in her bed...that none of this had been real at all.>>


<< but her mother's impression in her psyche...that mother/daughter empathy, it kept her rooted to this horrid reality. she had to stay with it.>>

<< she stayed loose and turned her body, taking flight and slowing her descent as she caught hold of Delilah's hand.>>

okay....okay... we're landing now. we're landing...

<< she says as she catches her breath.>>

<< Blaze had taken flight as well and was now descending as well. Alison kept the others from slamming down.>>

<< landing on a large, metallic precipice...>>

where the hell are we NOW?

<< looking far down to see a flowing water way which lead to what appeared to be a water fall off in the distance one way..but back the otherway nothing but blackness.>>

 

[Delilah Trelaven]

Delilah continued on, until they hit a dead end. She turned around to say, “What do we do now?” but before she could get the words out the floor dropped out from beneath her and she was falling. She couldn’t get her breath to speak or scream. And then she slowed abruptly as Morgan caught her hand.

Okay....okay... we're landing now. we're landing...

Here feet found solid ground once again, and she took a deep breath. She bent over, putting her hands on her knees as she still felt a little woozy from the fall.

“Is everyone okay?”

Their way was blocked by water on one side and another black passage on the other.

“Seems like we only have one choice, unless someone has a boat in their pocket?”

 

[Persephone]

Feeling like Alice falling down the rabbit hole, Ava began to tumble in the air down a completely darkened shaft....or so she assumed. Screaming out of sheer fear of how far she was falling, where she was falling to, and what would be there if she survived the fall, suddenly she stopped. Panting out panicked breaths of air, her nose skimmed the surface of the dirty concrete floor; her body only being supported by Alison's telekinisis. Placing her palms on the floor, her body 'plopped' down as Alison released her.

Shutting her eyes for a breif moment, Ava needed to collect herself. She was a god damned model! Not a adventure junkie! Not a cop! Not a freakin' character from Resident Evil! Her most dangerous activity was flying coach! Taking in a few long deep breaths, finally Ava pushed herself up off the ground finding herself directly next to Alison.

"Thanks..."

She said with a shakey voice.

Delilah: Is everyone okay?

[deadpan] "Peachy."

Flipping her messed up locks of brunette hair behind her shoulder.

"Like a day at the spa."

Looking over at the waterfall before turning to look at the pitched black passage, even with her enhanced eye sight, the passage was so deep even AVA couldn't see anything but blackness.

"I vote not to go into the creepy dark passageway."

 

[Prophet]

Somewhere.. Dangerous!

As if things weren't bad enough as it was before long the entire group found themselves falling through what seemed to be complete blackness. He let out a terrifying scream that seemed to reverbarate around him in all directions, it was either that, or the screams of his friends. Regardless pure adrenaline was coursing through his body when suddenly he just stopped in mid air and he could sense that the others had stopped as well. As collapsed to the floor he shot up like a gun and tried to acclimate to his surroundings.

"Thanks Alley Cat..."

Cameron rolled his eyes out of pure instinct at Delilah's comment.

"Yeah Delilah, I was just about to sing about i'm so okay!"

Taking a moment he wiped the sweat off of his brow, he finally knew the meaning of a cold sweat, and he absolutely did not like the feeling.
"Sorry, Trelaven.. i'm just slightly on edge..."

The telepath lost his concentration as he was just overwhelmed with the sound of water all around them. Water was supposed to be a soothing sound. Tranquil. This water had a much more... Jaws sort of feeling to it, so much so he felt he could hear the minor keys to the theme song being played in the background.

"I don't know.. the water seems alot more dangerous to me. Things in the water.. swim. FAST and i'm not the particularly best swimmer... And besides with as much fire power power Trelaven and Ava have we could light up that passageway like theirs no tomorrow!"

He waited for the others to respond. They needed to make a decision fast.

 

[Harbinger]

deeper in

:: Alison tucked some of her blue/black hair behind her ear as she knelt down and extended her hand out to the flowing water way. the others spoke but she instead, closed her eyes and "LOOKED".::

:: there was more to the water alright, but not what they thought....not HERE at this point anyway.::

If we go toward the darkness, we're going AWAY from Karen and Haleigh.

we have to get in the water...

:: she said as she stood up.::

It's the only way.

Delilah, i can "see" that you have the ability to manifest solid light constructs? can you enclose us in a large bubble? we'll have to go into and under the water...and I'll propell us with my power, i think i can do it but I can't have my concentration interrupted while I'm doing it...

I must warn you, that what you will see....is monstrous, but no matter what you DO see...we're INSIDE the bubble! Ava...we'll need air to breathe while we're in there.


::she points to the space above the flowing water.::

On three we jump into the air. Don't be...don't afraid. Delilah will enclose in a large bubble and I will submerge us. Ava, you keep the air supply in the bubble going. Remember...I've never tried THIS before...so i CAN'T be interrupted. if we get stuck in the water....well...

I can feel the moisture in the air. the volume of water down here must be tremendous!

Blaze: having a flash back to your topless sunbathing by the circular river dear?

<< glaring at her younger sister.>>

Oh my...someone's sense of humour is still VERY MUCH in tact i see. If i werent so worried about you, I'd push you into the water and ask you how it was!

<< Morgan says as she nudges Blaze before looking at the water and following it to where it apparently dropped into a water fall.>>

Blaze...she's here...i can FEEL her now more than before. She's SCARED and she's TIRED. She can't last much longer here...what if...what if we don't get to her in time!? maybe I should just teleport US...

Blaze: Remember what Alison said, Morg. If we seperate from them..we'll die! we'll probably all die ANYWAY but at least together we're dying while we're doing something about it. what good will we be to mom if WE are dead ahead of our time? I KNOW you're scared. I am TOO...youve been there for me all night and you havent once looked down on me. That's why I love you Morg. Deep down, under that glamorous, icy armour, there's a woman with a heart who loves deeply. I know you care...and we ALL want to succeed. If we all stick together, I think maybe we just might have a chance!

<< the sisters look at each other. giving each other's hands a squeeze of reassurance. Alison spoke of their next course of action.>>

Alison: it's the only way to reach Karen!

Morgan: but my HAIR...I...

<< it was REFLEX. She almost didnt realize how VAIN she sounded. She was a MODEL, not a heroine! Blaze looked slightly amused and embarrassed all at once as Morgan exclaimed.>>

Blaze: don't worry diva, we'll be inside a bubble...or something. itll be like that awful Jaws sequel where they were all under water...and a giant shark came and...

Alison: thanks VERY much for your HELP there, Blaze.

<< they were all afraid, jittery and unsure and for most of them...this was worse than any horror movie. the fact that they had POWERS ...and now had to depend on them and each OTHER for their lives...with no surety of the outcome...it was weighing on them all and manifesting from each of them different. Mike and Delilah were the most trained to deal with such situations but even THIS was much for them.>>

Morgan: I'm sorry...It's just that....

<< she straights up and refocuses her resolves.>>

I have my moments...so please bare with me. But I'm ready to go when you all are.

<< and after they all came to similar conclusion...Morgan took Blaze's hand as Alison counted down.>>

Morgan: oh gawd...hang on Blaze!

<< Morgan takes one hesitant step and then dashes off the precipice, jumping UP as high as natural physics will allow her. her instinct to take FLIGHT was so strong but she knew they were about to be enclosed in a giant bubble.>>

 

[Delilah Trelaven]

Delilah stood with her arms crossed, looking down, waiting for the others.

If we go toward the darkness, we're going AWAY from Karen and Haleigh. We have to get in the water...

Her head snapped up.

"We have to do WHAT?!"

She looked at the rushing water.

"You can't be serious."

It's the only way. Delilah, i can "see" that you have the ability to manifest solid light constructs? can you enclose us in a large bubble?

"Yeah, I can do that. But I've never done it underwater before..."

Delilah honestly wasn't too certain that this was going to work. She trusted Alison, but their chance of success seemed tenuous at best. She counted to three silently, took a deep breath and jumped.

She clenched her fists in to her sides, and then threw them outwards from her body along with her legs. A blast of blue light radiated from her body as it expanded. Once it had surrounded all of them, it appeared to take a more solid form, though still transparent.

 

[Persephone]

Alison: If we go toward the darkness, we're going AWAY from Karen and Haleigh. we have to get in the water...

"Works for me! I'm not going any further in this hell hole than I have to."

Even though the risks of going in the water definitely outweighed the risks of going down the creepy dark passageway, Ava felt confident that they would be able to fight whatever was in there. Between Morgan's teleporting discs, Alison's telekenisis, and Delilah's phaser blasts, they were pretty well off.

Alison; Ava...we'll need air to breathe while we're in there.

[nodding] "Right."

Standing by the edge of the precipice Ava inhaled a deep breath while looking down.

"You better catch us Trelaven...."

Jumping just as the others did, Ava began to free fall toward the water when suddenly a blue bubble of light formed around them. It looked transparent and unable to support everyone inside....like they would fall through as soon as they hit the water. Fortunately, it held up.

As soon as Ava adjusted her balance due to the bubble bobbing in the water, she created a warm breeze of fresh air within it; knowing that the water temperature was much cooler than the outside.

"We're good on oxygen....as long as the bubble stays in tact.
