'Seinfeld' Co-Star Spouts Racial Slurs

i moved this to TV Land (considering the "Seinfeld" connection) and then i read it...

VERY disturbing indeed...especially when he said "50 years ago we would've had you upside down with a fucking fork stuck up in you"

that shows what kind of mentality HE has and i really dont think an "apology" can fix this.

you'd be AMAZED at how many racist celebrities we actually have, just look at Mel Gibson! lol

It unfortunately shows what lies beneath the surface with some people. It is especially frightening as a man of color, because this guy had given no previous indication that he felt this way at all.

celebrities in general tend to have some ridiculous notions and ideas and yet they feel that THEY are the ones who need to unlighten us "normal folks". it IS scarey when you think about just WHO (celebrities, politicians etc) DOES have racist feelings and what they might do if they held sway over us all.

Im just sick over this one. Just when you want to believe things are different, you get ugly reminders that it really isnt all the time. My grandfather always tells me to be mindfull, because he feels that today is worse than his childhood, because at least then, you knew what to expect because it was in the open, nowadays, its so covert, you never know when your going to get blind sided.

Richards 'shattered' by his racial tirade

This is the latest from CNN:

NEW YORK (AP) -- Comedian Michael Richards said Sunday he did not consider himself a racist, and said he was "shattered" by the comments he made to two young black men during a tirade at a Los Angeles comedy club.

Richards appeared on the Rev. Jesse Jackson's nationally syndicated radio program, "Keep Hope Alive," as a part of a series of apologies for the incident. He said he knew his comments hurt the black community, and hoped to meet with the two men.

Richards to meet with offended clubgoers

This is the latest from CNN:

-- Michael Richards will apologize in person to the four black men he targeted in a tirade of racial slurs during a recent comedy club performance.

A retired judge will mediate the meeting and determine whether he should take any other action to resolve the matter, Richards' spokesman and an attorney for the men said Friday.

A cash settlement could be part of the resolution, said Howard J. Rubenstein, who represents Richards.

"My client Michael hopes to put it behind him," Rubenstein said.

A time and place for the meeting has not been set.
