Alright, I'll try to rebuild the character types we were working on before the majority of the members start to pour in.....the Undead won't be too hard since i made it to begin with, but i didn't get a good look at the Harpie one....so should I do some research and do it kinda like I did with the Undead?

Harpie

Stylish women with fierce fighting ability and an array of surprise tactics. Their mythological roots, combined with the updated glamor give them a unique flair when it comes to close range battle.

this idea was presented by gwendolyn.......we were working on the power table for this species when the shit hit the fan.....does anyone have that information saved? the harpie was intended to be a a cross between the harpies of myth and the "black canary" character from birds of prey.

Nobody had it saved :( :'( Harpies I can do realtively eaisly with some research and such, but I don't know anything about the "balck canary"....i never really watched Birds of Prey....

the black canary is connected to Batman and Catwoman........shes an incredible martial artist, assassin and has some interesting powers...one of which was the "bird cry" or something like that where she could unleash a high pitched sonic scream......it packed concussive impact and could shatter objects

I have both saved, it appears. Here ya go:

The Undead
Sometimes more loosely called Vampires, this is a race of beings that have managed to secure a semi-immortal life free from natural death. Appearing always as normal human beings, supernatural form only classified by they appearance of fangs, the the undead is able to blend in almost anywhere. While, still deadly sensitive to ultraviolent light (such as the sun) the undead have evolved into a fromidible specie. They are the epitomy of style and decadence in the nether realms, but are usually only concearned with their own ambiguities. The undead can use their fangs to feed on the blood of mortals this also increases their healing ability, super factors, and is a necessity to maintain their powers.

Level 1: Natural Weaponry, Increased Physical Prowess, Regeneration
The undead possess the amazing advantageous mutation of an improved natural attack (allowing them to attack with fangs and claws). These natural weapons are usually retractable thus allowing the specie to appear normal the majority of the time. The undead are stronger and quicker than species. The Undead also have the ability to "Hyper Heal" or Regenerate wounds and lost body parts.

Level 2: Mental / Empathic Manipulation and Flight
The undead have the common ability to "hypnotize" their opponetts, however, eye contact must be made when using this ability. Mind control can be a useful technique, but it will not work on species of superior intelligence or other undead at a higher rank. Empathic control over an opponet's emotions does not require eye contact and can be used on any being of any specie. The undead may also begin to manipulate their body at this level causing it to rise off the ground in a sybalance of flight.

Level 3: Hyper Sense
Abilities included in this category are the sensing of auras, sharpened senses, and telepathy. Sensing auras can help the undead to distinguish between illusions and reality. By sensing the aura, the undead can detect invisible beings as well as tell the alignment of them (good or evil). Shaprened senses include increased sense of sight, hearing, smell, etc... The undead may also use a form of Psionic skills in mind reading and contact. The undead may read the minds of others at equal and lower levels as well as talk to any person without speaking aloud.

Level 4: Earth Meld and Animal Control
With earth Melding the undead can sink into the earth (along with any items carried on their person), safe from the sunlight and above ground attacks. This skill only works on natural soil, not on flooring or concrete. The undead are repellant to animals of at least some intelligence, but animals (especially bats, wolves, and rats) are actually attracted to the undead. This ability allows the undead to summon the animals to aid them in battle.

Level 5: Obfuscation
Obfuscation is a form of illusion which affects the minds of onlookers, causing them to subconsciously ignore the undead. It will not prevent them from being recorded on video or by a camera, although an onlooker watching one through a recording device is still affected and will not notice the recorded figure until after they are gone. This skill is also called "Glamor" in which it allows the undead to cast a temporary (length equal to level) illusion on the battle field.

Level 6: Shapeshifting, Telekinesis, and Energy Drain
One of the most primary and useful abilities of the undead. The undead can transform just their eyes into animal eyes for even more heightened sense, they can transform themselves into an animal, or even transform their entire corporal bodies into a mist form. The undead are at the peak of their mental strength at this point and can utilize their superior minds to unlease forces of minor telekinetic force (throwing someone back, levitating objects, etc...). The undead can also drain the life away from their opponets through contact with their hands. this weakens their opponets and heals any wounds the undead may have substained in battle.

Harpies

Level1 : Talons/Wings - Access to both powerful wings and sharp crooked talons.

Level 2: Voodoo Magic – The ability to harness the ability to curse or cause physical, mental, spirtual pain. Be creative as you like, you also gain a Voodoo doll, supplied with pins, needles, etc.

Level 3: PSI Scream – An ear shattering that pierces the ears of your foes far and wide. this sonic attack is also an assault upon the psyche of the victim it is unleashed against...causing migraine headaches, nosebleeds and at the higher levels: hemorages. the PSI Scream can be used to deliver sonic concussive impact....punching through walls, knocking down foes or pushing objects back.

Level 4: Telepathic healing - The ability to heal any sort of damage with just a thought. Also can reverse the damage rendered upon back to the enemy with the power of the mind.

Level 5: Comatose - The ability to cause fits of slumber in your enemy, they can't resist it. They feel their bodies requiring sleep.

Level 6: Assassination - The member gains control over many types of skills based on Assassination. Anything goes, ex: slitting the throat with a paper clip.

thanks

excellent work Titania!

i will tweak the Harpie's information....while Dan can tweak the Undead.

then i will post both of them in the character type catalogue.

Titania.....I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!

WooHoo! so I'll just tweak around that and write it up formally to be voted on and posted.

:hihi: No problem guys. :D I say, these new types look terrific already.

Ok....so here's my tweaking on harpies with a lil actual myth and some spicing up ;) :D

Harpies
Mythological beings whose legacy has become spurratic. Origionally described by Homer, these creatures have a nice mix to them. Harpies have two forms, one of which is a young blonde woman, able to seduce any man; and the other is a more beastly appearance which includes fearsome wings and sharp talons.

Level1: Shapeshifting / Enchanting Eyes
Harpies at this level have the ability to shapeshift between their two forms: the beauitiful blonde woman and the fearsome bird-like creature. Harpies, while appearing as a blonde woman, may use their beauity at this level to enduce a quasi hyponitc state in males attempting to seduce them into doing their bidding. In the bird-like form, wings and sharp crooked talons appear. The Haprie can fly and can attack from above using her wings and talons.

Level 2: PSI Scream / Shreak
This power works in either of the haprie forms, it allows the Harpie to produce a sonic PSI attack from their mouths. This sonic attack is also an assault upon the psyche of the victim it is unleashed against...causing migraine headaches, nosebleeds and at the higher levels: hemorages. The PSI Scream can be used to deliver sonic concussive impacts....punching through walls, knocking down foes, or pushing objects back.

Level 3: VooDoo Magic
The ability to curse or cause physical, mental, and spirtual pain. Be creative as you like, you also gain a Voodoo doll, supplied with pins, needles, etc. Keeping in line with traditional VooDoo magic, this requres a personal effect to work (hair, piece of skin, personal object, etc.) This is also good to attack invisible opponets or to stop them from doing something (i.e. stop them from moving by sticking pins in the leg of the doll....stop them from speaking by sticking pins in the throat...etc.) *Be warned, the doll is not part of your origional character and therefore can be taken from and used against you.

Level 4: Telepathic Abilities
At this level the Harpise gains limited telepathic abilities. The Harpie can talk to others without having to speak, read minds to an extent, and heal damage with just a thought.

Level 5: Hypnotic Abilities
At this level the Harpie gains certain hypnotic abilities. They include: being able to make your opponet fall into a deep sleep and taking limited control over them. The effects of the hypnosis last as long as the level of the Harpie.

Level 6: Elemental Winds
Keeping in tradition with the old theory that harpies origionally were wind spirits given substanance by the gods, the Harpies at this level gain a limited control over the winds. The Harpies can call upon the winds to blast an oponnett, blow at their back making them fly faster, create wind storms, call the artic winds to freeze an oponett, etc.

i like it for the most part.........BUT the character types in the MoE are ALL glamorous and attractive in their own way. i dont want to see a character type that is thought to be gross looking.....so i would rather that the "typical" image of the Harpie be defined as a form that they can adapt when angry or in a fierce battle.

the harpies on Charmed were very cutting edge in their manner of dress and very beautiful in their appearence...that is the way i would like to them to be thought of here as well.

the power descriptions for the Harpie are fine so if everyone is in agreement..i will add it on.

Ill leave the Undead Character type to Dan.

yes i read your initial description........but harpies as they appeared on charmed were also brunette and one of them was also a black woman with black hair in ringlets. :)

I like the species power tables very much for both species, but I do agree with Farrah everything is MoE is very glamorous and so should these two be.. the harpies should become a little more evil looking when they attack but not monsterous...

ive posted the Harpie character type in the catalogue and power table.

Dan can post the Undead when he thinks its ready for introduction.

I like the looks of it......do the powers and description look ok to everyone?

i think they are good.........they arent retreads of anything else ive seen listed among our character types ;)

alright then....I'll post them :D

Oh and once upon a time we had "Demonic Visionaries" I think we should reinstate this character type. I don't remember the exact specifications, but they were a combo of all the "omiptent" beings of Charmed and other mythyical sources. This would be good for those who really don't want to battle in AHBL, for leaders who "retire" but still want to be a part of the game, or for people who want to play, but don't have enough time to really keep up with a battle in AHBL.
