Pennsylvania holiday display neighbor: Ruining our Christmas? Bad neighbor alert

I agree it's questionable, if not BAD taste, the decorations the neighbor put up...but ppl are going to defend someone's right to display something as truly awful as a confederate flag or a swastika, then this person should be covered under that same right....again, even though it's in very bad taste.

Usually, we just have the guy who puts the giant light up cross in his yard and his neighbors complain every year because it's so bright.

Your post made me think about something: In Detroit, the day before Halloween was widely celebrated as "Devil's Night" when ppl would go out & play pranks on each other, toilet paper the neighbor's houses, set trash cans on fire etc. it was cool until the 80s, when ppl started burning down HOUSES :/

I didn't realise Devil's Night was an actual thing. I only ever saw it in The Crow.

Well it seems we know what triggered his new decs, he used to have up lovely festive ones and was asked to turn them down for being too bright. He probably thought "screw you". What I don't get is what they expected the police to do, he is not breaking any laws, stop wasting police time.

Am I the only one that was disappointed there were no pictures to go with the article?

Yeah, it was a long standing unofficial "holiday" of sorts, but it was regional, only celebrated in Detroit. It was naughty fun but by the time I was a born & a little girl, it had taken a turn for the worst. THe city leadership actively campaigned against it & even managed to get ppl to start referring to it as "Angels Night" LOL w/ ppl patrolling the neighborhoods for suspicious activity & such.
