I am happy for her. But the trend of publicizing tips bothers me. It opens people to scrutiny without the benefit of context.

Yeah things like that just don't happen over here, and I don't just mean the tip thing as tipping isn't a thing here.

In Scotland are your servers paid a higher hourly wage, @Mary Stuart ?

Yeah, & lay-away came back during the height of the economic downturn b/c ppl really werent buying anything then.

Yes the servers here are paid above minimum wage, also when we pay our bill service charge is usually included in the final price, same with tax.
