When revenge equals justice

Haleigh stood behind her sister, placing her hands on Ava's shoulders, as the gem grew to open a doorway sized portal and bathed them both in a soft red light. Haleigh shuddered with a silent sob before sucking in a deep breath and trying to stay more or less composed for her sister's sake, as it dawned on her that this would be the SECOND time she would watch someone she cared about disappear into the Seige Perilous.

Dark thunderheads above rolled violently and thunder BOOMED overhead.... and Haleigh attention was called to where most of the group had now gathered.... Erika had come back... and Ororo had appeared in response. Haleigh knew this was something to stay out of... as it was between Alison and Erika... but as Ororo reprimanded Erika, and Erika tried one last time to hurt Alison, she revealed who had killed Cameron after all. Haleigh felt a stab of pain and a surge of anger... of ALL people, it had been ERIKA?! she had BETRAYED her own brother.... betrayed them ALL... and then she'd KILLED him to get back at Alison.... and now everyone around Cameron was hurting... and Erika had the NERVE to whine about how SHE felt?

Haleigh was ready to lash out and give Erika a piece of her mind... but Ororo beat her to it.... with such intensity that Haleigh has to shut her light-sensitive eyes. Lightning cracks and strikes all around them, and by the time Haleigh opens her eyes, there is darkness and only a scorch mark where Erika had stood, which Haleigh can barely see through the spots in her eyes [as if she'd looked directly into the sun or a bright flashlight]. She looked back up at Ororo, blinking repeatedly to get her eyesight to readjust. Alison thanked Ororo... but Haleigh could bring herself to say anything. She cast her gaze at Alycia... wondering if the attourney had gotten everything she wanted. Not likely.... as she had vowed to kill Ava to hurt Stavros... and Haleigh, as she had promised, stood in the way. Was Alycia still so bloodthirsty for Sharon's avengence that she didn't CARE if it caused Haleigh such pain? Did Alycia think that she was the ONLY one mourning Sharon, and therefore, the only one entitled to vengeance?
There was no way to tell by looking at the former DA... and there was no way Haleigh was going to ask, at this point. She felt a deep seated hostility for Alycia developing inside her. Where once there had been respect for a woman who'd been ever the professional... now there was repugnance for a woman who blindly attacked her enemies with hatred that belonged to them ALL... acting as though this crusade was hers alone, when truly... they should have all come here TOGETHER.

< The lightning went in and out of her body in a pain that she had never experienced in her life. Though she was so defiant and determined, her death was a welcomed friend. She couldn't live with the fact that she killed her brother and she knew she had been manipulated by Malice. Her pain was so real and so strong and when she tried to come to terms with what she had done, something wouldn't let her. A lingering effect of Malice's power. The Lightning was literally charring her from the inside out as she screamed out. >

"I MIGHT BE DEAD, but CAMERON is NOT! LOOK AT THOSE GIRLS! LOOK AT THEM! They aren't who they appear to be.. They ARE CAMERON! They ARE CAMERON!"

< She was consumed entirely and in a explosion of true white light the body of Erika King EXPLODED and was shattered among the debris and people on the shore and the compound. Erika King was dead. >

:: Ororo stood before the rest of the group and their allies, looking upon them all with a rather stone faced expression. after a few moments of silence as the winds blew away some of the ash and dust from the spot where Erika once stood, the immortal weather goddess spoke.::

the menace of Erika has been dealt with. Regrettable that she escaped my scrutiny long enough to cause the damage that she has. No matter how much time has passed, or what i have learned...even i can be flawed in my judgement at times.

:: For all that she had become since first arriving to Limbo so many years ago...Ororo never forgot her roots as mutant or human. She knew that she could still make mistakes..and that there were always lessons to be learned.::

Do not thank me Alison. It is I who should be apologizing to you...all of you. Erika prooved early on to be most inept at finding and managing the balance between white and dark magick, her mind, her spirit were WEAK and she revealed how fake and phoney she was. I cast her out of Limbo, not realizing how desperate and depraved she was and that made her a PRIME candidate for Malice, who was able to mainpulate her and use her as her catspaw.

Erika showed the ultimate ugliness of the King clan...she became the very thing she once lauded herself for being AGAINST. she was a disgrace to everything that i showed her.

:: looking to Alison::

Never let ANYONE tell you that you were wrong for abandonning your family when you did so many years ago. You have always possessed the strength and courage to do make the HARD choices...to do the things others are too weak and afraid to do and you KNEW that your family was destined for destruction. While you are considered to be the "cold" one...you have prooven to be the one with the most strength of character and you ACKNOWLEDGE your own capacity for darkness and COMMAND it to your advantage. In that you and I are very much alike.

You are free now, Alison. Free to finally mourn your brother, and to continue your life as you will.

:: waving her hand...a sparkling wind effect travels around her and flows out in front of the group.::

behold...the spiritual essence of Cameron King, now released from the physical shell of the "twins" a testament to Cameron's strength of will to HANG ON to this reality despite his death. he wanted to reach out to you Alison....and to you Haleigh...to you ALL. He wanted to let you know that he was finally OKAY but he was not able to effectively communicate in this manifestation.

:: Ororo holds her hands out...and the essence of Cameron King flows forward to Alison, circling around her, allowing them to communicate on a deeper level that goes beyond audible or verbal words. allowing them to say their peace to each other as only a brother and sister can and to say goodbye.::

:: Ororo herself nods with satisfaction as the spiritual essence flows away from Alison and upward...fading away in a sparkling green haze of magick.::

:: turning to Haleigh and Ava.::

this is an opportunity. the chance for you [Ava] to live your life anew, free of the sins of your father and the ever present scrutiny that would await you in this world. Your loyalty, your strength of will...they are marvelous traits to have. Allow yourself the chance to use them in a way that BENEFITS you, in a life where you no longer have to look over your shoulder.

:: gesturing to Persephone::

come forward , child. it is time for you to fully acclimate into this timeline. this is where you belong. The Darkchilde sent you here just as Ava is not being sent to a new place...and like Ava, you deserve the chance to fully appreciate this reality in which you are apart of.

:: Guardian stood...in her heart and mind, she felt more alive than she had in AGES. FINALLY she was FREE. Erika and Kelly were DEAD and she wouldnt have to spend another moment on them. As Ororo offered her own apology for not being able to deal with Erika sooner, Alison looked upon the weather goddess. She didnt want Ororo blaming herself for what Alison felt was BAGGAGE that she should've dealt with ages ago. Erika was ALWAYS an embarrassment, so was Kelly and how ironic that despite all their problems...Cameron and Alison were ultimately the most connected through it all.::

:: Alison nodded silent as Ororo spoke. her words were a source of comfort and encouragement and as the haunting soft green glow of Ororo's magick sparkled into view, she saw and FELT the presence of Cameron. the essence of all that he was flowed forward like a never ending stream of wind as Ororo directed it toward Alison.::

:: she looked up, closed her eyes and held out her hands as an eerie chiming sound could be heared in the air. she felt Cameron touch her heart and she reached out to him..their sibling bond transcended any psi screen or any other obvious barrier of communication. a tear flowed down her face as she slowly exhaled...finally able to say a personal farewell to her brother KNOWING that he would be okay now.::

Goodbye Cameron. Rest now, baby brother.

:: the stream flowed away from Alison and back toward Ororo before up into the air above her before disappearing in a haze of sparkling green orbs. Alison slowly opened her eyes....and a look of peace could be seen on her face. her cobalt blue eyes were a bit misty.::

She was mezmerised by the actions taking place in front of her. As Ororo appeared and everything around them froze, it was breathtaking. Vivica felt honored that Ororo chose to keep her alert for the confrontation. She couldn't believe it. Erika had killed Cameron. It was too much for her to deal with. She thought of the times that she had consoled Erika after his supposed accident and how they planned the funeral together. Tears streamed down her face as she couldn't believe how stupid and manipulated she had been. She picked up the gun and along with Alycia's cue she began to open fire on the woman aiming three bullets right for the CENTER her head, but as Ororo continued to appear, the bullets stopped along with all of the officers and everyone else.

"I can't believe her...I cannot believe her..."

But justice would soon be rightfully served as Vivica watched Ororo obliterate the woman right where she stood. She was amazed at the raw natural power of Ororo. She controlled the elements as she was one with them and she was. As Erika was dispatched of, the Weather Goddess began to explain about the twins! She was right! Cameron was the twins. She had felt it from the moment she first laid eyes on them. There was something not right about them, and now in the prescence of his very essence, Vivica collapsed on the floor as Cameron said goodbye to her sister. God, she missed him so much. She missed just talking and not having to finish her sentences because he could. She missed him down to her very CORE and she would never get over him, but knowing he was okay, knowing he was moved on and rising above.. just knowing that he was happy, would suffice the pain for now.

"He's so beautiful..."

Vivica watched now as Ororo moved on to talk to the others about what was to come. What would happen to the Six? Were they even the Six anymore? Would they continue their work after all that happened. The death of Cameron, the betrayal of Alexis, Erika King, Malice, The Inferno, and now the even more perplexing debacle with Ava and Haleigh. This was all just so much. Vivica was glad to be on the outskirts of everything. She now respected these women more than she EVER had before.

[ Delilah gasped. Her eyes darted to Alison. Erika killed Cameron. ERIKA killed Cameron. Not Malice. Not Mystech. Alison's sister had killed her brother. She resisted the urge to rip Erika's head from her body. She knew Ororo would do what was necessary. And if not...it was Alison's right, not hers.

She watched the unbridled vengeance that was Ororo's retribution. The goddess was horrifying...strange that one being contained so many faces within her. It looked like murder...but it felt like...like...justice. As Cameron's spirit was released and was able to make peace with Alison, and Ororo spoke to Ava about the life she would be able to lead, she felt a calmness descend over the group.

Things were on their way to being right again. ]

:: The scene was graphic and fabulous; Erika completely obliterated by a massive lightning bolt. But as Erika's body was being consumed by the power of Ororo, she began to shout out who REALLY killed Cameron King. Immediately looking to Alison at the revelation that Erika herself had murdererd her own brother, Persephone knew this would hurt Alison, but also be the nail in the coffin. She would finally get to let all ties go of her family without feeling guilt. ::

:: Turning back to the scene, as Erika's body exploded, Persephone shut her eyes and shielded them with the back of her hand. Suddenly all was silent. Looking to where Erika once stood, she was now nothing more than a pile of ash blowing away in the wind. Looking back up at Ororo, she finally spoke, closing this chapter in Alison's life for good. ::

:: As Ororo turned her attention to Ava, Persephone knew this was it. Whatever was about to happen would happen, and she would be 'intergrated' into this world for good. In all honesty, she was slightly frightened. She would finally be leaving her 'old' life behind...there was no going back to it. Looking to Ororo as she called her forth, Persephone's face showed no outward emotions indicating her hesistance about doing this. Stepping forward, she wasn't sure what was to happen next, or how this would be done. The goddess just kept quiet and awaited her 'new' destiny. ::

The scene diplayed before Ava was amazing. The power this woman, Ororo, had was incredible...power that could of easily been used AGAINST Ava during the raid to capture her father. A true testiment of what Haleigh truly did for her. As the scene died down and everyone made their peace about this Cameron King character, the silver haired woman turned to Ava. Looking at her with uneasy eyes, Ava took a deep breath in before looking to Haleigh.

"I don't want to go....I don't want to leave my father. I don't want to leave you.."

Lowering her eyes before closing them, Ava knew this was the only way she would 'survive'. For once in her life, she wasn't putting her father first, but HERSELF. Drawing Haleigh in, Ava burried her face into her sister's mass of blonde hair.

"I wish things could have been different, Leigh.."

Stroking her hand down Haleigh's hair, she finally pulled away intaking a deep breath. Her eyes were watery, but she refused to let her tears fall. Perhaps this time trying to be strong for her sister.

"Σας αγαπώ."
(I love you.)

As much as she tried, a single tear managed to escape and fall down her cheek. Turning away from Haleigh, she looked back to Ororo and stepped forward. Now standing next to Persephone, both woman were at equal height, built, and with similar features. It was no doubt Ava was Persephone's crosstime alter. Looking to Ororo, Ava said nothing. She just awaited the ending of her life...with her eyes wide open.

the passage of time and space

<< there was resolution for more than one issue here...even as Alycia's goal was achieved and successfully redirected thanks to the efforts of the Six; the menace of Erika was FINALLY ended by Ororo and the TRUTH about Cameron's death revealed. Malice had a hand in it...but the ultimate act of betrayal and murder came from ERIKA herself. Despite that damaging revelation, Ororo revealed Cameron's soul and spirit to Alison, allowing the siblings to make their peace and bid each other farewell as he went on to finally rest. it was a relief for more than one member of the Six...as they had all been effected by his death.>>

<< As Ororo addressed Ava and Persephone, encouraging them about this next step they would take. the two women came forward in their own ways. Ava realizes what she must do and says her goodbyes to Haleigh as everyone looked on. and now, standing before the doorway to the mysterious cosmic gem, the seige perilous, the two women look into the cosmic gateway with unwavering stares.>>

<<Guardian offers a final word of reassurance and Ororo gently ushers them forward, assuring them that they are doing the right thing.>>

<< the two women pass through the gem TOGETHER as their bodies are enveloped by white light. the rays of light beam forward from the doorway, spinning around as thunder and wind can be heard. what is happening to the women cannot be seen but AVA is taken away, she will will awaken in another reality, a Greece that is as spendid and regal as it was in stories of antiquity. she will live the life of a princess. while PERSEPHONE finds herself bathed in warm golden light. ALL her memories flow around her in movie form...and she remembers. but more importantly she FEELS. as the more recent memories of her time in this reality come forward...she feels something she hasnt felt before...an emotional connection as the emotions and feelings of AVA are now integrated into her. Ava is granted the life of luxury that Persephone once enjoyed and Persephone is now granted an emotional connection and IDENTITY in this reality...a reason for BEING here and WANTING to remain!>>

<< a wave of light flows from the gem as the doorway returns to its "cosmic" view and Persephone is able to slowly return from the gem, wearing an outfit similar to what Ava was wearing...there's a different look in her eye, she feels different and looks on everything before her in a way she hadnt before. Ava was gone, and Persephone was FOREVER changed.>>

<< Ororo welcomes Persephone back, taking her hand as the goddess re-emerges from the seige perilous.>>

Ororo: It is done. Ava is now living the life she always dreamed of. the life of those her father often praised. She has no memory of this life time and will go on to enjoy herself as she deserved. and now, Persephone has an identity. She IS Ava in this reality...having received the emotions and the feeling...that part of Ava's soul that gave her the passion to balance out the cold exterior. you are now fully integrated into this reality...able to have the second chance at a full life that Darkchilde wanted you to have.

Embrace this new state of mind...this place and make it your own. You have friends :: gesturing to the Six:: and family :: to haleigh:: to help you along the way.

:: looking at everyone.::

It is time for me to leave. My involvement here is done. You must now return to America with Stavros and finish out the rest of this. Bright lady watch over and protect all of you.

:: Ororo waves goodbye as she disappears in a column of spinning wind and dead leaves and as she leaves...all the mortal men around them are released from their stasis. the seige perilous returns to its normal state and is now back in Alison's gloved hand.::

Haleigh is shocked by the revelation that the TWINS are Cameron's psyche split in two... she feels a little confused by it... but is comforted in seeing his essence visit with Alison before ascending to the afterlife. At least HE will see peace.... for Haleigh, however, this moment is bittersweet... as her sister is about to leave. She turns back to Ava.

"So do i..." Haleigh whispers, in response to her sisters wish that things could be different. They embrace one last time, and Ava pulls away to face Ororo and the SP. Haleigh turns her back to the proceedings, unable to watch. She kicks a basketball sized rock with such fierce vehemence that it SOARS out of sight.

GREAT.... My sister's identity, her MEMORY is going to be taken over by a woman with as much warmth and compassion as a PARKING METER in JANUARY.

Haleigh keeps her back turned to the group, trying to rein in her emotions. Ororo says a farewell and leaves, and haleigh is silently standoffish as she waits for Spellbinder to take them back Stateside.

Vivica's breath was taken away by the sight of Ava and Persephone switching forms with the Seige Perilous. It was rather compelling but she wondered what Haleigh was feeling at the moment. She was losing her sister but not really losing her sister and now Persephone was human. That had to be quite the change. Things were about to be stirred up in ways like never before. Vivica spoke softly at the event, somewhat yawning.

"You guys... must not sleep alot..."

She was trying to lighten the tone of the entire situation. Some extremel heavy stuff had happened to them and now everything was becoming somewhat returned to normalcy. She wanted nothing more than to go home. She was dead on her feet. She had been a field agent for the CIA for years and this mission was kicking the shit out of her, and she had been shot. A blow she had never suffered in the field. She gave the Six credit where credit was due and felt a little reassured that what Cameron was doing was good work after all.

"I don't know about you, but I am going to miss that Sydney.. she was so much like her dad it creeped me out..."

Nicolas stood transfixed by what he was seeing. He took in Oror, watching her almost more thanthe events that she was responsible for. He could not read her mind but he wastrying to get any clue from her what she was feeling. From watching her face, he got a sense of grim determination at what must be done, anger at Erika, and guilt at not cutting her short beofr Cameron was harmed. he was absolutley overtaken with curiosity at how she would cope with such a thing, being an immortal goddess and all.

As Erika was being destroyed by the lightning, he watched as the luminescence nearly burned into his retina the sight of her molecules being dispersed. He revelled a bit in having someone so wicked be done away with. Her revelation that SHE had in fact killed Cameron actually mad eit easier for him to watch her death, as she was even more despicable than he had realized. He could actually understand her trying to kill him, but to attack your own flesh and blood? To Nicolas she was less than nothing and he was glad that Alison was rid of her.

The revelation that the twins WERE Cameron was surprising to him, but not as shocking as one would think. As he soaked in the news, it made their actions and reactions to Cameron's death make that much more sense.
As Oroo addressed them and they prepared to leave, he was gratified that they were able to get through this pretty much unscathed, at least phsically. Well, as long as a $5000 suit doesn't count. He smirked as he stood beside Morgan in his birthday suit. He would of course dress himself once they got back. Besides, it was no one's business YET that he could have covered himself at any time. Nicolas chuckled softly and watched as Ororo departed. He turned to Morgan.

"Are you ready to go back? You missed going to the islands you wanted to see, and I needed to ask you something related to that in any case. Well, either way, we can return any time, huh?"

Nicolas waited for Spellbinder to transport the team home...

:: As both herself and Ava walked 'into' the Seige Perilous, memories from her past and present played like a movie in front of her. What were mere seconds to everyone else seemed like hours to Persephone. An overwhelming feeling of warmth washed over her body as both herself and Ava were intergrated. She could feel Ava's memories, her passion, her strength. But she still felt like herself. She still had her memories of her own timeline. She still had her memories of entering this one. It just seemed as though she was 'whole' now. That she actually belonged in this timeline instead of just an outsider assisting her best friend's crosstime alter. ::

:: Stepping out of the SP, Persephone now wore Ava's clothing. Low slung black leather pants, black spike healed boots, and a black three quarter length v-neck top. Allowing her amethyst eyes to glance around, Persephone felt somewhat odd...like she had woken from a coma ready to get back to her 'life'. She was Ava now. ::

:: Seeing Haleigh's back turned, Persephone knew the pain she felt. She felt it too...the pain Ava had before entering the Seige Perilous. Deciding not to go to Haleigh, she knew the woman needed time to adjust to this. Hell, she needed time as well. ::

and back to the states

<< and so, even as another issue is resolved, the uncertainty of the future adjustments lay ahead. with things being wrapped up by embassy officials, Spellbinder teleports the six back to NYC, back to Illustra. Everyone is able to return to their individual luxury apartments located on various residential floors. there is no physical trace of "the twins" anymore and Karen and Zach have since returned to Illustra as well.>>

<< several days past as members of the team, rest, recover and adjust to the changes...the delicate situation between Haleigh and Persephone who is now "Ava" in this reality has only BEGUN to be addressed. meanwhile, the high profile case of Stavros Cassadine is playing out over the media in yet another high profile blow against mystech as well as FLUSHING OUT the federal officials on capitol hill who were complicit to the evil of MysTech.>>

<< for all the damage that Alycia has done to MysTech, she will finally be rewarded for her efforts in a way that no one would expect but not before she has one last scare in her campaign of revenge for Sharon Kelly.>>
