Haleigh eyed him for a moment... he was sincere, that, she didnt doubt.... but she hadn't expected him to be so forthcoming.... not after EVERYTHING they saidlast night... there was no skulking time... wow... guys do things weird... its like a whole nother species. But he was serious and straight forward and didn't try to charm her.... so she made a choice to give something a try... CHANGE.


"Well.... I wasn't exactly innocent either. [soft laugh] Listen... I'm making breakfast... its almost done... why don't you come in? I feel like weve gotten off to a terribly bad start... its been one thing after another... why dont we... start over. Hi. I'm Haleigh."

She offered, with a humorous smile, opening the door for him to enter. She was remarkably different from last night... as if the rising of the sun had erased everything from the night before... all the anger and iritation was gone... or at least.... under the surface.
 
Haleigh's Apartment

As Haleigh spoke, Nicolas almost braced for the worstbut, he was pleasantly surprised. She took some blame for last night and asked him in!!!!He stood for a moment then entered, nodding to Zach as he stepped inside. He smiled at Haleigh as he answered her greeting.

"Hello, my name is Nicolas. It is a pleasure to meet you. I hope that this try will be much better. At least we now have a blueprint on how to deal with each other and maybe...we can be friends one day soon."

Nicolas was glad that this seemed to be going so well. He had decided that the team was worth more effort on his part. This was only the first step for him.
 
105th Floor: Davidoff Residence

"Maybe.... I'm sorry things got so bad... I haven't been on my game lately... one thing after another, you know."

She responded with a smile. Haleigh led him into the kitchen, that smelled of bacon and chocolate chip pancakes... Zach poured himself a fresh cup of coffee, rubbing his eye with the back of his hand sleepily. He groaned a hello and lazily scratched the top of his head, which did nothing for the disasterous state of his bedhead hair. He sat down at the table after grabbing a plate from the counter.

"Nuh uh! Go put a shirt on."

Haleigh reprimanded, and Zach raised an eyebrow at Nicolas before giving a crooked smirk and getting up to obey. Haleigh got out a third plate for Nicolas. Zach returned to the kitchen with a tshirt in addition to his sleepwear pants. He approached Haleigh from behind as she stood over the stove and hugged her, giving her a kiss on the cheek before returning to the table. It was a surprisingly domesticated moment... a side of Haleigh that NONE of the six had ever seen... let alone Nicolas.

"Hey... Nicolas? How do you like your eggs?"

Haleigh's Apartment

Nicolas smirked at the private moment he witnessed between Zach and Haleigh. He looked away a moment as Zach came up behind her, then playfully watched their kiss and hug from behind. He answered Haleigh's qusetion.

"Fried hard, please."

As he telepathically sent her a quick comment.

"Do your thing girl!! At least SOMEBODY around here is getting lucky!"

Nicolas looked back at Zach and thought a moment, then spoke.

"So Zach, you manage quite well as a mate for one of the Six. How do you DO it? I had more than enough trouble dating BEFORE I met supermodel-beautiful Omega-level metahumans. Share your wisdom."

Nicolas sat and waited intently for Zach's answer. He had truly always wanted to ask him this question, he simply hadn't the time before.
 
105th Floor: Davidoff Residence

Haleigh smiled softly while receiving Zach's affections, but kept her attention on Nicolas' eggs. She smirked as she heard Nicolas' voice in her head. It was surprisingly easy to get along with him if they weren't attacking each other... maybe she'd been too distracted with worrying that he might replace Cameron [a ridiculous notion, but an underlying paranoia all the same] to see it before.... or she only saw in him what she WANTED to see. Aw.... is Morgan frustrating you? Give her time... she likes you... I can tell. She thought, knowing he would hear. Zach, now sitting at the table, smirked and answered his question after taking a sip of coffee from his steaming mug.

"Elementary, my dear Nicolas..." He began, as Haleigh brought over Nic's plate and her own. "Women are easy... you show them a few stunts they haven't seen between the sheets, tell them they're the prettiest thing you've ever seen and you've got them eating out of the palm of your hand." He said, in the most serious tone. Haleigh chuckled, rolled her eyes and slapped Zach on the back of the head playfully. She sat down next to him at the round breakfast table and began to pour syrup on her pancakes.

"Zach, how about a real answer before I show YOU a few stunts you haven't seen?"

He smiled and began eating, taking a few bites as he mulled over his answer. "Well, Truthfully... you have to find the right woman.... and then.... you have to love her with everything you have... and most importantly... with women as beautiful as these... you have to realize that EVERY man wants to charm them... but YOU have to trust them... and you have to keep in mind that THEY will NEVER be yours... but if you are lucky... YOU will be theirs. Does that make any sense?"

Haleigh stared at him... pausing for a moment before reaching over to take his hand in hers and smile. "Aw, sweetie... see... I knew I could train you right." She jokes, winking at Nicolas.
 
Haleigh's Apartment

Nicolas laughed softly at Haleigh's thought reply to him. He cold tell Morgan felt something too, he simply wanted to make sure what exactly it was. But her comment was reassuring to him as he listened to Zach, laughing at his joke. But as he spoke more thoughtfully, Nicolas listened more deeply as he ate, taking in what Zach had to say.

"Thanks for your wisdom, man. However, it appears that as you have worked toward making YOU hers, you have also accomplished the reciprocal. I admire that in you two."

Nicolas tore into his food, eating it efficiently but with flawless etiquette.

"MMMMNNNN!! Pretty AND can cook? You hit the jackpot, Zachary."

Nicolas winked at the couple as he ate the rest of his food....

This is an excellent opportunity on many levels, Ava.

Alison and I had been talking about doing a spread for "Professional Women" in NYC. A pictoral featuring some of NYC's most powerfull business women looking sleek and cutting edge in Illustra's fashion.

this merger would push Illustra's stock through the ROOF and make us very rich and I could feature you as one of the women in the pictoral, if you were interested.

with the technology and weaponry available through cassadine enterprises, Haleigh could revamp the security defenses of Illustra..and..if you dont mind...i would like to outfit my mother's home as well with defensive capabilities as well. there are enemies out there that are immune or highly resistant to magick...i have no problem with technology to bolster our protection.

yes, this would be very profitable for us...in a variety of ways. You'll become associated with the Illustra Inc entourage which is a major PR boost and Illustra will gain the unspoken edge against any would be attackers with our technological boost.

but there is one thing...while i'm sitting here. We havent had a secure MEDIA outlet since the betrayal and departure of the person you replaced on this team. her name was Alexis Quartermaine...she was the CEO of Tempo Magazine and Illustra enjoyed a long standing media partnership with them....until my "death"...upon which time she apparently betrayed the team. I have YET to find a replacement for that....

:: Alison saw Delilah arrive and called out from the inner office::

:: the receptionist smiled and gestured for Delilah to go on back.::

:: once inside, Alison leaned back in her large executive swivel chair. and gestured to the bar on the other side of the office.::

there's any and everything you could want in the way of drinks and light refreshments. after that, please have a seat.

:: as Delilah chose whatever she wanted for herself and came to sit opposite Alison at the large wrap around desk, the conversation began.::

Firstly, Alycia wanted me to tell you goodbye and to thank you again for being so kind in "taking care" of her. I know that she was your lawyer when you were going through your troubles a while back...and you've both seen each other in ways that went far beyond the "lawyer/client" relationship. She was very appreciative of all the help you and Nicolas gave her. She's on her way to washington now....she'll arrive safely and embark on her destiny and ultimately that will ensure that WE get to carry on.

I asked you here today, because I wanted to talk to you about a possible career with Illustra Inc. I wanted to get your honest idea on what you'd like to do in this world of fashion and glamor as well as share some ideas I had for you. You're under NO obligation to go this route if you don't feel its for you...but I talked it over with Morgan and OBVIOUSLY there's always a place for you here...we'll MAKE one. :: Alison smiled:: We'd also like to offer you the chance to INVEST in Illustra, to share in our success.

Don't tell anyone, but we're going to offer Nicolas a modeling contract to become Illustra's first MALE signature super model! we figure that it's time to bring the attention BACK to our fashion house and what better way to do it with a face as beautifull as Morgan's but one that will bring in a whole new demographic.

Young men..black men will see him and his style and want to imitate it...and of course women will flock to buy our magazines and see him where ever he goes.

things are happening both on the fashion front as well as Illustra's private front. Morgan is in meetings with Ava right now to discuss another lucrataive partnership with all the changes we have laid out, we felt that you should be apart of this....if you want to.

handsome and thoughtfull indeed. Morgan, GIRL you are TRULY fortunate to have finally found a man like this.

It would appear that our Nicolas is feeling better.

which probably means Karen has paid Haleigh a visit by now as well.

Haleigh smiled softly in response to the guys talking. Nicolas admited to admiring what Haleigh and Zach shared and haleigh knew what was beneath it.

"You can have that TOO, Nicolas.... the most important thing is to earn her trust.... everything else... [a cascading gesture] will follow."

She finishes eating and takes a few moments to sip her tea, mulling things over in reticence. This particular event had gone even better than could have been planned... and lifts a great deal of pressure from everyone's shoulders. More than anything, Haleigh is surprised at how easy it was to come to this compromise... a lot less painful than she anticipated, and helped, in great part, by a very forgiving Nicolas.

"Nicolas.... I'm glad we could work this out.... and I want to thank you for not being the type to hold a grudge. I know I've done some questionable things lately... and since you haven't been with us long enough to know how complicated some of my decisions are... I can't really blame you for reacting to me the way you have. I just want to put you at ease... and assure you of the one thing that the others know about me that has kept THEM from giving up on me. I may do some unethical things and some unexplainable things... but time and time again, without a moments hesitation, i have laid my life on the line for the Six, as we ALL have. Its brought us all together in a way that NO ONE could have predicted... not even our resident Seer. You'll see it soon too... I just hope you can find the confidence in me that they have."
 
Morgan's office

:: Pleased that Morgan was pleased with her offer, Ava smiled while taking a sip of her coffee. Lowering the cup from her mouth, the goddess nodded as she placed the empty mug on Morgan's desk. ::

"I'm glad you approve."

:: As Morgan began to speak about Tempo Magazine and Alexis Quartermaine, Ava sat back in a more relaxed fashion than she was previously sitting in. ::

"We could always buy out Tempo. With the right price, anything can be bought these days."

:: Throwing ideas out on the table, Morgan and Ava's conversation was cut short once Morgan's receptionist brought in a beautiful arrangement of roses. Letting a small smile creep on her lips, she watched Morgan's facial expression, seeing the pleasure these flowers and note gave her. Staying quiet, it was not her place to ask whom they were from, nor her buisness. Seeing Morgan blush, she let out a small laugh waving away her apology. ::

"It's fine. They're beautiful."

:: Leaning forward, she brushed her finger tips along the stem before sitting back once more. Raising her brows at Morgan's announcement that Nicolas had asked her on a date, she simply smiled, noting Morgan's attempts to be friendly toward her in a non-buisness manner. ::

"He seems like a gentleman. A little too gentle for my liking if you catch my drift."

:: Letting out a laugh, Persephone was only half joking about her comment. ::

"With everything that has happened the past couple of weeks, having a handsome man on your mind isn't the worst thing in the world. I'm sure you two will have a brilliant time together on your date."

hmm yes, but his LOOKS alone suggest a wealth of youth, vitality and power.

I have never been too fond of men....since my father. I could barely tolerate being in the presence of one long enough without feeling the need to rend him limb from limb. Nicolas, so far, has caused me to WONDER...could i actually enjoy the company of a man? could a man actually have good intentions and NOT be a deranged, psychotic asshole?

he's beautifull to the eye, he's not without his own financial resources and certainly wouldnt need to depend on me or Illustra in anyway. He has the shining endorsement from my mother AND Ororo and that alone is a rare thing.

as for Tempo, you make an excellent point. We COULD buy them out, but I would need someone to handle that aspect...the day to day operations...

I'll have my lawyers draw up a contract spelling out the details of the partnership between Illustra Inc and Cassadine Enterprises, it will include the specifications we've discussed. Your team can go over the contract and if its to your satisfaction, then we'll both sign! I'll have Alison contact our "media" team to "spread the word" just enough to generate a buzz both in the fashion AND business world. by the time the partnership is fully announced, we'll all be flying high from the boost in stocks.

<< standing up, Morgan smiled and extended her hand to shake Ava's. this was merely a formality but it was also a personal sign of friendship between Morgan and Ava.>>

[ Delilah smiled at the receptionist and said thank you as she motioned for her to go into Alison's office. She helped herself to a diet soda and sat down across from Alison. She smiled and nodded as she told her the news about Alycia. But Delilah knew this was not why her friend had called her there today, but she couldn't for the life of her think what it could be.

She was shocked to hear Guardian's offer to invest in Illustra. Her hand went to her chest with her surprise. ]

"Why, Alison, I'm truly flattered by your offer - both of a job and to become an investor. You don't know how much it means to me to have you trust in me that way. You know I'll help out here at Illustra any way I can. And Nicolas as a model - well he certainly has an effect on the members of the Six. I'm sure the rest of the world won't be able to resist him."

[ Roses from Nicolas arrived for her as well. She read the note, lips pursed. Hmm. Taking the easy way out again - why not just cc us all in an email? He needs to learn not everything can be solved with flowers and a photocopied note. She gave Alison a less than enthusiastic "yes" in response to her statement about Nicolas. She looked up at Alison and moved on to another subject. ]

"I truly hope Karen can help Haleigh - she and I don't always get along, but something is really wrong with her this time. I'm afraid for her. Hopefully she'll LET the doctor help her."
 
Haleigh's Apartment

Nicolas listened to Haleigh as she apologized and spoke about the team. He thought for a moment then replied.

"I have no doubt in your abilities or even your conviction. That is one of the main reasons why I am here. My sincere hope is that you will find the faith in me to truly let me in. It is the same faith that keeps your mind free of my probes. I simply want to know you and connect with you in a way that makes checking unnecessary. I have found out more about you in that last hour than since I have been here, and I am heartened by what I see. I hope that our future is marked by closeness. I have no family. You guys are all that I have."

Nicolas stood up and straightened his suit, clearing his throat as he did so.

"Thank you, thanks to you BOTH for your hospitality. I have a LOT to do, to think about today, so I must take my leave."

Nicolas nods to them both, smiles, then heads for the door...
 
and the day goes on

<< Alison already knows that Karen has given Haleigh a much needed epiphany and so she reassures Delilah that situation is under control. She CAN however understand Delilah's slight irritation with Nicolas' tendency to try to charm the women of the six as if they are testy shrews. She "sees" a future between Morgan and Nicolas...and she knows the man only means well, but he still has to come a bit further with dealing with these other modern, strong, powerfull women of The Six.>>




<< time passes. as Nicolas leaves Haleigh's luxury apartment, he knows he must meet with Morgan and Alison and that a surprise awaits. Delilah has been presented with the opportunity to invest in Illustra and will be even FURTHER surprised when Morgan approaches her about the new position that is being created with the certain aquisition of Tempo Magazine AND of course the partnership between Morgan and Ava was being solidified as contracts were drawn up and prepared for signing by both women. All of this PLUS a photo shoot coming up in several hours..>>

<< Meanwhile, Haleigh has more than a few things of her own to attend to, as she recently became aware of a possible rumour that Morgan was "shopping" for a new photography studio to replace "Liquid Crystal Images". Was it true? it didnt seem LIKELY that Morgan would do this behind Haleigh's back but it was all the more reason for Haleigh to finally speak to Morgan AND Alison, whom she had been rather difficult with the last time they interacted. Haleigh knew and understood the value of networking, communication and mutually beneficial partnerships and the revenue that Liquid Crystal generated from its contract with Illustra was NOT one that should be foolishly thrown away. She ALSO had to attend to the matter of Ethan, who was still "out there." She now knew he was ALIVE at least, but as for what happened to him while he was in the presence of Morgan, Alison, Ava and Delilah...she hadnt found those details out yet.>>

<< if she REALLY wanted to make good on her promise to "be there" for him, she had to begin sooner than later for Ethan was now out there...ALONE and certainly without the backing of Mystech...in fact NOW he was more vulnerable than ever.>>

105th Floor: Davidoff Residence

Haleigh bid Nicolas a good day and she and Zach went about cleaning up the breakfast area, wiping and washing and moving about the space fluidly as though they were in a choreographed dance. When they were finished, they shared a kiss and discussed their plans.

Z:"I'm gonna go work out a while... want to join me?"

H:"No.... I've got some things that need attention... its almost noon... I'm supposed to meet with Ethan at sundown.... but in the meant time... I think I should go see Morgan."

They kissed goodbye and Haleigh went to get dressed, freshening up and gathering her thoughts before taking the elevator down to Morgan's office, and announcing herself to the secretary. She knew Persephone was in with Morgan now... and Haleigh had to talk with both of them... but she wondered if it would be best to address them each alone.
 
Haleigh's Apartment to Alison's Office

Nicolas exited the apartment and stood in front of the eleveator. He was thinking of where to go next and the thought hit him. Delilah. He needed to speak to her, but he knew by his TK that she was in conference with Alison. He decided that he would wait outside Alison's office for her, speak with her once she and Alison had finished their chat.

Nicolas went down to Alison's office on the 98th floor. He alerted the secretary that he was waiting for Ms. Trelaven. He waited patiently for Delilah to exit the office.

:: as they concluded their meeting, it was apparent that Delilah was more than happy to take the investment offer made by Alison. They would discuss the finer details later, when they had their formal board meeting with Morgan but for now, Alison had to move on to her next appointment, Nicolas. He had just arrived into the lobby and her secretary had informed her he was there.::

I'm glad you're happy with this offer Delilah. You're more than just a friend or a team mate..you're FAMILY to Morgan and myself and so its only fair that since you've risked your life for us as well as this building more than once that you should SHARE in Illustra's success.

We'll be having a formal conference with Morgan later where all the details will be ironed out. There's a photo shoot today that Morgan, Ava, you and myself will have to be apart of...its all about a spread on "professional women in new york city" and since you're still a cop right now...we wanted to feature you as our NYPD model.

:: looking out toward the doorway, She knew Delilah might express misgivings about participating in a fashion photo shoot. Delilah was a beautifull woman but she had always preferred to leave the modeling/fashion world to Morgan or so it seemed.::

Don't worry, all will be explained later on. For now, I must take my 2:00 appt with Nicolas. Thank you for coming down, Delilah.

:: standing up with Delilah, Alison walks with her to the doorway and out into the lobby where she sees Nicolas.::

I know you want a quick word with Delilah, Nicolas. So i'll leave you two alone for the moment. come into my office when you're done. I have some things to discuss with you.

:: Alison's tone was cool, clear and precise as she turned on her 4 inch high heel and walked back into her office.::

<< as Morgan and Ava concluded this meeting. Morgan informed her that there would be a formal conference that would include herself, ava, alison, delilah, nicolas and haleigh. formalities and announcements as well as any further explanations would be handled there. she also invited ava to prepare her own announcements or details to add to the meeting.>>

<< Morgan's secretary beeped in on her counsel.>>

Receptionist: Ms. Victoria? Ms. Davidoff is here to see you.

<< Morgan presses a button>> thank you very much. I'll come and recieve her myself.

<< shutting the channel, Morgan looks at Ava.>>

No doubt Haleigh has probably gotten wind of the rumours that i was looking to negate Illustra's contract with Liquid Crystal Images and replace HER. Its funny...normally these rumours I dismiss but in light of the PERSONAL problems we've been having with Haleigh..these rumours in the business world have kind of served as MOTIVATION for her to come around and actually address me.

<< standing up>>

I'm going to get her now. I don't know what she has to say or how things will go...if you want to leave now I understand. We'll be seeing each other later on today again in the formal conference room.

<< walking toward the double doors of her office, she opens them and finds Haleigh sitting out in the large lobby area.>>

Haleigh, do come in.

Alison's Lobby

Nicolas rises fom his seat amiling as he sees the women exit the office. Just as he is about to ask Delilah for a word, Alison gives them a moment.

One thing about being around a Seer. She knows already what you want before you ask. Gotta suck to date her. She already knows before you make your move, no possible surprise gifts...But there could be positives as well I guess

Nicolas thinks as he watched Alison elegantly stroll back into her office. He turns to Delilah and his demeanor becomes more serious. He looks her into the eyes as he speaks evenly.

"Delilah, I know that you received my apology note this morning, but I wanted to speak to you PERSONALLY. I owe you an apology for last night in my suite. It was inappropriate to make such a lewd overture to you when we were all sitting around after dinner. I was flirting so hard that I did not show you the proper respect as Morgan's friend and as your own person. Honestly, I was a young man having far too much fun in the company of three beautiful women and in doing so, I forgot my manners and alienated one of them in a situation where I should have been both more discerning and more in control. I know that apologies are not good enough for you on their face, and I will show you in the future that I am not simply a pretty-boy player wanna-be. Hopefully, you will accept my apology and allow me the time to atone."

Ncilas waited quietly for Delilah's response. he understood that she could still lethim have it, but he had decided that now was the time to lay his cards on the table to each member of the Six, to show his true self and try to make up for wrongdoings big and small.
 
Lobby to Morgan's office

Haleigh looks up from gazing at a magazine as Morgan opens her door and invites the cyberpath hybrid in. Haleigh smiles slightly, looking a good deal more composed than she has in days, in a tailored skirt suit, her blonde hair pulled back into a stylish updo.

"Morgan.... Good Morning." She said, as she followed the CEO into her office and noted Persephone was still there as well. She clears her throat softly. "Ava." She says gently, looking from one woman to the other, a pregnant pause clouding the entire room. It is the first time Haleigh has called Perse by her sister's name.... and it seems to hit her as it weighs down on them all. Morgan, to haleigh's relief, poses a question and breaks the silence. Haleigh responds in an apologetic tone.

"Yes.... the photoshoot.... I... had heard something... and while I don't usually take stock in heresay... after what has been happening recently.... I wouldn't much be shocked if it was true. A little affronted... but not shocked. This isn't going to be our last project together, is it? I know I have a lot to answer for... but give me some time... I'm working on it."

Pausing, giving Perse a smile as she settled into the chair next to her, taking note of the roses and knowing immediately who they were from. Flowers were becoming a bit of a calling card for Nicolas. She looked back to Morgan.

"Your mother came to see me.... you were right... it was just what I needed. Not exactly what I was expecting... but exactly what I needed.... in fact... Nicolas and I.... had breakfast this morning... we've made nice."
