Melrose Place

The dick went and made a drink! If she had been wearing earrings, she would have taken them off.

Nicolas said:
She is beautiful, Dee. Absolutely beautiful. And she NEEDS her Mommy. Don't you agree?

“You are an asshole.”

How DARE he! She balled her fists, wanting more than anything to punch him in the face. Of course, as a fucking telepath he would know that and be looking for it.

Nicolas said:
I am certain that there is enough DNA on my door from your banging or these tatters of paper to get your DNA mapped - though that work will delay things - and I can easily get Alexia's sequence from the cord blood. I will continue my work and send you EMAILS of any progress. Hopefully I will find a solution in due course. In the meantime, if you need to throw things or just want to stare at me in abject hatred, my door is always open.

“Yeah you never could respect the privacy of my MIND, why should I expect you to respect my DNA?”

She turned on her heel and stomped towards her apartment.

Nicolas said:
Where are my manners? Would you like a drink Delilah?

She didn’t turn back as she called behind her.

“Oh fuck YOU.”

Melrose Place - Apt. 4

:: Cass startled a bit when the door BANGED open and a crazy person that looked eerily like CAMERON bounded out the door with his arms out at either side. ::

*startled*: “Oh my gosh!!”

Cameron said:
"Oh she's IN here alright! And so is the Park Avenue Playboy and the Asstastic Amazon! Get in here!"

:: Cass had a bewildered look on her face as she was pulled inside the apartment. ::

What the hell?

:: She would’ve thought he would’ve let go of her hand now that she was safely inside but no. He led her all around the room. Maybe he was drunk. Or high. Or, in Cass’ opinion, maybe he was both? ::

Cameron said:
"Ladies and Gentlemen, check out the hot merchandise! Blaze dear, I know this is a stupid question, but do you have any more alcohol to off our new arrivals?"

“Oh, no thank you. I have to be at work in a few hours…”

:: This was very strange indeed. Cass had NO IDEA what to think. It was like she stepped into some bizarro world or something. At least he finally let go of her hand. ::

VERY peculiar…

Cameron said:
"Blaze tried to get me drunk and seduce me...AGAIN! I tell ya!"

:: Okay, so now THIS was more like it. A wicked glint appeared in her eyes. ::

*incredulously*: “Are you SURE you only had alcohol?”

:: She had a teasing grin on her face. She turned to Blaze. ::

*joking* “Blaze, what did you put in HIS drink?”

:: She sat in a chair on one side of the couch. She crossed her legs and immediately the white furball staked her claim on Cass’ lap. She looked at Alycia with a grateful expression. ::

“Alycia, I don’t think I can ever repay you for everything you said to me last night. Thank you SO much.”

:: Though Cass would never say it to her face, for fear of sounding melodramatic, she was pretty sure Alycia had saved her life and future last night and for that, she would always hold Alycia in the highest regard. She had been in a very dark place when she talked with her, but now she was slowly coming out of it. ::

She didn’t turn back as she called behind her.

“Oh fuck YOU.”

How rude! You haven't even taken me to dinner Delilah! I have STANDARDS dammit!!

That went well. Shaking his head, Nicolas refreshed his screwdriver and wondered what to do next.

Cameron said:"So...got a surprise visit from Tinkerbell...she kind of told me to have YOU bring her back to Limbo...So get on it boy! We got shit to DO tonight!"

There. That was it. Nicolas closed the door after taking some preserved swabs and teleporting them to his private lab for DNA processing. He then bounded up the steps to Morgan's Apartment, entering without knocking.

It was a typical scene. Cam was tipsy but good. The ladies looked like a million bucks with some EtOH coming off of Blaze as well. He passed out kisses and hugs and gave Cam a bro-hug, then scooped up Tinkerbell.

Hey baby! You look so good! Who is the baby? YOU are!! Hey guys...gimme a few minutes.

Nicolas caressed and hugged up the cat as he walked to Morgan's bedroom. Concentrating, he snuggled up to the cat...

Lead me back Tink. Lead me back.

Opening a portal to the Astral Plane, Nicolas stepped and allowed Tink to 'lead' him....

...right to the perfect spot in Limbo. This time they were right outside the Chamber of Dreams.

Damn that was easy with the cat. By himself he almost became a third wheel in a Circe-Set match. He knew that she knew he was here so he walked in with Tink and...gasped.

Morgan was more beautiful than EVER. Hair longer. Face softer with rest. Nicolas let the now-fussy Tinkerbell down as he stood, just looking at her. Finally, he cracked a smile.

You rang my dear?

Minerva's -- Aviary

Sharon: Greetings, Black Widow. Your return couldn't have been more well timed.

Only the slightest hint of surprise passed over Haleigh's expression. Here was the woman who had essentially broken up Haleigh's engagement, and tried to fight her almost to the death on more than one occasion, but Sharon sounded...... almost HAPPY to see Haleigh. It was an unexpectedly pleasant reception.

"Thanks...... but I'm starting to think that I never should have taken that 'sabbatical' to pursue my work..... it seems I should have been here all along. And I missed the birth of Delilah's baby.... and the disaster that resulted. Would you walk with me?"

She asked, then started back towards the infirmary, pede-conferencing with Sharon as they went.

"Alison tells me you have samples of the bab-- of Alexia's bloodwork. I plan on having some research done with both her and Delilah's genetic material.... I'm searching for a solution to our predicament."

This wasn't so bad. Haleigh focused on being professional and compartmentalized their violent past. She got a calmer vibe from Sharon as well. Maybe the time apart had been needed in this case. If they could work together on this, it might be the start of an improved relationship for them. Haleigh's opinion of Sharon was further boosted by the fact that Sharon had been there for Delilah.

"I'm not sure how you feel about Delilah right now... I understand she reacted harshly to the measures taken to save her life..... but I'd like to thank you for being her midwife. I realize it must have put you in a very tough position. I'm sure she's grateful for everything you did for her, even if she can't express that right now. She's having a hard time being away from her daughter."

Melrose- Apt 4

:: After settling on a meeting time with Delilah, Alycia headed to Apartmenet 4.::

:: Once inside, Alycia had enjoyed a long, side-to-side, rocking embrace with Blaze. The fire elemental was happy to see her and vice versa. But Alycia couldn't help but notice Blaze was a little...inebriated::

My, my Blaze. You certainly don't waste anytime!

:: Alycia said with a smirk as Blaze stumbled a bit on her way back to the couch. The sat down together.::

I certainly hope there's some champagne left for ME?

:: Alycia lifted an eyebrow as searched Blaze's facial expression for an answer. Only moments later did Cameron appear, lumbering down the hallway with TINKERBELL in his arms.::

Cameron, dear, if you drop Tinkerbell, I think you'll have bigger problems to worry about than you could imagine.

:: She said with a playfull but still serious warning as she stood up to remove Tinkerbell from his arms and place her on Blaze's lap. Tinkerbell shook her head as she meowed and Cameron immediately invited himself into Alycia's personal space, wrapping his arms around her just as she turned back to face him::

OH!

Cameron said:
Cameron walked over to Alycia and embraced her in a nice long and warm hug, whispering in her ear.

"Forgive me my trespasses, darling...I think we might have drank all the champagne...Still, GREAT to see you!"

He gave her a warm kiss on the cheek as he heard the door knock.

Forgive your tresspass INDEED, you lushes! Havent you heard of the sin of gluttony?

:: She said with a mocking tone as she pushed Cameron away, smiling rather knowingly::

...and you know, when people sin, they have to be PUNISHED! Just consider yourself WARNED for later on!

:: She sent that thought call without hestitation as Cameron went to answer the door, hearing Cass' voice on the other side::

:: Alycia looked upon Cass. The girl looked refreshed, brighter and seemed to be ready for meaningful interaction. Alycia wasn't so certain though. She followed Cass with her hazel eyes for a moment as the pisonic vamp made her way further in. Cameron, clearly picking up on Alycia's incredulous thoughts about Cass, which she wasn't trying to hide, attempted to chide her::

Cameron said:
[turning to Alycia]

"Now, NOW Alycia...don't BITE! Or you won't get ANY dessert later!"

Hmph. YOU'VE got alot of nerve.

:: Alycia retorted with playful defiance, waving her hand dismissively at Cameron as she gave him a once over::

Cameron said:
"Ladies and Gentlemen, check out the hot merchandise! Blaze dear, I know this is a stupid question, but do you have any more alcohol to off our new arrivals?"

[turning to Cass]

"Blaze tried to get me drunk and seduce me...AGAIN! I tell ya!"

Grabbing the plates from the kitchen he quickly began to clean up around the women, washing dishes and plates and such, giving them a little bit of room to chat it up.

Oh PLEASE!

:: Alycia said with a laugh::

I know your mode of operation, King. You showed up on Minerva's Aerie the other day & SYSTEMATICALLY got nearly EVERYONE you could FIND DRUNK!

:: Blaze and Alycia both laugh::

Blaze: "Yeah, I heard about that. Even Alison and Ava loosened up. I bet THAT was a memorable moment. Cameron's got a lot of nerve trying to paint me out as the bad girl!"

:: Thinking back to the witty, if not unusual, banter that Alycia and Ava had engaged in on that island that day...::

Oh I'LL say it was! and Cameron was right there in the middle of it, leading the way.

:: While Blaze went over to Morgan's liquor cabinet to find another bottle of vintage champagne, Alycia immediately began to help as well. They were ALL in Morgan's apartment at this moment and while BLAZE was Morgan's official house guest, clearly her kitchen, her dishes and utensiles had seen more action today than they probably had in the last six months. It would not be a good look if Morgan showed up to find things an absolute mess.::

Cameron, dear, Morgan HAS a dishwasher.

:: Alycia says as she bumps him over a bit with her hip and begins taking dishes from him and out of the sink, loading them into the dishwasher::

I realize you're drunk and all, but there IS a more efficient way to do all of this.

:: She said with a teasing tone as she smiled a bit more, beinding down to load more things in the bottom tray of the dishwasher::

:: She stood back up to see Cass, who by now had sat down and was greeting Morgan's other feline, the small white kitten, who curiously never seemed to AGE! Tinkerbell, was sitting on the spot of the couch where Blaze had sat. She noticeably kept her distance from Cass. Tink was always known to have her favorites and her..."not-so-favorites" when it came to members of the Six. It was AMAZING to see her letting Cameron carry her down the hall, since Tinker had never been terribly fond of HIM. But with time, even animals can change their feelings about humans.::

Cass said:

::Alycia's facial expression toward Cass softened.::

Well Cass, you've already started that "repayment" by showing that you not only heard me, but you LISTENED. That's all I, Karen or Sharon wanted. Now keep going FORWARD, that's all I ask.

:: She smiled and nodded with affirmation to Cass as she continued to help Cameron.::

:: Blaze found another bottle::

Wonderful, now the REST of us can have a nice, celebratory drink before you two lushes devour THIS bottle as well!

:: She said in a loud, purposefully mocking tone as Blaze rolled her eyes and laughed::

Blaze: "Don't be jealous, Alycia. You'll have plenty of time to ply Cameron with alcohol and take advantage him later on I'm sure!"

:: Alycia gasped and blushed a bit as Blaze snickered and then laughed.::

GIRL!?

::But before Alycia could get on Blaze, NICOLAS suddenly showed up. He made the rounds with quick greetings. Alycia accepted a kiss on the cheek from him::

Nicolas, where have you been??

:: But he said he didn't have time to stop now, as he gathered Tinkerbell in his arms. Tinker meowed a bit, she seemed quite pleased to be craddled by Nicolas of all people and almost as quickly as he arrived, he was gone.::

Oh, I see.

:: She said as she continued on::

He must be heading to see Morgan. I hope she's doing better. I'm sure she'll send an update with him when he returns...

and I'm sure THAT won't be until AFTER they spend some..."quality time" together.

:: Alycia laughed softly, in spite of herself, knowing that her own "quality time" with Cameron King would be coming soon enough::

MP - apartment 4

This day was getting better and better!

There was nothing like reeling from a moment of a near self destructive choice to help you realize what you had right in front of you and how grateful you should be!

EVERYTHING, Morgan's apartment, each visitor that came, the heart-to-heart that she and Cameron had before, seeing Tinkerbell, ALL of it felt so fresh, new, SPECIAL. How could she have thought of giving all of this up? How could she have thought completely ERASING her own sense of self was the way to go?

People do crazy things when they're feeling lost, hopeless and desperate. Cameron, Nicolas, Alycia and Cass had been there for her, understanding of her and now, as Alycia and Cass joined her in apartment four, she couldn't help but think about Cameron's passionate words to her about Delilah.

She had her strong doubts and suspicions about Delilah, she even believed Delilah was on the cusp of becoming THIS world's "JUSTICER", but Cameron set her straight on that and she received his words to the heart.

Blaze was never one to shy away from difficult conversations and she wasnt imtimidated by anyone either, but she knew or the time being, Delilah would not be ready to talk to her, but Blaze WOULD seek her out to do what she needed to and clear the air soon enough.

For now though, she continued to revel in the day, letting Cameron lead the way. Alycia and Cass joined her at Morg's apartment. She was happy to see them both and embraced each of them. Sure she was a little drunk, but she was NEVER out of control ;)

Alycia gave Cameron a hard time about them drinking up all the champagne. HE in turn, tried to bust her out as having tried to seduce him!

Her eyebrows lifted with a smirk.

"Oh PUH-LEASE, lightweight!"

"Nobody made you try tro keep up with me drinking all this delicious champagne! And seduce you? Honey, from what I've seen and HEARD about you, the WIND could blow too hard and you're ready to go to bed!"

"I'm sure that by the time Alycia has her way with you, you won't know which way is up."

She gently pets Tinkerbell, who was happily laying on her lap, purring a bit.

"Sorry Tink, auntie Blaze has to find another bottle of bubbly!"

The siamese protests a bit as Blaze sets her down on the couch and goes to search for another bottle in Morg's liquor cabinet while Alycia and Cameron banter back and forth in Morgan's kitchen.

" Will you look at those two, Cass? Hey you two, you're supposed to be cleaning UP, not making a mess with all your hot flirting and DIRTY TALK!"

Snickering as she continues to search and then FINDS a bottle.

"I found the bottle! You two hot boxes wanna finish up in there?"

The fire elemental smiles, teasing the two, as it's obvious their chemistry is crackling while they're in such close proximity to each other.

Blaze pours up four flutes of champagne when Nicolas arrives.

"Hey Nic!"

Her eyebrows lift once more as she eyes him, watching him make the rounds with quick hellos, hugs and kisses before gathering up Tinkerbell and talking to her.

"Mmmhmm."

Knowing Tink could easily return to Limbo on her own, but the siamese definitely responded positively to Nicolas. It was obvious she trusted him and it was cute to see him craddling her, but Blaze knew he must've been on a mission to see MORGAN in Limbo.

"When you come up for AIR, Nicolas, be sure and tell my sister that I miss her?"

"See you later, Dr. Doolittle."

Sticking out her tongue as Nicolas departs. She passes out the flutes and returns to the couch, sitting closer to Cass while Alycia and Cameron sit beside each other. Nicolas was on a mission, but he seemed like he was also in a hurry to distance himself from whatever he'd been doing before he came to Morg's apartment. She wondered what THAT was all about.

"There you are, Alycia. A nice fresh glass of vintage bubbly! Now, you be nice to Cameron. He's been daydreaming about you all day!"

Fanning herself and looking a bit faint as she teases Cameron a bit.

"Ah, Cass. It's SO much fun teasing Cameron. He's almost like my sister! Hit the right buttons, and he blushes brighter than rudolph's nose!"

"Thanks for coming over, by the way."

She said as she takes a long drink from her flute.

Minerva's- down to the infirmary

Haleigh said:
"Thanks...... but I'm starting to think that I never should have taken that 'sabbatical' to pursue my work..... it seems I should have been here all along. And I missed the birth of Delilah's baby.... and the disaster that resulted. Would you walk with me?"

She asked, then started back towards the infirmary, pede-conferencing with Sharon as they went.

Of course.

[ Now that the birds were comfortable and resting, Sharon began to walk with Haleigh]

Haleigh said:
"Alison tells me you have samples of the bab-- of Alexia's bloodwork. I plan on having some research done with both her and Delilah's genetic material.... I'm searching for a solution to our predicament."

That is correct.

I presided over the birth of Alexia. At the moment of her birth, Delilah died and three members of the medical team were unintentionally killed by the uncontrollable manifestation of power from Alexia.

Once I was able to get control of the situation, I immediately began running tests on the baby to determine her exact nature.

She's a mutant, but a rare version, who's power manifested at birth, rather than at puberty like most mutants.

[ Sharon herself had never felt guilt over her..."relationship" with Zach, since it predated Haleigh and because Zach, at that time, was a more than willing recipient AND participant in their relationship. It wasnt until she came back from the DEAD [and not that she had a choice in THAT matter] that all of that came out in the open. By then, Sharon was a raw, wild, chaotic collision of "self" and something new. She'd initially been PROGRAMMED to subdue an capture Black Widow and return her to the last remnant of Mystech, in their final attempt to consolidate their most powerful assets, but in the end, Haleigh managed to survive Sharon's violent onslaught AND helped FREE her of the programming and POISON that was driving her. Still, the newly engineered MUTATE was FAR from being well adjusted enough to simply resume her relationships with the Six, let alone Haleigh. Things improoved slightly, but soon they quickly degenerated. By the time the VIPER caper was upon them, Silver Swan was dreadful, vicious and lashing out at everyone. Black Widow bore the brunt of it, acting as a buffer for the team. On several occassions it seemed as though that might be the DEATH of her, but then, when Viper compelled the T Virus in Haleigh to overpower her and turn HER into a zombie, it was Silver Swan who not only blocked Haleigh from attacking her team mates, but ALSO subdued her. She didn't KILL her, and actually, after all the times BEFORE where she'd WANTED to, in that moment? It never occurred to her! She simply rendedered Haleigh unconscious with a sonic attack, leaving her whole and unharmed.]

[ By the end of that caper, when Haleigh was completely restored/rebooted by Malice, she had a talk with the mutate, who realized that she needed more time and that she wasn't where she needed to be in order to be a good asset to the Six or to be the FRIEND she wanted to be. So, with Black Widow's understanding and blessing, Sharon left the team. She spent time back on Themyscira and when she returned to the outside world, she ended up residing at the Hellfire Mansion via the membership her husband had.]

[ She helped the Six in a supporting capacity here and there, but did not join them in any front line battles. It wasn't until Nicolas approached her on Delilah's behalf, as Delilah's pregnancy became more and more difficult, that Sharon finally returned to the Six, starting fresh with all of her personal relationships in that team and on up to the present.]

[ Haleigh had not been there for her return, she'd missed alot, so it as understandable for the hybrid to be a bit apprehensive. Sharon had no reason to hold that against her.]

I bare no ill will toward Delilah, Haleigh. We have come a long way since the revelation of Viper.

An ally, a friend was in need. How could I not go to her aid? Even if I had not spent time and trained in the ways of the Amazons, I would have done what I could.

I am a mother too, Haleigh. I was a mother BEFORE I became the Silver Swan. THAT meant more to me than anything else.

I have nothing but sympathy for Delilah. But I also realize that her circumstances and mine are different in many key ways. My son was taken from me by force. When I finally laid eyes on him again...all those years later...which might not have happened had it not been for yours and Alycia's efforts I might add...the best thing I could do for him was KILL HIM.

Even as I lead the medical team in helping Delilah to give birth, *I* knew what was coming, thanks to Harbinger. The moment the baby was born, Delilah was dead. There was NOTHING I could do.

Yet, I had no choice but to continue on, gathering information on the baby and taking genetic and blood samples. Bishop was remarkably composed...all things considered...though there were a few moments when I thought I might have to subdue him...

[ It might amuse Haleigh to know that even SHARON was not without her limits of patients when it came to Bishop]

When Delilah suddenly revived before my very eyes, I learned from her that it was the goddesses- Athen and Hecate who were responsible.

[ By now, Black Widow and Silver Swan had made it back inside the mansion and to an elevator that offered express passage down to the Infirmary. They were now walking toward the control center of the Infirmary, where Harbinger was already present and seated at the main computer console]

Delilah confronted ME then about why I hadn't told her anything. My response was simple: 1) there was no question that she would not have been able to fight Circe. No one, especially Morgan and MYSELF, would have allowed it. 2) As for the other matter of the baby...Spellbinder is the leader of the Six. I respected her descision and understood the wisdom of it. That wisdom was born from the knowledge and concern she had for her friend. Delilah understood my position and did not question me further. But even I knew, that once she saw the rest of her team mates, she would demand an accounting from them. There was nothing more I could say. All I could do was help ensure she, Bishop and Alexia remained safe for the duration of the battle against Circe and that's what I did.

Bishop attempted to introduce Delilah to the baby. I was elsewhere in the Infirmary at the moment, dealing with a radiation burst. That's when it happened...

<<FLASH!>>

Oracle said:
<< The Infirmary. During the Blue Moon.>>

Delilah: Delilah waited impatiently, NERVOUSLY, while Maxim was gone. She had waited so long…and this is why she had come back. But the weight of responsibility was now crashing down on her. What had she been thinking? She was no-one’s mother. She couldn’t even take care of herself most of the time, let alone someone else. She would be a terrible-

She didn’t finish the thought because at that moment, Maxim stepped into the room with a tiny bundle against his chest, and JOY overpowered every other thought in her head.

He set the child in her arms. She adjusted the blanket away from the little face. Her daughter’s face. She had never been this happy in her entire life.

“Hello, little girl. I’m your mama, yes, and this is your daddy, and I love you so much.”

She paused.

“Both of you.”

She looked up at Maxim, who stood next to them, looking down, smiled and thought:

This is our family. We are a family. At last.

And then the darkness took her.

Maxim said:
Everything was perfect. This is how it should have been when she was born, he thought. But that didn’t matter now. They were together, and everything was fine. Everything was just fine.

He could move to LA, and give up the life. He could take care of Alexia while Delilah worked as a cop, or with her foundation, or with The Six: whatever she wanted to do. They would be a family. They would be all that mattered to him. They WERE all that mattered to him.

Delilah told him that she loved him, he smiled down at her, he touched the baby’s cheek…

And then Delilah’s eyes closed. Her maternal instinct kept a strong hold on the baby in her arms, but she was unconscious. The heart rate monitor next to the bed and still hooked up to her registered a flat line.

No, this is wrong. It’s not supposed to be this way!

He quickly but carefully took the baby from Delilah’s arms and placed her in the waiting isolette, putting up the forcefield once again as he yelled with everything he had.

“SHARON! HELP! SHARON!”

Delilah looked worse by the second. He noticed the dark tendrils that still connected the child to its mother, even through the forcefield. Through the chaos he wheeled the isolette out of the OR, taking it back down to the nursery and away from Delilah, praying that would save her.

He slumped into a chair in the nursery, staring at the isolette. He was afraid to take down the forcefield so he could hold his child. Afraid that even at this distance the daughter could hurt the mother.

The baby was crying, and so was he.

He put his head in his hands.

Everything was ruined.

She'd only held the baby for mere seconds and she crashed, AGAIN. I moved with the speed of my amazonian namesake, Alleo (Whirlwind) and acted with the focus of Artemis, the wisdom of Athena and thankfully, I was able to revive her. But just BARELY.

It was THEN that my earlier suspicions, based on what I'd witnessed during the initial birth and then the tests I'd ran on Alexia, were confirmed. Alexia's mutant power manifested at birth and it...SHE...like any other infant...requires sustenance and instinctively latched on to her mother. Not just her power, but her very LIFE FORCE.

I was able to SEVER the link between them by placing a power neutralizing collar...of mystech design...on Delilah. Alexia was placed in an isolette with a power dampening field AND a forcefield and taken to the nursery.

The baby's power is what sustains her. Any further attempts to supress her power would have resulted in HARMING her and I was not willing to do that, but by then, even BISHOP could see that Delilah could not be near the child. The result would always be the same. Death.

Bishop was faced with an impossible decision to make. In that, I have EMPATHY for him. He went to the one person who he knew could help him and make sure that Alexia would remain SAFE until such time that a HUMANE method of controlling her power could be found. He went to Harbinger. She, with the support of Spellbinder, did what had to be done.

I understand the logic of what they did. They did it to save Delilah's life. It's exactly what anyone who knows them should've expected. BUT as a mother, I know the pain of having your child taken away from you. Even though it was...NECESSARY in this case...that doesnt change the emotional outcome for her and sadly...there's nothing anyone could do. The pain, the VACUUM that she feels...I have felt it. I don't know HOW I made it through...and I didn't have so many people around me like she does.

As for how right or WRONG they were? I have not spent too much time dwelling on it. Even Athena has acknowledged mistakes SHE has made in hindsight. Wisdom and knowledge do not equal perfection. I saw their motives and I know they were pure and from the heart.

I wonder...about whether or not I would have given Delilah all or even PART of the information. BUT I can tell you with certainty that even if It'd been my choice to tell her about Circe, I would NOT have allowed her to fight Circe. To do so would've been gross negligence! and I don't know that I could have stood by and let her choose to sacrifice herself regarding the baby either. That's what it all ultimately came down to, isn't it? Sometimes, a person's choice is NOT something you can stand back and watch happen because while it's their choice...the consequence of such a choice is MORE than they can afford to pay. Would you have allowed her to go into the water if you'd known...if you'd had ANY indication of what she was going to do?

[ Looking at Haleigh for a moment]

I've done my best to encourage Delilah, to assure her that there's a way and if anyone can, Ororo will find it. Ororo is not unlike the goddesses. Wise, powerful, resourceful and above all, a trusted ally to the Six. She's come through time and again...she will do the same in this situation.

[ the reach the control center and Harbinger]

If you'd like to run tests or examine what I stored, you're welcomed to do so. I have no problem with giving access if Harbinger doesn't.

It seems that my baby has had quite a fun filled afternoon back at Melrose Place. She even let Cameron pick her up! Will wonders never cease!

She likes to pop back and visit. To see her auntie Blaze, her baby sister (the small white kitten) and you too. She apparently went to your apartment first, but you werent home, so then she went to see Blaze and Cameron happened to be there.

I know that Haleigh has returned. It couldn't have happened at a better time.

I never allowed myself to GRIEVE over Foxfire's loss. What kind of sister am I!?

And then...by some WILD happenstance...I wind up being rescued by FIREBIRD in a dystopian timeline and MONTHS after we return to our own time, SHE reappears here?

<< Morgan and Nicolas both remember that night they encountered Firebird for the first time. She was Blaze and yet she was so much more! SHE immediately believed she'd found HER timeline's Morgan and Morgan felt so bad telling her the truth. But they decided they'd be "Sisters anyway" and it wenet from there.>>

I love Blaze Victory. It doesn't matter how she came to be here, she's here and she's my sister. But I haven't been a very good sister.

I haven't been very good at ANYTHING lately, have I?

<< She wasn't getting upset, but it was clearly she had spent time thinking, reflecting and had some rergret.>>

Thank you, so much, for helping her.

<< She moves away from Nicolas, walking about slowly. Her high heels echo with each foot fall as spectral light beams down on her at different points of her path>>

I called you here because I wanted to assure you that I was okay. And also to tell you that I can't come back. Not now.

My contempt for Delilah is too strong. I can't stand the sight of her. I don't really even want to THINK about her, but I can't help THAT.

<< continuing to walk back and forth>>

I've had time, Nicolas. Lots of time to work through things.

<< She stops and turns to face him for where she is>>

I do understand why she's so upset. Alison and I...we didn't tell her, and we should have. Our fear...our lack of trust in her was too strong. In that...we failed her before we'd even decided on a course of action. But AT THE TIME, we didn't see it that way.

But before you start getting soft and presenting yourself as a punching bag to Delilah, let me remind you of something.

Alison and I truly believed she was INSANE. We knew how terrible that would sound to say it, so we kept it to ourselves, but we knew! WHAT ELSE could it be!?

We made several mistakes, Nicolas. Even though we were operating from a pure motive and out of true concern, we made several crucial mistakes!

And now...as she herself has said, Alison and I RUINED her life.

The only thing that trumps my wanting to BEAT THE HELL OUT OF HER is the realization that in spite of my best efforts to save the life of someone I cared about, I still messed up.

Because of this, I'm not sure how effective or capable I am to be leader of the Six.

I'm still thinking about this...and until I am sure of things, one way or the other...I can't come back.

I want you to know something else, Nicolas.

<< She said without any waver in her tone>>

I heard...FELT EVERYTHING she said to me...to US...in the infirmary as I tried to shield everyone from her wrath. I HEARD HER. She meant every word of it. She'd been WAITING for a moment to unload on Alison and I in particular because WE couldn't understand why she was so enamored with a mutant hating flat-scan. Because WE were no longer willing to trust her judgement after all the outrageous, STUPID THINGS she's done with regard to Bishop.

If I had it to do all over again?

I would let her have her way. She could make another stupid, self destructive choice, and DIE because of it. It would be a far better thing to MOURN her now, instead of having to look toward the reality of having to look at her wretched face anytime soon.

She didn't value her life, Nicolas. I never realized how STUPID and WEAK she was until Bishop came along.

So...since she doesnt value her life, why should I? Why should Alison?

There are PLENTY of other people we could and WILL stick our necks out for, who won't turn around and SLICE THEM OPEN.

<< Morgan wasn't raging, but she her outlook and attitude toward Delilah was downright chilling. She admitted she made several crucial mistakes, but just as Haleigh, Cameron, Blaze and most of the others knew...she and Alison were CONVINCED that Delilah's life would've been lost if it'd been left up to Delilah and to THEM, that outcome was just not acceptable. She never imagined that she'd be WRONG for saving a best friend...even if it was from herself>>

Nicolas listened...allowed her to vent, to rage, whatever she needed to do. She had not been able to do this up to this point and so she needed this. He waited until she finished and then he walked up to her, his face stern.

You know what? I am PROUD of what you did. PROUD.

He let it sink in a moment before continuing.

Don't EVER for a SECOND think that you could be wrong for choosing life, for choosing hope, for following the love in your heart for another person in choosing to help them!!

Nicolas voiced boomed through the room. He stepped it back a bit as he continued.

The situation was not perfect and NO ONE could have handled it perfectly. There WAS no perfect solution. Anyone who tries to claim otherwise, INCLUDING Delilah, could not be more wrong. We ALL can dwell on what might have gone better but in the end, you SAVED your friend.

Nicolas lifted her chin a bit higher, drinking in her eyes as he continued.

Let's say you DID fill her in. She was NOT going to terminate the pregnancy. She was NOT going to allow you to separate her from Alexia, even if she had to run from you to do it. The likely scenario is that Delilah DIES and Alexia is either killed or exploited in the process. People can claim otherwise with the benefit of hindsight and the pull of their own desires, but you made not only a LOGICAL choice, but the only one that allowed life AND hope.

Now what is done is DONE. We are HERE now in this present time, and I will not allow you to regret caring, to close yourself off into this fantasy in place of the reality of our lives, our families, our responsibilities because you made a difficult choice.

Look at me Morgan. Where would I be if you and the rest of the Six gave up on me? Where would YOU be if the Inferno was the end of your relationship with your loved ones? Think about where Blaze almost was because we did not see the issue and act on her behalf. TRUST me, she was pissed when I detained her from the Siege, damn near lost a hand...but now she could not be more happy to still have all of us.

Blaze LOVES you SO much Morg. So do all of us. SO do I. If you need more time I cannot help but understand. But you are courageous, a fighter. That means that when the time comes you will deal with everything, and I will be there to support you.

Nicolas leaned forward, kissing her lightly on the lips.

Things won't get better overnight Morgan, but they WILL get better.

Nicolas grasped Morgan's hands as he stood very close, looking into her eyes.

Alycia said:
Well Cass, you've already started that "repayment" by showing that you not only heard me, but you LISTENED. That's all I, Karen or Sharon wanted. Now keep going FORWARD, that's all I ask.

:: Cass nodded sincerely. She knew that she still had a long ways to go, and though right now it’s baby steps for her, she also knew she was on the right track. She absentmindedly petted the white kitten while she talked to Tinkerbell. ::

“Hey, Tink,”

:: The cat just looked away from the succubus. The kitten was now making muffins and she was mewling. Cass turned to Tink. ::

“See? YOU could enjoy this as well!”

:: Tink looked over at Cass and gave her the most disgusted look that clearly said ‘you disgust me’. Cass shrugged. ::

“Your loss.”

:: Blaze came out with another bottle. ::

“Oh geez, Louise!”

Alycia said:
Wonderful, now the REST of us can have a nice, celebratory drink before you two lushes devour THIS bottle as well!

Blaze said:
"Don't be jealous, Alycia. You'll have plenty of time to ply Cameron with alcohol and take advantage him later on I'm sure!"

“Oh, I’m sure he’d be a willing participant,”

:: Cass smiled wickedly. ::

“And if not, I’m sure Alycia could give a few…SPANKINGS!” ;)

Blaze said:
" Will you look at those two, Cass? Hey you two, you're supposed to be cleaning UP, not making a mess with all your hot flirting and DIRTY TALK!"

:: Cass nodded her head without saying anything, as she didn’t know them well enough to joke about “them”. But she went for it anyway. ::

*wickedly*: “Our own little 50 Shades of Grey…”

:: Cass was shaking her head and before she knew it, she was handed a glass. She sighed inwardly. ::

No harm in ONE drink…

:: Nicolas came into the apartment without preamble. He stopped long enough to give Blaze and Alycia hugs and kisses and Cameron a ‘bro-hug’. Cass got a light punch on the arm followed by the young man sticking his tongue out at her, so she would know he was teasing. Then he gathered up Miss Grouchy Pants from the couch and went to Morgan’s bedroom. ::

Must have something to do with Morgan…

Firebird said:
"I found the bottle! You two hot boxes wanna finish up in there?"

Blaze pours up four flutes of champagne when Nicolas arrives.

:: Cass was shaking her head and before she knew it, she was handed a glass. She sighed inwardly. ::

No harm in ONE drink…

:: Cass loved alcohol as much as the next person, but champagne… CHAMPAGNE was a different story. She hadn’t had a drop of any champagne since the terrible night her ex turned on her. He drugged her champagne to make her more weak; more pliable, and ever since then, she didn’t care for the taste. Nor did she care for the onslaught of memories that always came up when she was handed the bubbly liquid. ::

Blaze[B said:
"Ah, Cass. It's SO much fun teasing Cameron. He's almost like my sister! Hit the right buttons, and he blushes brighter than Rudolph's nose!"[/b]

:: Cass giggled as a quote came to her from her old favourite show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She had a naughty look in her eyes. ::

*baby voice*: “’He’s our Cameron-shaped friend! Do you have any idea why we like you so, Cameron? I'll tell you! You're not like other boys at all. You are totally, and completely, one of the girls! We are THAT comfy with him.’”

:: She nodded emphatically with a huge grin on her face. ::

Blaze said:
"Thanks for coming over, by the way."

“Oh, Blaze, it was nothing. Where else would I be?”

Minerva's -- in transit to the infirmary

Sharon: I presided over the birth of Alexia.

"I was going to say....... my own powers only manifested under extreme duress when I was a child, until they developed permanently at the onset of puberty. What an interesting development. I wonder if the entire next generation of mutants will have powers that are apparent at birth."

Sharon told her story, explaining her involvement as they made their way. Haleigh nodded as she listened, more pieces of the puzzle falling into place.

Sharon: Even as I lead the medical team in helping Delilah to give birth, *I* knew what was coming, thanks to Harbinger. The moment the baby was born, Delilah was dead. There was NOTHING I could do.

"I understand, and like I said before, I appreciate everything you WERE able to accomplish."

Sharon: Bishop was remarkably composed...all things considered...though there were a few moments when I thought I might have to subdue him....

"Hmmph. It's probably best I WASN'T there for that part. I probably would have KILLED Bishop for inflicting this on her --and us-- through his own stupid irresponsibility. I'm not sure how the rest of you managed to even LOOK at him, let alone take him seriously."

Sharon: As for how right or WRONG they were? I have not spent too much time dwelling on it. Even Athena has acknowledged mistakes SHE has made in hindsight. Wisdom and knowledge do not equal perfection. I saw their motives and I know they were pure and from the heart.

"Yes, well, hindsight is 20/20. We can look back now and make a judgement call that Delilah should have been TOLD...... but that almost isn't fair to Alison or Morgan. I can also acknowledge that they did the best they could, though it matters NOT to Delilah. All that DOES matter to Delilah is her daughter, and I can't fault her for that either. I can't imagine what she's going through right now but I know it must be terrible. That's why I've promised her to do whatever I can to help find a solution."

Sharon: I've done my best to encourage Delilah, to assure her that there's a way and if anyone can, Ororo will find it. Ororo is not unlike the goddesses. Wise, powerful, resourceful and above all, a trusted ally to the Six. She's come through time and again...she will do the same in this situation.

"Yes...... Well forgive me if I seem to lack faith it's just....... I'm an empiricist. I'd like to apply science and logic. Even if it's not the answer.... we may inadvertently find answers to questions we haven't yet asked."

Sharon: If you'd like to run tests or examine what I stored, you're welcomed to do so. I have no problem with giving access if Harbinger doesn't.

"Thank you. I think another part of Delilah's distress is that no one seems to be doing anything. Everyone has put their trust in Ororo and that's fine enough for some but..... it's too much inactivity for Delilah's comfort and I'm inclined to agree with her. I'm not being nasty or accusing anyone, I just feel like I should be doing something, anything, and I appreciate any action on your part to facilitate that."

Haleigh said, arriving at the control center and giving a polite smile to Alison, who has met them there, as planned. Haleigh glanced at Sharon's reports, committing them to memory and opens a refrigerated case to possession of a tube of the baby's blood. She one again slides the blood into a padded cylindrical tube and seals it carefully.

"I certainly intend to keep you both in the loop regarding my findings. Anything I discover may help Ororo and vice versa! If she makes any progress, I'd be grateful you let me know."

Melrose Place - Apartment #4

Cameron stumbles into the living room with Tinkerbell as he lovingly places her on the floor to roam free. Alycia and Blaze are seen embracing as he gives his greeting to Alycia and she playfully sends a thought call of things to come.

Alycia: ...and you know, when people sin, they have to be PUNISHED! Just consider yourself WARNED for later on!

He smiled to himself and sent a thought call back to her.

"Oh no, we're not going to play ball busting ATTORNEY again, are we? I don't think my cheeks have HEALED since last time!"

As soon as Cassandra arrived the party truly began as he wasted no time in parading the young succubus around! She seemed a little embarrassed but thankfully she seemed to be in far better spirits than he had seen her lately. This was a good sign!

The girls soon began to poke some fun at him as he made his way into the kitchen and began to start cleaning up. In his tipsy state, he began to have somewhat of a narrow focus and began to get a little bit lost in the monotony of washing dishes by hand. Alycia soon entered the kitchen and bumped his hip.

Alycia said:
Cameron, dear, Morgan HAS a dishwasher.

:: Alycia says as she bumps him over a bit with her hip and begins taking dishes from him and out of the sink, loading them into the dishwasher::

I realize you're drunk and all, but there IS a more efficient way to do all of this.

:: She said with a teasing tone as she smiled a bit more, beinding down to load more things in the bottom tray of the dishwasher::

Cameron's face softened as he began to hand Alycia dishes, taking every second to watch her bend down and put those dishes in ;)

"I see your game, Barnett...and it's WORKING! But hey, give me some credit! I may be easy to bed, but i'm sure as hell not easy to drink under the table! Why Blaze over there is my only worthy adversary!"

He bumped her back with his own hip as he handed her another dish.

"And you better stop all of this flirting, Alycia. A guy could get used to something like this..."

Smiling he turned back to rinse some dishes left in the sink. The tension between them had been brewing for quite some time, but Cameron honestly couldn't help but feel there was something more there. He really liked Alycia, and it confused him just as much as it would confuse anybody else on the team to hear. This wasn't just about getting some booty and moving on, he really felt for Alycia...and besides, he was finally at the point in his life where he could enjoy the fruits of his labor...and Alycia seemed to be at a greater point of peace than she had ever been...the two, while seemingly very different, had much to offer one another and Cameron was interested to see how everything would play out.

Suddenly Blaze popped up with another bottle of champagne!

Oracle said:
:: Blaze found another bottle::

Cameron laughed out loud. He pointed as Blaze as he began to rinse off the last of the dishes.

"See?! This is why I love Victory over here! She's the ultimate wingman! Where have you BEEN all my life!?"

Just then Nicolas came in like a tornado at word that Tinkerbell needed to be returned to Morgan. He shook his head as Nicolas made hasty hellos and even faster goodbyes to the group.

"Damn...like a moth to a flame, that boy is! Makes me wonder just WHAT Morgan has up that Donna Karan ultra mini skirt of hers!"

He ribbed Alycia and laughed.

Oracle said:
Blaze: Ah Cass. It's SO much fun teasing Cameron. He's almost like my sister! Hit the right buttons, and he blushes brighter than Rudolph's nose!

:: Cass giggled as a quote came to her from her old favourite show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She had a naughty look in her eyes. ::

Cassandra: *baby voice*: “’He’s our Cameron-shaped friend! Do you have any idea why we like you so, Cameron? I'll tell you! You're not like other boys at all. You are totally, and completely, one of the girls! We are THAT comfy with him.’”

:: She nodded emphatically with a huge grin on her face. ::

Cameron laughed loudly and rolled his eyes, placing his arm around Alycia who had just finished putting the last of the dishes in the dishwasher before turning it on.

"Oh, get OVER yourself, bitches! The only thing your SISTER and I have in common blaze is a bloodthirsty taste for REVENGE and DESTRUCTION! *laughs* Though...I gotta admit...Morgan has me BEAT in that department!"

[turning to Cass]

"And don't be so sure of yourself dear! You know how many women in this group have despised me only to later let me into their bedrooms? I'd say the jury's still out on YOU, Cassandra!"

He turned his stare at Alycia and imparted to her with his eyes that he was only kidding. Not that Alycia was an insecure woman by any means...he just wanted her to know, that in reality, the only woman he was thinking of doing ANYTHING with...was her. He motioned everyone around as Blaze poured champagne flutes for everybody.

"Come on over! I'd like to make a toast!!!!!"

As soon as everyone was gathered with their flutes of champagne...

"To Life! To living every moment like it was your last because in our line of work..it's a GREAT possibility! To Blaze, for sticking around and not leaving us...I know we are a rag tag group of people, but goddammit? We're family! To Alycia Barnett...one of the strongest, sexiest and most FEARLESS woman I know...Without YOU? We would have had a LOT of messes to clean up...so in case we haven't said it before? We appreciate you like no other, mama! To Cassandra! We know that trying to get with this group of insane asylum escapees isn't easy...but you're trying your best, and we are DEEPLY appreciative of EVERYTHING you've helped us with...we hope you see that we are handing you the KEYS to an EXCLUSIVE club and asking you to be a part of our family! So take the damn KEYS, Johnson! CHEERS!"

Everybody clammered their glasses together in a celebratory toast.

"Now let's finish this bottle and get ready to start this goddamn adventure...only thing we're waiting on is Nicolas...Let's just pray that Morgan has a HEADACHE!"

and so

<< Time passes for everyone.>>

-------------------------

<< Minerva's Mansion>>

<< Silver Swan stands beside a seated, grim faced Harbinger as Black Widow now accesses and downloads all files relating to MorningStar and the birth of baby Alexia, also taking some of the stored blood and genetic samples. BUT Harbinger had made two conditions that Haleigh must meet. One- MorningStar is not allowed to return to Minerva's mansion, for ANY reason. Two- if she compromises the secrets of Minerva's Mansion, Harbinger or any member of the Six to outside entities...she will face HARBINGER herself for an accounting.>>

<< Having agreed and promising Alison to keep the identities of the Six and their Allies a secret from whomever she plans to seek help from, Haleigh soon departs the mansion, promising to give Sharon and Alison any updates she may have, while they assure her that the moment they hear from Ororo, they'll contact her.>>

<< Haleigh has managed to accomplish more than she or Delilah could have expected but the black hole between Harbinger/Spellbinder and MorningStar still remains, with little in the way of closing it being apparent to anyone yet.>>

-------------------------------------------------

<< From Limbo to Melrose Place>>

<< Hours pass and Nicolas is returned to his own apartment via stepping disc. He spent time with Spellbinder. They talked and shared each other's company. But while Morgan could appreciate his tender touch and even a kiss or two, she could not allow herself to be with him completely at this time. Still, he had the sense that her return to earth, to her life and to HIM were now closer at hand than much earlier, when he'd first returned Tinkerbell to her.>>

<< He was doing what his aunt had admonished him to do, being there for those who he COULD, those who would RECEIVE his help. That certainly included Morgan and Blaze. AND He had satisfied his nagging curiosity and hope that Delilah would be ready to receive his help. She was not. But time always had a way of changing things, even amongst the strong wills and hard hearts of the Six.>>

<< For now though, it was time for him to get ready for the evening's events. Firebird's whirlwind "corronation" into this world would begin at After-Dark.>>

--------------------------------------------

<< Melrose Place, Apartment 4>>

<< After the afternoon/early evening gathering at Morgan's apartment, which saw Alycia, Cass and Cameron enjoying fun and fellowship with Blaze Victory, they all went their seperate ways to prepare for the evening.>>

<< Alycia would would not be joining Cameron, Nicolas, Blaze and Cass. She had other plans, with Delilah.>>

<< After returning to Michael's apartment to take care of some legal business with Karen in private, Alycia went to help Delilah pack what few things she was going to carry with her on this trip from LA to NYC. Delilah entrusted the care and security of her apartment to Haleigh until her eventual return. She wanted to leave quietly and Alycia assured her that they would. >>

<< And speaking of New york....more than a little of our attention will be directed there soon enough.>>

<< and so, into the night, we watch>>
