Wyndemere: The Reception

Adrian turned on his heel as he heard the definitive tap of Alison's shoes behind him. A lecherous grin spread across his face.

"Alison," he'd say again, jovially, analyzing her superciliously with his brown eyes. In a more prominent light now, Alison would have the opportunity to take in his tailored outfit. Black, keeping with the tone of the occassion, but made of a soft material. That coat of his was the omnipresence, hanging from his shoulders and sweeping the ground with but the slightest movement. Adrian, in closing, looked the part of the mourner, save the tell-tale smirk on his face.

"I'd like to think of it as a fashionably late entrance."

He cocked his head, lips pursed.

"Not happy to see me, darling?" he asked with innocent disdain, but now having moved forward and letting his gaze move from her to Cameron and Alexis. "Not that these are the most festive of times, anyway," Adrian drawled, riveting his attention back on her.

in the main hall

<< Morgan stood a few paces back...square shouldered...her arms folded...and glaring at Cameron. he couldnt see her unforgiving icy violet eyes through the feminine, rounded gucci sunglasses. her face had a stone faced expression...>>

<< her tailored black suit gave her that look of an evil, feminine spy..and she looked like she could leap into action at any moment as she stood tall and undaunted by people passing by her and around her. she kept glaring at Cameron and Haleigh>>

i hate them BOTH...and they better not do anything stupid today. those two never could understand that not everything was about them

<< Morgan kept watch>>

:: Alison exhaled with annoyance::

you flippant wretch...i should blow you up where you stand!

::leering at him with her cobalt blue eyes...her cold aura began to wash over him::

i think you better present yourself with a little more sensitivity...before you find yourself the guest of honor...at your OWN funeral. this is the calm before the storm.....Alexis is in grave danger...and we are here to help see her through this and keep her out of harm's way....if you are UNABLE to make yourself usefull for anything other than being a human mattress...then FALL BACK!

"I have no intention of letting you blow me, Alison," Adrian replied, smoothly forgetting the essential preposition "up", and equally letting his gaze fall on her. His candid stare would have embarassed others, but Alison probably knew better than to feel any sort of embarassment for this two-faced, narcisstic motherfucker.

"As for my sensitivty," he continued, "I plan on offering Alexis all of the emotional support she needs."

Adrian blinked, and then sighed. "But she's wary of me, and frankly, I'm just as affronted by the company around her. And it chills me, Alison, to see her so vulnerable. Especially around that old bat that's haunting Alexis' every step."

He scowled, commenting thoughtfully, "I'm not a bad person and, hell, I've leant many a shoulder to the weepy and mournful. Maybe if someone she knew would just introduce me and allow me to properly relay my remorse and stuff..."

He looked at Alison.

:: As Alexis mentioned the woman he was with. He quickly searched for the right story to at least buy Haleigh and the Rest of the Six some peace for the moment. ::

"Oh.. That is Rebecca Meridian. She's an old friend from Los Angeles I asked to join me. She was a good friend of mine in Los Angeles, but ever since the Six, I haven't really been keeping in touch with people.."

:: Before Alexis even responded he found himself embraced by the Meta Human in a kiss. Though as innocent as it seemed, there was an underlying theme of almost passion and fire. It was an odd chemistry that the two shared. The two were instantly locked in a gaze that was almost hypnotic to those around them. For just a brief moment, there was nobody else. Just Alexis and Cameron. He smirked at her ::

"It has been a rough few days, but you and me, we're survivors, we're gonna get through this, and we're gonna move on. Don't feel bad Alexis.. Nobody really could be there for me..It's kind of something I have to do on my own, but for you, just know that anytime you need anything from anybody.. I will be there for you. I promise. Scout's Honor..."

:: He put his hand out and made a Boy Scout Signal. The two laughed for a moment before remembering where they were. Suddenly, the room and the world around them appeared yet again. Back to Reality. ::

"I would love to stay and be by your side, but obviously your posse isn't going to permit that at this point..I will be near, let me know if anything goes awry..."

:: He turned around and began to walk back to the couch and back to Haleigh. Before he sat down he turned his head over his shoulder and looked back at Alexis once more and smiled, but his smile soon turned into a grimace as he felt another intense amount of shooting pain that felt like it was inside his brain. He looked at the room as all of a sudden, ghostly figures appeared in the room and then dissipated just as quickly as they came. What was going on with him? Had Cameron made a terrible mistake? He turned back to Haleigh. ::

"I think something's up here..I of course seal off my telepathy at the most inopportune time.. I need a refill.."

:: Cameron's drink was quickly refilled as he noticed Alison talking to Adrian Lockhart of all people! He was completely shocked appalled that he would even show his face at an event in the memory of Alexis' brother. After what he tried to pull? He would talk to Alison later, but not when Morgan was so close. ::

Haleigh nodded as Cameron excused himself. She looked around the room, casing the place. Analyzing the people who were mingling about. She watched Alexis handle condolences, with Alison and Morgan flanking her like bodygaurds. She crinkled her nose as a strange smell filled the air, looking around... Alison departed from Alexis' side, going over to a corner to talk to Adrian Lockhart. Haleigh knew him... well... she knew OF him. Who didnt? The real mystery was... what was he doing HERE? and with Alison? Alison didnt seem the type to even entertain the prettyboy tramp for business purposes, let alone associate with him off in some corner of a sprawling mansion. Haleigh looked over at Cameron and Alexis... she watched them speak, watched them hug. And then.... they kissed. Haleigh found herself looking away. She looked off to the side, her vision unfocused, then down at her lap. she rubbed her eyes softly and raked her fingers through her blonde locks whispering softly to no one in particular. "Of course...."

Hales snuck a peek at them once more... looking at the two surreptitiously over her shoulder. Cameron was walking back this way. he seemed to pause right before he sat down... and the gesture made the hairs on the back of Haleigh's neck stand on end. She looked around warily once more before setting her half finished drink on the coffee table in front of the sofa. Cameron was lifting his refill to his lips, and Haleigh quickly reached up and touched his hand, pulling his drink back down to his lap.

"No. I feel it too... and if something really bad drops, I need you to be as coherent as possible. Now your telepathy is on the fritz... but I can tell its coming through every now and then. Focus Cam. Use your OTHER abilities. Now tell me... WHY is Alison talking to that man? He smells like Sex and Cyanide. The last man on earth either Alison OR Morgan would even acknowledge the presence of."

back in the throng

::Alison scoffed at Adrian::

everything about you is superficial and pretentious...the only reason i wont castrate you at this moment is because you are SUPPOSED to be here and involved in this string of events...but i warn you...if you put one foot wrong...i'll have you on your back so damn fast you'll think you're on one of your dates!

::she forcibly turned Adrian around and shoved him forward...walking along with him and herding him along...::

::whispering in his ear::--straight up and act like you know how to act...as it stands right now..you reek of cheap debauchery.

::finally reaching Alexis...and completely IGNORING Haleigh as she rolled her cobalt blue eyes with disgust...Alison spoke..interrupting Cameron with her strong, analytical tone::

ALEXIS....Adrian Lockhart has arrived to pay his respects and offer his condolences...I brought him to you so as not to allow him to work the crowd in his usual fashion...

::Alison elbows Adrian in the stomach..cuing him to offer his sincere condolences...and to do so with grace and sensitivity. she steps back a bit...standing beside Morgan...as the two women watch Haleigh, Cameron and Adrian with an unforgiving, stern gaze::

:: Watching Cameron head back to his friend, something didn't seem right about his story. Why on earth would he invite a long time friend to a wake? It's not exactly the best place to reminisce about each other's past. Either way, Alexis just shook her head and smiled softly as he turned back around to show, once again, he was there for her. But soon...his face became serious. Something was wrong. But before she could find out what, she heard Alison introduce Adrian. Why was HE HERE. That limpdick playboy wasn't about to seduce her guests at a funeral of all places. Gritting her teeth, her head began to spin a bit. Well damn...294 days really did make a difference when only having once drink. Placing her fingers up to her forehead, within the precise moment, a guest accidently bumped her, sending Alexis toppling into Adrian. Well that was one way to welcome a guest. ::

<< Morgan lifted an eyebrow with suspicion and curiosity as she looked upon this Adrian>>

<<she looked upon him with an air of disdain as she shifted her weight from leg to the other...still standing posed with her arms folded and not saying a word....she was startled a bit as Alexis fell into Adrian....wondering how the hell that could've happened....>>

OH!

<< she stepped forward..and pulled Alexis back....not intentionally meaning to YANK her..as she pulled her so quickly...but something about Adrian made Morgan feel a tad bit uneasy...though it was hard to tell the whole of her facial expression through the gucci sunglasses>>

Alison....

<<she looked over at Guardian who seemed to be a little dismayed herself...but thankfull that Morgan reacted so quickly..KNOWING what Adrian was capable of>>

He frowned, whispering back to her in mock indignation, "Superficial and pretentious?! I'm as genuine as they get, babe." Adrian grinned genially, muttering, "Don't worry though, I'll be nice. I have a way with people, don'tcha know." Which, truthfully, he did. Adrian could get along with almost anyone if he chose to, even without the help of his potent pheromones. He had a knack for finding people's strengths and weaknesses, then playing them like strings on a guitar in whatever fashion he chose.

Keeping a dignified pace as Alison dragged him along (Shit she's strong), Adrian felt eyes on him and looked towards Haleigh and Cameron. He raised an eyebrow at Haleigh -- as one who controlled toxins of all sorts, the virus in that blonde-haired woman practically glowed out from her. Intrigued, but preoccupied with Alison's insistent grip and the nearing of Alexis, he turned his mind back to the matter at hand.

Within feet of her, Adrian's playful grin disappeared. Tense of the shoulders. Downcast eyes. Lowered tone, dripping with sadness.

It was masterful, really. Whereas his reminiscing of his parents had earlier drained him, Adrian now artfully exploited his own weakness, conjuring up the image of father and mother to perpetuate remorse.

As she collided into him, Adrian grabbed a hold of Alexis' hand gently to steady her. And there. That crucial moment where Adrian's touch would send Alexis' senses on fire as the contact of pheromones seeped into her pores -- a drug more inhibiting than any alcoholic drink.

"Alexis..." he started, but then stopped, unsure of how to continue, as she was straightened with the help of Morgan. He ignored Morgan for the time being. "I'm sorry." Pathetic finish. Yet intended. A tongue-tied Adrian? He, who could orate marvelously to crowds of thousands? It had to be genuine.

Adrian turned toward her, regarding Alexis with his warm, brown eyes. Even with the stern warning of Alison next to him, his pheromones always maintained a consistent presence, and they'd now haze over Alexis, muddling her senses, in addition to the chemicals that now ran amuck in her body and straight to her brain.

"My parents died when I was young, and I can only imagine how the loss of a loved one must hurt when you're older..when.." Adrian paused. "Everything is so much more vivid and real. And of course harpy relatives don't help the situation."

A harsh laugh left his lips.

"Wills have a way of bringing out the worst in people," he'd add bitterly, looking away from her, and in the process he conjured up the image of a meek, abandoned boy caught in the tug-a-war of alienated family members, who vied for his family fortune.

"Oh and, I also apologize for being tardy to the funeral. It was a lovely service, though, and your speech was... it was very sincere."

He grinned somewhat. "I liked it." Just a bit of brashness, because all of this sympathy and empathy coming from Adrian would raise an eyebrow without some of his uncouth behavior interrupting occasionally.

:: As Adrian grabbed to steady her, a warm tingling sensation overcame Alexis, only intensifying what she thought were the effects of alcohol...but truly, it was a mixture of that and Adrian's pheromones. Being yanked back by Morgan, Alexis stumbled once more. ::

"Jesus..let's not rip Alexis' arms off."

:: She muttered with a small laugh being heard. Oh yes, she was drunk. Drunk off Adrian. His powers were in fact pretty impressive. But in these instances, everyone around would only assume she had been drinking all day...which wasn't the case. Just one. Only one. Pulling her arm away from Morgan, she steadied herself. Hearing Adrian's "heartfelt" words, she tilted her head narrowing her eyes. ::

"Well join the club, babe. Because if you hang with us, there will be more deaths in the near future."

:: Patting his cheek pretty roughly, she pushed past Adrian, walking through the crowds of people whom were now looking toward her. If anyone knew how to crash a party, it was Alexis. But for the most part, she was acting normal.....but her emotions were now coming out. Not her sadness, not her guilt. But her anger. Toward Helena, toward AJ for leaving her. Toward the people who killed him. ::

"To the gods of 90 proof.....for inducing their blissful ignorance in the face of hateful vermin(Helena), who'd otherwise rub your nose in their mean-spirited reality."

:: Looking toward Helena whom had a smirk from ear to ear. The face of evil. The positively radiant glow of satisfaction. The bitch. ::

"Show no emotion when it comes to your fears and insecurities. Especially when...when the target wears it on her sleeve. Mine happens to be this crazy desire I have to want to be wanted! To belong to people I care about, and have them belong to me back. I guess...I guess that's what you'd call a family.."

:: Walking up to Helena, Alexis could care less who heard her, that it was at AJ's reception. She didn't care. She was going to rail Helena. ::

"...although you certainly wouldn't know what that is because you're a spineless, bottom-feeding, BITCH!!!! YOU should of been the one to die! Not AJ! Not HIM! You thrive on abuse and deception! You continuously make this family crumble! We're just an accessory to your madness you heartless TRAMP!"

:: Swinging her arm back, Alexis pushed her fist forward, slamming her knuckles into Helena's jaw. Gasps could be heard, and whispers. Helena fell to the ground, holding her jaw/cheek. Her styled hair shaded her face from Alexis. Boy that felt good.....::

::Alison heard Morgan and saw as Morgan yanked Alexis away from Adrian...she knew Morgan didnt intentionally mean to man handle Alexis..it was just instinct to pull her away from what Morgan could clearly tell was a corruptive influence...Alison watched Alexis....::

::"seeing" recent events that lead up to this moment...before blurting out:: she had a drink! and....

::turning to glare at Adrian:: YOU...

::she walked forward and pushed Adrian backward, and leaning forward so that only Cameron, Morgan and Haleigh could hear her commanding voice::

...this is YOUR doing...stop it NOW before i HURT YOU!

::tension was rising as people there gasped while Alexis smacked Helena down...it wasnt as powerful as Morgan's punch from the other night..but it was heartfelt and cathartic for Alexis...that much was clear...and Adrian's pheromones were catalyzing Alexis' hidden anger into being now more than ever thanks to her being plyed by alcohol.

Morgan.....keep up with Alexis...

::looking at Cameron:: and you..keep HER out of the way ::motioning at the woman she knew to be haleigh.::

<< Morgan stepped back a step as Alexis pulled away from her grasp...and proceeded to make her way to Helena. She couldve guessed what was coming...even WITHOUT Adrian's manipulation, which morgan wasnt specifically aware of, Alexis wanted...NEEDED this moment. She looked on as Alison accosted Adrian..wondering what more there was to the relationship between those two...but that of course would have to wait till another time. Alison was the seer..if she reacted this strongly...clearly there was a need. Morgan nodded as Alison directed her to keep up with Alexis.>>

i'm on it.

<< Morgan walked slowly but with a purpose over toward Helena and Alexis...annoyingly shoving an obnoxious gawking male out of the way as he went helplessly stumbling into a chair nearby....casual observers might wonder how this tall modelesque woman could be so "strong"..not knowing what she actually was. Morgan was now in the immediate circle of people around the two women...slightly closer than others...but keeping her distance...and her body language suggested that OTHERS do the same.... she stood silently and watched...narrowing her eyes...which were still hidden behind the gucci sunglasses.>>

finally ...helena got what she deserved from alexis..it means more coming from her than me..even though i enjoyed knocking that hag through the window. i wont interfere just now....ill let this play out..and be on hand in case anyone ELSE tries to get involved.

Adrian watched as Alexis walked away. He cocked his head, the smallest of smiles lingering on his lips. As Alison addressed him, he raised his eyes toward her warily. When her hands firmly planted themselves on his chest and gave him an emphatic push, Adrian stood his ground.

"You wanted me to help Alexis, and I have helped her. Look at her, Alison.. she's alive now. And that bitch of a woman finally got what was coming to her," Adrian said, voicing the thoughts of anyone who had been subjected to Alexis' torment under Helena's harsh tongue. "You asked for support and I gave it," he said, the words practically hissed into her ear as they now stood close together. So close that the faint smell of expensive after-shave waivered towards her nose, intermixed with the typical accompanyment of chocolate-mint.

"Repressed emotions are hazardous to health, after all," he drawled, staring at her for a second too long and then turning to observe the developing event more fully, a smirk gracing his face.

"You selfish twit!"

Helena screamed as she flipped her hair away from her face, glaring up at Alexis. A bit of blood could be seen exiting the corner of her mouth, where Alexis punched her. Helena pushed herself up off the ground; her anger level escalating.

"I knew you would cause a scene like this! You're a drunk lunatic! EVERYONE KNOWS IT!"

Helena shouted. The groups of people began to gather more around the two woman. This seemed like something out of the WWE then a funeral reception.

"You take after Adam! He was a head case on the verge of losing his medical license! He was unstable just like you! He was psychotic just like you! You were NEVER Alan's daughter! You're Adam's! You are an exact replica of him!!!"

Her voice rising above all. People jumped...they were shocked. Slowly people began to back away from the scene, noticing Morgan had arrived. The citizen's from Port Charles were used to Alexis and Helena's feud, but this...this was hardcore.

"I want everyone OUT! NOW!"

Helena took a step forward, wiping the blood from her lip. Her eyes were cold. Her expression was undeniably evil...Soon, guests began to leave. Many of them whispering how this was going to land the Quartermaine's on the front page of the paper again. Many saying Helena was unstable. Some whispering about Alexis. The soft sounds of people's voices began to fade as they were soon, all out of Wyndemere. Alison, Morgan, Adrian, Haleigh, and Cameron were the only guests remaining. They watched on as Helena and Alexis stood toe to toe. Glaring at one another. Helena placed her hand onto Alexis' face, cupping her finger's tightly around her chin. Only mere inches from her, Helena's voice was low and sadistic.

"
I will kill you. Just like you killed AJ."

Pushing her head forcefully away, Helena stormed out of the livingroom, heading down the hall toward the downstair's library. The loud clunking of her shoes echoed throughout the large estate's hallways. Snapping her fingers, a man suddenly appeared in a blink of an eye behind her, keeping up with her pace.

"Give them time...make them think the threat is over."

Stopping, the man stopped too. Gripping her hands into fists, her knuckles turned a stark white.

"Then kill them all. I want their heads handed to me on a silver platter."

With that, Helena began to walk again, disappearing into the Quartermaine library.

:: Alexis put a foot back, keeping her from stumbling from Helena's shove. Alexis glared with detest as she walked out of the room. Her breathing began to pick up. Everyone was gone. Only The Six remained. Screaming at the top of her lungs, Alexis picked up the nearest bottle of liquor and through it with ample force against the nearest wall. Alexis' level of anger was rising with every moment that passed. She was normally a "collective" woman...things pissed her off, yes. Things upset her, yes. But she was able to control it. She was able to keep her emotions in check. It made her stronger. It made her seem indestructible. But now, she didn't care. Either she would let it all out now, or she would completely explode. ::

"I WANT HER DEAD!"

:: She screamed. Her voice as low and sadistic as Helena's was only minutes earlier. The similarities between the two were uncanny.....Turning around, she faced the others. Seeing Haleigh was still there, it made her grow even more annoyed. ::

"Why are you here!?! LEAVE! This doesn’t concern you!"

:: Looking toward Cameron. ::

"Sorry, but unless she's all of a sudden apart of The Six, she needs to be gone! NOW!"

:: Unbeknownst to her...she was apart of The Six. Putting her hand up to her forehead, Alexis felt faint. The combination between Adrian's pheromones, the alcohol, and her adrenaline was taking a toll. ::

Haleigh watched the ensuing events objectively... she watched and listened for any clues as to why Adrian was here. it wasnt as though she didnt WANT him here... because she really didnt give a damn. She just didnt understand WHY. Alexis seemed to be losing control... Haleigh frowned... she could already tell this wasnt going to go smoothly. Alexis exploded out of nowhere, decking Helena in the face and sending her crashing to the floor. Alison accused Adrian of being the culprit, manhandling him in the process and demanding Cameron keep a handle on Hales. Haleigh was DEFINITELY going to have to talk with Alison... but at the moment, things were too hectic. there was a lot of yelling and when the dust all settled, the Six were the only ones left in the room. Haleigh seemed so out of place here... everyone else looked both veterans to this fight and weary of it... and Haleigh, her face of twenty, looked like a young, fresh-faced college kid. Reality couldn't be farther from the impression.

Alexis seemed distraught, Hales noted. she began yelling at Haleigh... affronted, Haleigh would normally jump to her feet and set the room on fire with hostility... but she sat still, propped on the couch comfortably, the same position she'd acquired when she arrived. It was a testament of just how deeply her death had affected her. Haleigh shook her head, locking eyes with Alexis.

"You'll have ME leave and not HIM?" She asked, gesturing towards Adrian. Hlaeigh looked from Cameron to Alison increduously. They both knew more than they were letting on. "Am I MISSING something here? Is he a PART of this? Of the Six?"

No one seemed to have an answer for her. She looked insulted that Cameron had 'forgotten' to mention it to her... yet still, as she turned her bright green eyes back on Alexis, she sat in her place, unmoving, not complying with ALexis' request for her to leave. She figured she'd better go ahead and get it all out on the table... now was as good a time as any.

"Alexis... we're ALL tired of condolences... but I'm sorry for your loss. Its hard to lose someone so close. Especially after Blaze..." Haleigh paused... but it was DEFINITELTY too late to turn back now... she could tell she had ALexis' undivided attention. "I'm sorry but I'm NOT leaving... I'm as much a part of the Six as you are... I know I LOOK different Alexis... but ask Alison, Morgan or Cameron. They'd have tried to kill me for coming here if they thought I was lying... its me.... Haleigh."

Haleigh, sitting on the sofa with her legs pulled up underneath her, pulled back the hem of her dress, revealing a holstered .45 caliber pistol, strapped to the inside of her thigh. Only Haleigh Davidoff would come to a wake with a concealed weapon.... and she revealed it to make that very point. But would Alexis believe her? Would Alison try to kill her for making herself known?

::too busy bickering with Adrian...Alison failed to immediately notice that Haleigh had just OUTED herself...her real identity to Alexis...and at the most volatile of times! even as the guests were ushered out...leaving only The Six and allies (so to speak) as they now are faced with the genesis of yet another perilous caper::

:: exhaling with annoyance at Adrian, Alison threw her hand forward to interrupt him as she pointed her finger..poking him hard in the chest as she scolded him::

i dont want to hear another word! this is all your fault! you didnt do this for HER benefit..you did this to enjoy the spectacle...you twisted worm of a man!

::turning her head sharply...as her blue/black, sleek, bone straight, middle parted bob flowed with the turn, Alison glared at Haleigh::

and YOU! WHAT do you think you're DOING!?

::she bellowed with annoyance....as she strode forward...in her black military inspired design tie round, caroline hererra jacket along with the plunging V neck black high hemlined dress...and black four five inch high heels... ::

You may have been granted a repreive...but that hardly makes YOU the one to rally "the team" at this moment. don't you see we're in the middle of a crisis!?

:: Everything was just suddenly happening so fast. One minute Helena was standing there, and the next she was on the floor. Cameron gave a look to Haleigh and sighed heavily. ::

"I am thinking that Adrian Lockhart is going to be the least of our problems right now.."

:: As Alison was dispatching of Adrian, she leaned forward and made a clear note for Cameron to keep Haleigh out of the way. He looked over to his friend. Everyone was shouting, especially Alexis who seemed to be going off the deep end, though at least it was rage and not emotions this time. It had been hard to see her after figuring out about her brother's death. Then. Haleigh dropped the bomb. ::

"REBECCA!"

:: He was at least trying to cover his tracks. This was going to make Alexis go crazy. Finding out that Blaze and her Brother were dead and Haleigh had been there and back. This was the worst timing ever and it seemed to be all the doing of Adrian Lockhart. He had to do something. He turned to Haleigh. ::

"You should leave.. I know, it doesn't seem right, but things are TOO Complicated right now.. TOO complicated. Let US handle it, I will meet up with you later, but just.. please for the sake of the group.. LEAVE..."

:: It was extremely hard for him to say, but emotions were on high and the smallest thing could cause Alexis and anyone else to break down. He needed to do damage control. With Haleigh gone, Morgan and Alison would at least be able to tolerate Cameron and figure out just what was going on. He didn't say another word to her, but instead turned to Adrian. ::

"What, do you go around looking for parties to crash and fuck up or is it just luck?"

Haleigh crossed on knee over the other, brushing imaginary lint from her dress as it draped over her thigh, slightly bored with Alison's [over the top, in her opinion] reaction. She looked up at Alison, making direct eye contact, as if to stare her down. She was tired of being made the scapegoat... and she was tired of Alison acting as though SHE AND MORGAN had 'allowed' her to return. Alison's voice was raised and whiny... Haleigh responded with restraint in a low, aggravated tone.

"Give me a break lady, I am doing the very best that I fucking can."

She said no more... and sat stoic, as if unperturbed by Alison, who was now behaving like a spoiled two year old whose mother just interrupted her from watching Barney. Can't you see I'm in the middle of watching tv? she mentally heard Alison rasping at the top of her lungs. It made her crack a smile... even though she KNEW it wasnt the best possible time... it was just what Alison had reminded her of. Cameron broke in now, and Haleigh couldn't believe her ears.... She stared at him, her brow furrowed, her smile leaving her face... she didnt understand.... why was he doing this? Her green eyes locked with his....glaring at him, and only he could see the hurt. She blinked... and then took a deep breath... and turned away from him. She didnt speak, just sat where she was. She couldn't believe Cameron... pushing her away... when she'd just as much right to be there as anyone... she was offended... she could handle Morgan and Alison NOT wanting her there... but Cameron? He was her only true ally... and she had a feeling he didnt have many 'friends' among this group either... So she wasn't leaving him. Alexis was close with Morgan and Alison.... it was only a matter of time before she was turned against him. All Cameron had managed was to make Haleigh angry with him.
