Wyndemere: The Reception

:: Cameron had gotten away, but he was far from danger. Two men appeared in front of him, lunging forward. But what he didn't see was another man appeared behind him, with a large butterfly knife in his hand. Flipping it open, he reached around Cameron's shoulder pulling him back into the knife, stabbing him right in the back. Holding the knife tightly against his back, the man soon began to turn it, slicing his flesh in an oh so painful sort of way. ::

----

:: In the foyer, the ladies weren't doing too hot themselves. Not only was Alexis knocked out, but Morgan and Alison too. With all the amount of power the six had, Helena's powerLESS men managed to take control of the situation. It was brilliant actually. A man quickly scooped up Alexis' limp body and headed for the large cherrywood shelving unit which was next to the staircase. Pulling on one of the statues placed on the end of the banister, the shelves slid to the side revealing a passage. It was the entrance to the many hidden underground tunnels located in Wyndemere. The man with Alexis entered first as five others followed behind. The shelve slid back to place, as if was never moved. ::

:: Prophet went to face the two men in front of him when he was caught off balance by a tug to his shoulder and then an immense amount of pain in his back. The stab actually took his breath away as he coughed a few times and fell hard to the ground, completely and utterly incapicitated. He couldn't even speak it hurt so bad. He looked around but he couldn't see the other girls. Where had they gone? Where was everyone? The pain was creeping up on him in a very less than friendly way as he slowly slipped out of consciousness, muttering two small words as he passed out. ::

"You...suck..."

As Adrian flew foward, his body landed onto the ground and he skidded. The steady path towards a piece of furniture was halted as another man jumped on top of him and halted his progression. He felt the chilling touch of metal as handcuffs were put on him.

Adrian surpressed a laugh. Thousands of goons could attack him for all he cared. All it took was the simple will power to let his pheromones leak out and take control of these countless men for him to sabotage the plans of Helena. Unlike the rest of The Six, Adrian was very capable of successful resistance. Yet this attack would work in his favor, and as he felt the comforting numbness associated with blacking out, he thought, You fools. You have no idea who you're messing with.

Helena slowly made her way into the livingroom, her heals the only sounds that could be heard in the large open room. The Wildpack stopped. They looked to their mistress and rested their hands behind their back, now standing in a military "at ease" position. Helena's eyes shifted from one fallen member to another. Her smirk growing with intensity seeing how they laid helplessly in her livingroom...just waiting to be murdered. Walking through the livingroom, she soon came upon the fallen Alison and Morgan. A sadistic laugh could be heard.

"No smart comments and witty comebacks, Alison?"

Helena pushed Alison's unconscious body over with the toe of her shoe, rolling her from her stomach to her back. The woman's bone straight brown locks scattered along her face. She wanted to see her face. The face that defied her at ever meeting, scrutinized her for being an "old lady not capable of anything".

"Stupid bitch."

Helena pounded her foot into Alison's face, kicking her right in the cheekbone/eye. Her limp head rolled from one side to another. Helena sneered, seeing a small amount of blood trickling down the corner of her eye.

Lifting her gaze from Alison to Morgan, a loud laugh could be heard echoing throughout the estate.

"And you. You are exactly like your mother. Predictable to the T. Headstrong, and cocky. Well...you'll suffer the same fate as Karen soon enough. But I have more pressing issues to attend to."

Waving her hand, one of the members from the Wildpack placed his hand on Helena's shoulder...

"Kill them all."

She murmured in a harsh, deep tone. And with that, Helena and the men touching her, disappeared from sight, only leaving the Wildpack and the unconscious six.

---

Appearing in an cave which was connected to the many numerous tunnels that ran under Wyndemere, Helena smiled seeing one of her men holding Alexis' helpless body.

"Put her over there."

Helena pointed to a chair which had wire ropes and handcuffs resting on it.

"I'm going to take great pleasure in this, my dear sweet Alexis..."

Helena's voice echoed throughout the caverns. The tunnels under Wyndemre estate had been there for centuries. There were hundreds of maze like tunnels that stretched as far as five miles under not only Wyndemre itself, but it's grounds. It was the perfect place to hide out...and an even better place to commit murder.

Adrian Lockhart had awaken minutes after Alexis' departure with the maleficent Helena Quartermaine. Propped up against a wall with his hands behind his back, Adrian observed with disdain as Helena's henchmen guaffed and pointed at him, making derisive comments about the amount of money his ransom could produce.

"Boys, boys," Adrian interrupted good-humoredly, "let's cut the crap. Where did your mistress run off to?"

One of the head henchmen, Ralph, laughed at him. Some of his spittle landed on Adrian's cheek. Adrian bit his tongue.

"Like we'd tell you," Ralph snapped, approaching Adrian with a brandished razor. Something about Adrian's countenance chilled Ralph; his eyes were cold, full of empowering confidence. Ralph pushed away his uneasiness. Adrian Lockhart was at his mercy.

Ralph didn't know much about Adrian.

Adrian smiled suddenly. "You're going to kill me with that?" he asked Ralph incredulously, and one of Ralph's subordinate, Alex, elbowed him in the ribs and whispered in a voice laced with terror, "Boss, I've read about this stuff in magazines. He's been attacked before. No one has succeeded. They've been fucking poisoned sometimes."

"Shut up," Ralph whispered back hoarsley, but doubt clouded his eyes.

"What's that smell?" a Wildpack member's voice asked, interrupting his sporatic thoughts.

Ralph's gaze shot towards Adrian. The celebrity looked up at him calmly. A scent akin to cyanide intercepted Ralph's nostrils. A few moments later, and the eerie sound of sighs filled the room. As Adrian's pores continuously supplied a steady stream of lethal toxins, the room full of croonies shook as every henchmen fell. Adrian observed the strewn bodies for a second and then quickly turned to the task at hand.

He wiggled his fingers, fingers restricted by metal cuffs, and felt the chemical assurance of acid materialize around his hands, melting the metal like butter. Standing now, Adrian looked toward his fallen "comrades". When the last remnants of toxins disappeared, he kneeled before Alison and touched her cheek with a cool hand. Skin made contact with skin, and a liquid that felt like ice shot through her veins, awakening her.

"Wake up, Alison," he'd murmur gently, peering down at the blonde beauty.

:: Pain. That was pretty much all that Cameron felt when he awoke on the floor. It had been a pretty bad stab wound to the back, but he had sustained worse. Morgan had removed his skeleton from his body and he was alive to tell the tale. This compared to that was a mere flesh wound. His vision was a little blurry as he awoke to see Adrian oogling his older sister Alison as he immediately got up and ran over to the both of them as he swiped his hand away from her face just after he had touched her. ::

"Jesus.. Let's try and NOT pull some kind of date rape on my sister tonight, don't you think you've done enough?"

:: He looked around to see Morgan a few feet away from him. Cameron searched around for some kind of smell that might wake them up. For a moment, he pondered asking Adrian to borrow his underwear, but then he didn't want to have to deal with the man telling him that he didn't wear any. So Cameron ran into what appeared to be the kitchen as he noticed the trash can. Inside was a banana peel so rotten that Cameron himself almost vomitted. This would do. Apparantely Helena was not the cleanest person in the world. He grabbed the festered peel and walked over to Morgan and put it right under her nose. The smell HAD to wake her up. He did the same exact thing to Alison before tossing the banana peel aside so that nobody would be none the wiser. And plus, he could just imagine now the comparatives that Morgan could draw between a rotten banana peel and Cameron King himself. He awaited for both of them to wake up. Adrian was taking care of his sister, and with an extremely watchful and guarded eye, He monitored both of them but sat at the side of Morgan. ::

"Come on, Victoria... Wake up now..."

Haleigh's eyelids fluttered softly before opening slowly. Her vision was double for a moment as she lay on her side, groaning. Her hands were bound behind her back with metal handcuffs, and as she sat up she pulled them apart, until the short chain was taut, and then applied extra pressure until the chain snapped, her hands free but now with the cuffs still around her wrists.

"That was really dirty, you sneaky bastard....." She said, turning around to look behind her, finding the man headless. "Oh... didnt work out ot well for you, did it?" Haleigh continued to survey her surroundings as she scooped up her gun from the floor... Cameron and Adrian were knelt over Alison and Morgan. "No no, don't fret over me, I'm fine." She said sarcastically, getting up and walking over to stand by the boys. "So how bad a shape are they in? Wait..." She stopped, looking around, her brow furrowed, a worried tone in her voice. "WHERE'S Alexis??"

:: Unconscious, Alexis' body was strapped to a metal chair that was bolted to the concrete ground. Metal chains wrapped both her wrists to the arm rests of the chair, and her ankles to the legs. She was completely subdued. Her head rested forward, completely limp. Her blonde locks shading her face. But if it wasn't enough to actually knock Alexis out, Helena wanted to drug her also. To prevent the usage of her powers. One of the Wildpack came up to Alexis and pushed a long syringe into her bare arm, injecting her with a hallucinogenic drug. This drug would cause her to be too weak to use her powers and not be able to differentiate between reality and illusions. ::

:: Some time had passed, and soon, Alexis began to come to. Moving her head slightly to the side, it felt like a thousand pounds...it was pounding. The noise around her was muffled and slow. A soft moan could be heard as she rolled her head back allowing it to rest on the chair. Her eyes were shut but soon began to flutter. Slowly opening them, everything was blurred. The lights looked like they were moving, the people walking around her seemed to be in slow motion. She was too weak to even talk. As she continued to come to, Helena didn't waste any time... ::

Hearing the sound of footsteps and feeling Cameron's indignant swipe at his hand, Adrian rolled his eyes. "Date rape? I was administering a synpasial stimulant." He watched the telepath crudely weilding a rotton banana peel with something of a smirk. "I think my method is not only cleaner, but more reliable."

Shaking his head with a laugh, Adrian stood. He could feel the tension between them, thick enough to cut with a knife. Not that he'd blame Cameron -- Adrian had seduced him. Practically raped him.

Adrian could care less.

"Hold still," he murmured as he kneeled behind Cameron, analyzing the wound with a critical eye. Running a hand across the scarred flesh, an antibiotic chemical from his pores began to slather the wound. "It'll sting, but with no pain comes no gain. It's a disinfectant and it'll heal you up faster."

Standing, Adrian looked around. "Alexis. We need to find Alexis."

Looking around the brightly lit cavern, it looked like an underground lab...something out of Resident Evil. It was no surprise that Helena had built this place with the aid of MysTech...the equipment alone was reminiscent of the citadel.

Along one of the cavern walls, there about 30 monitors, all showing different sections of Wyndemre. And about five revealing another room....a room similar to the one she was in....

She watched as Adrian killed her men with his toxins....she scoffed. They were all starting to come to. Rolling her eyes, sometimes her Wildpack was as useless as the next thug. Helena turned to one of her men.
"Seal the doors to the east and west passages. I don't need Alison to reveal our location."

The man nodded as he proceeded down a passage way, disappearing. The plus about working with MysTech...all the wonderful technology that could stop rats like The Six. The entire section Helena, Alexis, and her men were in, is protected by not only sealed, indestructible steal doors, but a psi screen, preventing not only Alison, but Cameron from being able to locate them. And for an added little bonus, some friendly faces (MysTech goons) to greet the group if they actually found the doorway to the cavern. This was all strategically planned out. To the T. But how did Helena know that the six would be after her....why would she invest so much effort just to keep Alexis away from the six. There was something more to Helena's plans. There was much more to this story then meets the eye... ::

<< Morgan lay still for a moment longer..before being stimulated by the horrid smell of the bananna peel....Morgan's nose wrinkled as her eyes fluttered....groaning with annoyance...her icy violet eyes opened...and she looked groggily up at Cameron...not fully processing who he was>>

ugghhhh...

<<frowning as she put her hand to her forehead...>>

<<blinking a few times before her vision focused...and she realized it was HIM>>

UGH!

<<immediately sitting up with a start, Morgan looked around and gained a view of her surroundings>>

<<in an icy voice>>: that broke down inspector gadget, Helena.....WHERE is she!? ill teach her to trifle with me. she AND her endless supply of WILDpack soldiers will serve as fertilizer!

<<standing up...Morgan snapped her fingers and with a chime and flash of violet light, she was now wearing her provocative costume of choice...the low cut, cleavage bearing, front lace up, leather corsett along with black leather mini which gave a painfully full view of her long, smooth flawless legs...along with her black silver heeled stillettos. her hair as now down, parted down the middle and bone straight. she definately favored style over practicality when it came to her costumes...but that was Morgan>>

::Guardian felt the rushe through her body, her veins...as if she were awaking from a deep sleep at last.....she gasped as her eyes popped open and she placed her hand on her chest...immediately sitting up and pushing Adrian away from her::

GET AWAY!

::she shouted with an almost strained tone::

::She struggled to her feet...as she acclimated her surroundings, the dining hall..and noted each of the Six...her brother was nearby and had been keeping an eye on her while she was unconscious and Adrian was over her. she appreciated that.

::centering herself...she looked Adrian up and down:: many thanks for reviving me...but if you even think of trying to cop a feel again...ill true freeze your hands and shatter them.

::her voice was cold and analytical once more...as she was now suddenly wearing her own trade mark black corsetted leather "x-men style" body suit with stilletto heeled boots. her hair was now BACK in her trade mark style of a tight, sleek pulled back bun and she looked as cold and unforgiving as ever::

Haleigh...i have words for you. and you WILL hear them before we depart this place.

::looking around ...alison commented::

Alexis is far below..... in the catacombs of the estate....which have existed for decades....Mystech technology is in use throughout the catacombs...and Helena is a hold over from the same consortium as Christopher Victory and Adam Chandler.

:: Cameron was wondering the same exact thing. Just where WAS Helena and Alexis for that matter. He began to look around as he was trying his best to remember the last few things he saw before he passed out. His wound was now healed but it still burned like a bitch for some reason. He would thank Adrian later. Maybe. ::

"I'm not sure Morgan... but I think they are still somewhere in the house. I never heard anyone taken off and I noticed that we haven't been knocked out for all that long...."

:: He had looked at the clock before passing out and now noticed only about five minutes had been passed before he woke up again. There was no way that everyone could have left that fast. No way at all. Cameron turned to Alison who was about to talk to Haleigh and quickly turned to Morgan. ::

"Do you think you could do some kind of scrying spell while Alison is talking to Haleigh? It might give us an Idea at least even if we don't get the exact location...I remember something about a bookcase? I'm not sure..."

He looked at Alison with something of bemusement etched on his face.

"Coping...raping...assaulting," he said slowly, looking between her and Cameron. "Is this some kind of familial paranoia you two share?" He flicked his wrist expertly, almost as if he intended to slap Alison, and the chemical smell of nitrogen accompanied with the sight of black liquid grazed past her cheek, landing on the outstretched hand of a Wildpack member who had, unbelievably, some fight left in him. The offending limb, now coated with the shiny substance, froze almost instantaneously. Raising an eyebrow towards Alison, Adrian slowly walked past her and to the writhing croonie.

"Hi there," he remarked with a cheerfulness that did not reach his eyes, which remained cold and expressionless. The henchmen groaned. Adrian grabbed him by the wrist and pulled him up. Signs of deterioration were visible on the man's skin -- flesh that now had an unhealthy green look. His tissue, damaged beyond repair, revealed dozens of tiny broken veins, which would have been otherwise hidden on a healthy body. Staring at Alison, Adrian shattered the hand, and an unearthly cry filled the room. The symbolism would not be lost to this knowing woman; he had deliberately destroyed this man's hand in the same fashion she chose, to demonstrate to Alison that he had just as much ruthlessness and power. As for the rest of the Six, it might perhaps be a fascinating display of just how sadistic this pretty boy can be.

"Call me crazy, but I'm not into necrophilia," Adrian commented dryly, looking distastefully at the bloodshot, yellow eyes that stared at him with a mixture of horror, anger and marvel. "See if he knows anything will ya?" he said to Cameron, throwing the dying creature in the air effortlessly. A loud "thud" resounded as the henchmen fell to the telepath's feet.

:: Cameron looked at Adrian with discontempt and a little bit of anger. Nobody knew he had shut off his telepathy. Well at least Morgan and Adrian didn't. He had to tell Alison and Haleigh, but he would now have to admit this in front of everyone. How would they react. ::

"Uh.. I can't. Not anymore. I shut off my telepathy. I can't used it. I sealed it away. I have personal reasons for doing so, none of which are YOUR business, so I would appreciate in the future if you didn't ask me to use my telepathy. Thanks."

:: Suddenly, Prophet got another more familiar headache. The same when AJ had appeared to him the first time. Only this time, he only heard whispers. He heard the names Helena and Adam. Adam Chandler? Alexis' father? ::

"And guys.. I have been getting messages.. Oh god, I feel like the boy from the Sixth Sense, but AJ has been sending me things. He told me that Helena killed him. Then I am hearing Adam, who I am believing to be Adam Chandler. I think that the two were working together. I think AJ knew something he shouldn't.. There is definitely something going on under the surface and Mystech is definitely at the forefront.

:: Turning back to Morgan and the rest ::

"Now, I don't know if it's intuition, but I think there is some kind of hidden passage in the house. I know it is on this floor, and I think it's by the staircase, I just don't know exactly where or what triggers it..."

<< Morgan folded her arms...always looking as if she were agitated with every man that every lived..she turned her head as Cameron revealed that his telepathic powers were in flux>>

<<for some reason, there were flashes of a "memory"...a dream..a savage, emotionally corrective experience...she remembered her savage, unholy costume from the Inferno....the morgue from the medical office that sat above the citadle...and waking up...and feeling Ororo's fleeting presence along with the winds and the leaves....all of this from what Cameron had just said....>>

<< standing posed, with her arms folded still...her agitated look softend just a bit at his admission...she knew there was something severe behind that change>>

<< in an icy voice>> Adam Chandler is dead....Ororo damned him to Limbo months ago....his soul is forever tormented, how could he be apart of this?

And Alison just clarified that Helena is backed by Mystech...apparently the catacombs below this estate are filled with a honeycomb of tunnels...and that mystech's technology is very much apart of that network. Helena is obviously very resourcefull...

<< scoffing at the apparently rivalry between Adrian and Cameron...morgan dismissively waved her hand..and with a blast of thunder, a stepping disc snaps open beneath the body of the fallen WILDpack soldiers that still remained...as they are teleported to Limbo....where they will be received by demons. Adrian has no idea of the scope of Morgan's power or of Limbo....but he would soon learn. for now..the bodies was dealt with...as Morgan looked over at Adrian>>

Whoever you are...do not over estimate your worth here. Alison is a precog and more than capable of anticipating any future attacks..not to mention capable of REPELLING them. And instead of trying to bait Cameron, who even I find repulsive, why dont you trying making yourself USEFULL in helping us to find and save Alexis...since its YOUR FAULT that this happened to her ANYWAY!

<< Morgan was never one to hold back....and so it shouldve been no suprise when she lashed at Adrian with her icy, vicious tone..standing there in her painfully sexy outfit>>

Haleigh's chin rest on her chest, as she rolled her head slowly and rubbed the back of her neck with one hand. She sighed as Alison spoke to her, looking up at the woman, their eyes locking and Haleigh holding her gaze for a few seconds before dropping her chin again, reaching down between her shoulder blades gently.

"Oh Alison.... I would be insulted if you didnt."

She said, loud enough to be heard by Alison and no one else. She kept reaching, brushing her fingers over the tender spot in the middle of her shoulder blades where the electricity from the stun gun had made its entry point. they had REALLY turned up the heat... enough to burn Haleigh's skin, and now it itched as it healed. She gently scraped her fingernails over it, wincing instantly, experiencing a sting much like when you scratch sunburn. A knocking sound came from the front door, and Haleigh looked up. She looked back at the 'team', telling them it was okay and volunteering to answer it. Her heels clicked across the marble floors of the foyer, echoing in the open space. The door creaked as she opened it.

"Hello Boys."

She said simply, lightly, as though the guys next door had come over for dinner. Two men stood in front of the threshold, each carrying a duffle bag and one carrying a metal breifcase of sorts. Haleigh ushered them in and immediately began picking through the bags. It was clear to the group that she'd called CI for gear in the past few seconds.

Haleigh opened the metal case, her eyes sparkling. She pulled out a white outfit and turned it over, inspecting it... it looked like a track suit... but she treated it like it was made of gold, as she pulled off her heels, grabbing one of her men's arms to stabilize herself. She pulled the pants on, then smoothed the fabric out. The fabric looked like a polyester/cotton blend, and Haleigh seemed satisfied with it but looked underdressed next to the dominatrix 'Madam Discipline' looking Alison and Morgan. She slipped her dress off over her head, making no attempt to be modest with her perfectly full cleavage or hide her pastel pink lace bra, undressing as though she were alone though she was in plain view. She slid her arms into the 'track suit' jacket, zipping it up. She pulled slightly on the fabric, smiling and mumbling something of praise. She pulled on matching white Diesel tennis shoes. It seemed ironic, Haleigh wearing white, but she went on picking through the bags, unfazed. A few minutes later and she was sliding a long hunting knife into a sheath under her pant leg and snapping a magazine into a Walther P22.

"Okay gentlemen... thanks for bringing it over. Mark, take this dress back to Mrs Allusi."

Mark: "We brought all this and all you're taking is a pocket knife and a bb gun?"

"First of all... when I take this 10 inch blade across your throat and it slices your head off, you'll realize its NOT a pocket knife... Secondly, NEVER knock a Walther. This little handheld could put a sizeable hole in your ass. Thirdly.... you can't possibly expect me to carry this all with me, can you? Leave the bags... the stuff is within reach here."

She said firmly, pulling her blonde locks back into a ponytail. She rejoins the group, as Adrian tortures a last survivor. She watches, her expression blank and her green eyes steely, undisturbed by his mercilessness. She looks from the fallen figure back to Adrian, and though her face is still stoic, in her eyes exists a glint that can be mistaken for none other than approval.... She rolls her eyes as Morgan embarks upon one of her holier than thou 'dont-think-to-highly-of-yourself-because-i'm-THE-bitch-around-here' speeches. She waited until Morgan was finished to politely inject herself into the discussion.

"Well standing around talking about Helena wont accomplish much... I give us about five more minutes of talking before threats start flying... so lets wrap this up and move on. Alexis is our top priority... we need to ensure her safety FIRST... and then move on Helena from there. Cameron... you said something about them disappearing behind a ghost door near the staircase?"

Adrian smiled, outwardly oblivious to Cameron's discomfort, but in the back of his mind he knew. The half-dead soldier would have just as easily submitted to him, dying or otherwise. Yet.

He had taken note as soon as Cameron's "reactions", which were reflexive and sharp when aided with telepathy, had slowed during his manipulation of Alexis. Their first encounter still burned bright in Adrian's mind. Black tuxedos, the unique sensation of slight stubble and roughness, and of course, Cameron's formidable defense mechanisms which had delved into Adrian's mind, unlocking his deepest secrets.

When he failed to pounce on Adrian during the interaction with Alexis, Adrian suspected something. To his great surprise and pleasure, these suspicions were now solidifed.

"Sure thing, man," he said outloud, nonchalant. But the admission would no doubt make Cameron more malleable. He ignored the outside interruption associated with Haleigh, as yet another member decided to give him a speech.

When Morgan addressed him, Adrian turned to her for the first time. Looked at her. Really looked at her. Morgan Victoria. The catalyst of the sequence of events which had landed him here, in an unlikely and forced companionship with four different individuals, united only in the search for Alexis, the last of the group. At times like these, Adrian himself marveled at the scope of his machinations, but lest he drift out of thought, listened to her sharp tongue.

"I know that this is my fault," he said softly, his brown gaze raising bravely to stare at her icey blue irises. "And I'm going to fix the problem, Ms. Victoria."

An admission of guilt. And no defensive rebuttals. Not a suave introduction to this woman who he had been dying to meet, nor a correction about Cameron, who he would argue was just as filthy in his eyes. Rather than make excuses and smooth talk his way out of this, Adrian stated the situation in a concise, matter-of-fact way. Undoubtedly something new to this woman, who was used to dealing with the irresponsible. But this man was a gifted chameleon, and it was apparent that no amount of eloquency would convince them of another source of the problem. This attack had been inevitable, and Adrian would deal with his position as the scapegoat with grace.

"You guys mentioned a hidden staircase around here," he continued, his eyes searching the room. "But I don't think we have time to excavate this passageway with a pick and axe."

Suddenly turning and, without a word, Adrian walked out of the living room and into the hallway, striding in large, confident steps toward the staircase. He stopped. Analyzing the stairs and then looking forward, towards the entrance of the Quartermaine library. Adrian cycled over the situation.

Alexis Quartermaine. Daughter of Adam, associated with Mystech. Science. Hostage of Helena, who killed AJ in connection with Mystech. Mystech. Science.

Adrian put a hand on the railing to steady himself, and raised the other hand to rub his head. He had never actually gotten a headache, but the mere comforting motion acted as a wonderful placebo.

The library. It had to be. It was cliche, but there was no way it would be right near the staircase, where there was always traffic.

Walking faster now, with a sense of urgency, Adrian burst open through the library. Seconds later, a very strong smell of toxins invaded the room and wafted outside. No books were visible, and the immense library was laid bare. The finely constructed wooden shelves melted, along with the books, Adrian stared in frustration at the walls, which had no remote indication of a secret passageway.

Unless...

He looked down at the expensive Persian rug which carpeted the floor. A few more seconds passed, and that fabric was also melted away with Adrian's highly potent toxins. He stared, again repulsed by the lack of any kind of entrance. During the "meltdown" of the libray, any kind of trigger for this passageway had also been demolished. It would have to be manually found. And he knew, with inexpressable certainy, that it was in this room. Adrian stomped his feet in chidlike frustration.

A hollow sound rebounded back to him, echoing in the large, enclosed room.

He blinked, staring down at the area below his feet. He knew that sound. Like hard metal relaying something insignificant.

Throwing his hand down, palm facing the floor, a powerful blast of venom shook the floor as it penetrated the radius around Adrian. The venom sizzled, burning through a surprisingly resiliant wood and tearing away at the vestiges of some sort of panel. In its destruction, a bright metal surface came into view with a metal handle and a password key, fixed with green digits, next to the handle.

Kicking away the last of the wood, Adrian grinned triumphantly at the door, no doubt leading to an underground passage of some sort. Simple yet effective. Eveyone always tried to complicate the situation and create elaborate problems when, really, this problem's genius lay in its cunning. A cunning Adrian could appreciate.

"It's here," he shouted, raising his head towards the doorway.

:: Opening her eyes widder now, Alexis' vision was still scewed. Even though she could see people more clearly then before, they seemed to still move at a very slow pace, and the lights around them would move in a werid circular motion. Blinking a few times, she desperately tried to keep her head upright as it still felt very heavy. Leaning it back against the chair once again, she rolled it to the left, casting her glance to Helena. ::

"Where am...I..."

:: Alexis softly muttered. She sounded drugged: her voice very weak and speech almost slurred. ::

Closing her eyes once again, everything hurt. Her body, her mind..everything. It hurt to speak, blink, breath. Alexis was so doped up she didn't even realize she was chained to the chair. ::

Turning to Alexis, a smile appeared on her thin lips. She was finally awake...well, if you call THAT awake. Allowing er men to continue on with what she was doing, Helena stepped away and made her way toward Alexis. As she attempted to speak, Helena bent down to her nieces level, looking at her in the eyes.

"Hell, darling."

Brushing a few of her blonde tresses away from her face with her boney fingers, Helena stood somewhat then stopped. Leaning forward, her mouth mere inches from Alexis' ear.

"Say hello to your brother for me..."

A soft malicious laugh could be heard as she moved away from Alexis, now standing upright. Looking at her niece once again loose consciousness, a warm and fuzzy feeling just ran through Helena's entire body. This was like Christmas for her. But her fuzzy feeling soon subsided with some rather disturbing news...

Man: "Adrian Lockhart found the entry way to the tunnels."

Gritting her teeth, Helena made her way past Alexis and to the wall of monitors, seeing that in fact, Adrian did find the passage way. She didn't expect him of all people to find the door...she assumed his rubber sex doll had more sense then that toxic oaf. Nevertheless, Helena crossed her arms, watching the monitor closely.

"Dispatch Varook."
