I'm just going to say it up here: This is my blanket disclaimer. I MAY include material in my post that can be construed as spoilers... so Reader Beware.... because SINCE this thread is MARKED 'spoilers contained', I'm not going to go through my post with a fine tooth comb and use five hundred spoiler tags
LOL, mat. I was so offended when i first read that. I was like 'ugh! how could he say that! I love Gambit! I was so disappointed when I found out he wouldnt be in it!
But then i read the following sentence and couldn't help but agree.
Although I was curious to see who they might cast to play the Ragin' Cajun, ultimately I'm glad I didn't get a soured version of him. At least this way his integrity is preserved. I freely admit I'm not well versed in comics, but from what I DO know... I always liked Gambit.
Storm showed strength of heart AND of will... and she stood up to lead the Xmen when all seemed loss. I liked that-- strong women characters and all-- and I think Storm is a VERY well put-together character.
If i HAD to pick a character from the movie [NOT one of the mains, but a newly introduced] that I most enjoyed watching.... It would definitely be Kitty. She had a less OFFENSIVE power... and she was an underdog... but she was resourseful and tactful and she managed to prevail nonetheless, and THAT... is one thing the writers got right [that is to say, they didn't dilute the character strength and Kitty had some defining moments.]
